AC mid-level casino/hotel suites--which one and where? Posted: Tue July 25, 2006 08:04 AM UTC
Hello, I need some suggestions on suite types as last time I went to AC the room I reserved at the Tropicana was not what I was expecting to see, especially in the off-season . I reserved the west atlantic tower suite and was very disappointed when I walked in.
Lets say its a suite by defintion, but the barest minimum at that. Very tiny bathroom with shower stall, it did have a large king bed with a very old jacuzzi bath tub. Very plain blue furinshings and decor. I really felt as if I was in a MOTEL than a luxury casino hotel! I know most of these really super nice rooms usually are reserved for winners and high rollers as comps, but Im sure its not ALL of those rooms
From what I've been reading these nicer rooms have names attached to them, so I guess you gotta know what room/suite to ask for or you may not know what your even getting til you open the door. So what I'm looking for is a room/suite thats kinda like 1-3 steps under (in-between) what high rollers are offered. Something comfortable for 3-4 ppl and tasteful (contempo/updated would be nice) with space (not 2 small motel rooms) that has a real spa/jacuzzi and not bath tub. I don't care where I really stay as long as I can find the right type of accmodations Im seeking, if at all possible. Thanks for any help anyone can offer me

The Beaches at Atlantic City Posted: Mon July 10, 2006 02:06 PM UTC
Can you swim in the ocean at Atlantic City. I have heard that it is a very dirty beach. Usually go to Ocean City, Maryland which is very clean, but going to Atlantic City to visit casinos, but also enjoy to swim in the ocean. Heard that alot of needles etc are on beach and in ocean. Is this true?

Now that the state is shut down... Posted: Thu July 6, 2006 02:35 AM UTC
Hello all...
I've booked a room at the Taj Mahal for Sunday (7/9) for two nights. Now that the casino's are shut down (and don't seem likely to be open by then) is it worth it to spend the near $400 to stay for two nights?
My main reason was to go to the casino as I've never been (AC, Vegas, anywhere!) and this is a real bummer for me. The Casino/Hotel is not giving refunds as other attractions are open. But, I can cancel my reservation with at most a $25 cancellation fee (from what I hear, they are waiving these) and spend my vacation elsewhere.
So, I guess I'm asking... should I stay or should I go?
Thanks all!

Parking for a little while in AC, NJ. Posted: Tue July 4, 2006 09:36 PM UTC
Ok what we are going to do is drive to AC, NJ then take a bus to NYC from there. Now we need a place to park our car, we thought of the free parking at some of the casinos but then thought, they probably will not let us keep it there for a day or so, so what would u guys say is the best rate we can get on parking just for a day or two?

Help with communiting between Atlantic City and NYC. Posted: Wed June 21, 2006 07:40 AM UTC
Ok, we will be visiting Atlantic City soon. Basically we wish to stay for the day.
Then take a shuttle from the boardwalk to the train station, then take NJ Rail, to New York Penn Station.
Now, we will be near the Taj Mahal.
I have looked everywhere but cannot find the schedule for the shuttle bus or the schedule for a train that takes u from AC to NYC.

Transportation from airport Posted: Fri June 2, 2006 03:22 PM UTC
Is there a shuttle that I can take from the airport to the Holiday Inn Boardwalk? Any idea on how much this will cost? I've tried the city website and can't seem to find any info on this except car rentals. Thanks for any information.

Looking for good bars for single 40-somethings Posted: Wed February 22, 2006 03:29 PM UTC
My friend and I are planning a trip to AC in June specifically to hear a concert at the House of Blues. I wanted to know if anyone could give me any advice on some bars to hang out at that are more conducive to the 40-something singles (in some of the resorts, or on the boardwalk maybe). We're staying at the Tropicana Havana Tower (please tell me that's a good choice....) I'm not big on "hip-hop" dance clubs... something more laid back and an older crowd. Live music would be a plus... a little ambiance and a safe enviornment for two single ladies. We are not party animals, but like to rip and run the bars when we're on vacation. I found this forum to be extremely helpful regarding this question when I went to Las Vegas... the suggestions I got ended up being the places I liked the most, so I'm sure I'll get great advice on this question for Atlantic City, too! Thanks so much!

Atlantic City Beach Rules Posted: Mon July 25, 2005 01:34 AM UTC
We are going to Atlantic City next weekend, as much for the beach as the gambling. We are looking forward to a night swim. Are there any restrictions about this, and anything else we should be aware of before venturing into the water (besides not going out too far!) Thanks.

Cheap Casinos & Buses from NYC ? Posted: Sat March 26, 2005 03:38 PM UTC
Hello All,
I'm thinking about going down to AC for the day either this Sunday 3/27, or Monday 3/28. I've never been, but have the urge to hit the craps tables before I start a new job next week. Plus, it's a heck of a lot closer than Vegas!
Can anyone recommend the following?
(1) A cheap (yet not seedy casino). I'm looking for around $5 and under craps tables. Do I have to go on a weekday? Or is this possible on a Sunday?
(2) Which of the buses from Manhattan is best? I've always heard that casino buses are cheap and give casino chips, but I can't find any info on the internet.
Your help would be most appreciated!
Cheers,
Russell
