Posted: Sat August 1, 2009 04:57 AM UTC
Hi,
we will be spending one day in Villefranche and would like to go to St. Paul De Vence? How do we get there and how far is it from Villefranche? Is it worth the trip? Also, what Souvenir would most celebrate this area of the French Riviera?

Villefranche-sur-Mer PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
Posted: Sun February 1, 2009 10:14 PM UTC
Greetings! I will be cruising to Villefranche in October. I am interested in visiting Eze (Middle Corniche) to check out the Fragonard Perfume Museum. What's the best way to get there from Villefranche? I am also interested in going to Old Nice and Castle Hill, and possibly Monaco, although I don't think I would have enough time for that. I would appreciate any help or comments.

Villefranche-sur-Mer Bus #82 or#112 to Eze
Posted: Sun April 27, 2008 02:45 AM UTC
Hi. Looking at the bus map it looks like I can pick up either bus #82 or #112 and go directly from Villefranche to Eze village. But NiceLife said there was no direct bus. So am I reading the map wrong? Could someone verify that you can get #82 or #112 in Villefranche. Looking at the map, it looks like the bus stops on Blvd. de Corne d'Or. It looks to be within walking distance of the pier, but I'd like some verification from a real life person! Can anyone describe the walk?

Thanks, Nisa

Villefranche-sur-Mer Walking to Beaulieu-Sur-Mer
Posted: Thu February 28, 2008 10:13 AM UTC
Hello,

We will be stopping in Villefranche on a cruise. I am interested in walking along the beach and across the peninsula to Beaulieu-Sur-Mer. The plan is a liesurely stroll, have lunch then walk back to Villefranche to check out the antique market and the old town.

Is this feasible? Does anyone have any tips for a day like this?

Thanks in advance,

Are the trains or buses wheelchair accessible? I would like to go to Monaco from Villefranche. I would also like to go from Villefranche to Nice. Also Cannes to Monaco.

If they are not wheelchair accessible do you know what the cab fare would be for the trips above?

Villefranche-sur-Mer What Not To Miss
Posted: Wed August 29, 2007 12:21 PM UTC
Mary B here again, many thanks for your help re St. Paul De Vence, For my 17 night stay in Villefranche I will have a bus stop outside the door that goes into the main Nice station and to Menton. Are there any places that you highly recommend I and my friend visit, have been to Antibes, Cap Ferrat, Cannes, Monte Carlo. Is Italy worth going to ? Not really interested in markets, but perhaps some other nice Italian place. It will be public transport all the way for us, unfortunately cannot afford taxis. Any spare cash goes on the vino !!! Many thanks, Mary B.
p.s. There is a Russian church in Nice, is it worth visiting ?

Villefranche-sur-Mer Recommendation for dinner for 10 in VF
Posted: Fri June 29, 2007 08:10 PM UTC
Hi

I'm renting a villa in Ville Franche Sur Mer from Saturday 4th August, and would appreciate any recommendations for good restaurants in the town which would accept a reservation for 10 people? Al fresco would be nice, although not essential, and we want something with good food and wine that's also friendly and welcoming... any ideas welcomed....

How's the beach at Villefranche? Is the water shallow enough for a toddler? We will stay at Nice but the water there is too deep for a toddler and we are looking for a sandy beach that is not deep without waves. Thanks in advance.

Villefranche-sur-Mer Villefranche-sur mer for 1 day
Posted: Wed April 18, 2007 08:31 PM UTC
I just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful tips on Villefranche. I am arriving by cruise ship on Sunday, 13May for just one day. I was in Villefranche last May and enjoyed the little town but am wondering are there places to walk/hike in the area? Seems to me walking along the shore towards the Citadel is the way to go? How about up in the hills above VF, anything that is Hikeable? By the way, is the town still open for business on Sundays?
One final question, what is your favorite Patisserie in Villefrance? I feel I must leave VF with a small box of edible "souvenirs" when I leave.

Merci
