Atlantic City The Beaches at Atlantic City
Posted: Mon July 10, 2006 01:06 PM UTC
Can you swim in the ocean at Atlantic City. I have heard that it is a very dirty beach. Usually go to Ocean City, Maryland which is very clean, but going to Atlantic City to visit casinos, but also enjoy to swim in the ocean. Heard that alot of needles etc are on beach and in ocean. Is this true?

Atlantic City Now that the state is shut down...
Posted: Thu July 6, 2006 01:35 AM UTC
Hello all...

I've booked a room at the Taj Mahal for Sunday (7/9) for two nights. Now that the casino's are shut down (and don't seem likely to be open by then) is it worth it to spend the near $400 to stay for two nights?

My main reason was to go to the casino as I've never been (AC, Vegas, anywhere!) and this is a real bummer for me. The Casino/Hotel is not giving refunds as other attractions are open. But, I can cancel my reservation with at most a $25 cancellation fee (from what I hear, they are waiving these) and spend my vacation elsewhere.

So, I guess I'm asking... should I stay or should I go?

Thanks all!

Atlantic City Parking for a little while in AC, NJ.
Posted: Tue July 4, 2006 08:36 PM UTC
Ok what we are going to do is drive to AC, NJ then take a bus to NYC from there. Now we need a place to park our car, we thought of the free parking at some of the casinos but then thought, they probably will not let us keep it there for a day or so, so what would u guys say is the best rate we can get on parking just for a day or two?

Atlantic City Help with communiting between Atlantic City and NYC.
Posted: Wed June 21, 2006 06:40 AM UTC
Ok, we will be visiting Atlantic City soon. Basically we wish to stay for the day.

Then take a shuttle from the boardwalk to the train station, then take NJ Rail, to New York Penn Station.

Now, we will be near the Taj Mahal.

I have looked everywhere but cannot find the schedule for the shuttle bus or the schedule for a train that takes u from AC to NYC.

Is there a shuttle that I can take from the airport to the Holiday Inn Boardwalk? Any idea on how much this will cost? I've tried the city website and can't seem to find any info on this except car rentals. Thanks for any information.

Atlantic City Looking for good bars for single 40-somethings
Posted: Wed February 22, 2006 02:29 PM UTC
My friend and I are planning a trip to AC in June specifically to hear a concert at the House of Blues. I wanted to know if anyone could give me any advice on some bars to hang out at that are more conducive to the 40-something singles (in some of the resorts, or on the boardwalk maybe). We're staying at the Tropicana Havana Tower (please tell me that's a good choice....) I'm not big on "hip-hop" dance clubs... something more laid back and an older crowd. Live music would be a plus... a little ambiance and a safe enviornment for two single ladies. We are not party animals, but like to rip and run the bars when we're on vacation. I found this forum to be extremely helpful regarding this question when I went to Las Vegas... the suggestions I got ended up being the places I liked the most, so I'm sure I'll get great advice on this question for Atlantic City, too! Thanks so much!

Which casino has the best "player friendly" blackjack games. I have never play in AC and usually play $10 to $15 per hand. Thanks John.

Atlantic City Atlantic City Beach Rules
Posted: Mon July 25, 2005 12:34 AM UTC
We are going to Atlantic City next weekend, as much for the beach as the gambling. We are looking forward to a night swim. Are there any restrictions about this, and anything else we should be aware of before venturing into the water (besides not going out too far!) Thanks.

Atlantic City Cheap Casinos & Buses from NYC ?
Posted: Sat March 26, 2005 02:38 PM UTC
Hello All,

I'm thinking about going down to AC for the day either this Sunday 3/27, or Monday 3/28. I've never been, but have the urge to hit the craps tables before I start a new job next week. Plus, it's a heck of a lot closer than Vegas!

Can anyone recommend the following?
(1) A cheap (yet not seedy casino). I'm looking for around $5 and under craps tables. Do I have to go on a weekday? Or is this possible on a Sunday?
(2) Which of the buses from Manhattan is best? I've always heard that casino buses are cheap and give casino chips, but I can't find any info on the internet.

Your help would be most appreciated!

Cheers,
Russell

Atlantic City Parking in Atlantic City
Posted: Sat October 2, 2004 09:44 PM UTC
What are the parking rates in garages and open lots that are close to the boardwalk?
Do any casinos offer free parking after a period of gambling? Harrah's in New Orleans requires only 30 minutes of gambling for free parking but nothing is mentioned at Harrah's Showboat website.

I am going to be in an Atlantic City in 2 weeks, and a girlfriend of mine is coming from Queens. She mentioned there are shuttles that reimburse your fare in casino chips. Is that an option? I haven't found anything in my search yet.

Atlantic City Atlantic City: Tropicana Casino and Resort
Posted: Sat June 28, 2003 03:36 AM UTC
Some girlfriends and I want to go to the beach for a couple days. Some of the girls are students so can't afford alot of $ for a hotel....not planning to gamble but maybe will catch a couple shows.

Questions (if anyone can help):

1. Does the tropicana casino and resort hotel have ocean front rooms with balcony?

2. Does anyone know of reasonable hotels with an ocean front balcony on the boardwalk?

3. Reading some of the reviews I wonder about the beach/ocean.....some of the reviews make the place sound like we will be in danger of stepping on herion needles in the sand of the beaches. I know Jersey has TONS of beautiful places to go.....so what is the status on Atlantic city beach. If not here, where would u recommend going that one can still get the great hotel deals (considering that AC has the casinos who keep the rates low)....

Thanks
Megypt
