Great Smoky Mountains National Park Has anyone stayed at Smoky Cove Resort near the Smokies?

We're trying to find a nice cabin near the Smoky Mountains to rent for a family reunion. Has anyone stayed in any of the cabins at Smoky Cove Resort? I found a cabin on their website that I really liked. It was called Pinnacle Vista. Any experience with this place?

Great Smoky Mountains National Park planing a hike on GSM NP
Posted: Wed September 3, 2008 07:57 PM UTC
I am coming up that way from Florida, trying to decide where to hike and am overwhelmed with the many options. What are the best hike on the east side of the park? Hoping to do a 3 night backcountry trip, so is there a good loop? Or just an out and back? Or a bunch of different hikes? Also, if anyone is familiar with hikes in Nantahala, what are the best longer hikes in there and must sees?

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Best place to stay to visit Great Smoky NAtional PArk
Posted: Wed April 16, 2008 06:04 PM UTC
It's time to plan our summer 2009 family reunion. Our grown kids are all outdoor people who love hiking and water sports. We'd like to be near the Great Smoky National Park. Do you suggest staying in NC or Tenn? I found many lovely rental vacation homes in Maggie Valley, NC. Is that convenient for the park? We don't want to drive an hour each time we go into the park.
Thank you in advance for your responses.

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Best "starting" point
Posted: Mon May 28, 2007 09:19 PM UTC
Hello, a friend and I wanted to meet up in the Smokey Mountains (she'll be driving from Northern Kentucky and I will be flying from Key West, Florida). What do you think is the best meeting point? I saw flights were cheap to Charlotte, NC, but how far from the Smoky's is Charlotte and would that be too out of my friends way to drive (to pick me up)? Would it be better to meet at an airport in Tennessee? If so, Knoxville or Chatanooga? Both looked close to the mountains.
Basically, what location would be more convienant to meet someone, then drive to the Smoky's???

Great Smoky Mountains National Park Can you recommend rental cabin in Smokey Mts. area?
Posted: Mon September 13, 2004 08:05 PM UTC
I am looking for that pergect getaway cabin south of Smokey Mountains Nat'k Park. Can anyone recommend a small cabin, on water-lake, creek, river,
secluded, fire pit, outdoor hot tub and less than $750.?
We have camped for 25 yrs. and have explored much of the mountains, but are ready to try something different, without the children. Views are great but prefer water near cabin for that romantic week long getaway from Florida. I appreciate any suggestions anyone may have. Thank you

Great Smoky Mountains National Park two week driving holiday
Posted: Sun August 8, 2004 09:27 PM UTC
Hi all, I'm wanting to come back to the states for my holiday next july and am unsure of where to go for a driving holiday that could be filled with lots to see and do. I love nature trails etc and came across this page detailing the Smoky mountains which looks like a beautiful place and somewhere that you'd have no problem filling your days by exploring.
Is this near to Dolly Partons home town, are there other places to spend a bit of time nearby etc...I'd love to spend time in this part of the states but would like to know if there is enough to occupy me throughout a two week stay.....How far away are other parks etc....Thanks for your help guys...
