Kansas City Baseball question
Posted: Thu April 24, 2008 12:02 AM UTC
Do most teams stay at the Intercontinental? I know we are staying there with Toronto this weekend (stepson plays) but we lost our media guide and I'm impatient in waiting for another. I will be back thru there third week of June with some friends and wondered if San Francisco will be staying there also. Guess I could find out this weekend and book then but as I said...I'm impatient...and want to go ahead and book...

Kansas City CLUB X O ?
Posted: Wed July 25, 2007 04:35 AM UTC
Does club X O still exist? It is a club that used to be called Atlantis back in the day. I moved to Texas 2 years ago and wonder if the club is still there and if it is still a fun place to go. I am coming to town on Saturday night and am definately looking for a techno, rave, soft gay/lesbian place to party. I HAVE TO DANCE! Are there any other DANCE clubs suggestions out there?

Kansas City getting to kauffman stadium
Posted: Mon April 30, 2007 07:09 PM UTC
Hi

Im coming to Kansas City in August. planning to stay at a motel 6 that is about 7 miles from the stadium, down I 435. How much will a taxi ride cost from there to the stadium?

I am on a very tight budget and normally stay in hostels when traveling, but kansas city doesnt have any hostels. If anyone knows of any real cheap hotels or motels in KC please let me know. I dont mind if its a little dirty, just as long as I wont get stabbed or robbed. Thanks

Kansas City What are your thoughts
Posted: Tue November 15, 2005 03:32 AM UTC
Do you ever see Kansas City as being a place where people want to come, or do you think we are already there?
What would be your top 3 things you would tell someone new to Kansas City to go do?
Where would be the top 3 places you would tell them to go eat at?
Just curious to make sure I am not missing anything in this city, while I am here.

Kansas City Road trip to Denver from Nashville via KC
Posted: Wed May 18, 2005 05:02 PM UTC
Well, it's almost a sure-thing; I'll be taking a quick road trip to Denver from Nashville, TN at the end of May (including Memorial Day weekend).

My travels will take me on Interstates 24, 57, 64, and 70. Approx. 2500 miles r/t and I'm going to try to do it in five days or fewer. Whew! I'm pooped just thinking about it.

Are there any "must-see" places you know of on or near that route?

Anyone want to meet me for lunch (or something), or just wave as I drive by?

Kansas City Dinner Out
Posted: Tue May 10, 2005 06:53 PM UTC
We are trying to pick someplace fun to go out to dinner for my Birthday. I have only lived in KC for a couple of years and I am not sure where a good place is to go. We will have 5 couples in their mid to late thirties. We are not wild people. We want someplace to sit and casually have conversation and dinner and maybe a band performance in the backgroud??? Suggestions??? We would like to stay in the Johnson County area (Overland Park, Shawnee Mission, Leawood, Olathe)

Kansas City Transportation from airport-downtown
Posted: Thu February 3, 2005 12:15 AM UTC
Hi - need some advice on Public Transport!
I'm flying to Kansas City (MCI) early April, arriving fairly late in the evening. I'm looking for a hotel that is near to the airport (within say 5 or 6 miles) but convenient to a bus route as I need to get downtown (greyhound station) next day I'm happy enough paying one set of cab fare from aiport to my hotel, but early the next day, being on a downtown bus route would be a major help as another run on the cab fare could get rather expensive and leave me needing a second mortgage!
Any ideas?!
I located the Metro North Mall, which seems to be served by buses. Is that a possibility?
I'm a Brit, so car hire is not an option I'm looking at to be honest!

Kansas City few questions about airport
Posted: Thu October 14, 2004 05:04 PM UTC
Hi
Is it reasonably straightforward to get the shuttle bus to Junction City? My ultimate destination is Abiline, KA but don't drive so can't hire a car and am relying on public transport from Kansas City International to Abiline.

My flight arrives about 7pm, should I stay overnight in the airport/vicinity and hold off trying to get a shuttle bus til the following day? I don't wanna get stuck in Junction City if there's not likely to be somwhere cheap & safe to stay. Am not sure how long the trip will be from the sirport tio Junction City? ditto from Junction City into Abilene?

Any help would be very much appreciated :)

Kansas City 3 day vacation to kC

This will be my first time to KC. I have 3 days to spend there and was wondering what the best area and/or hotel would be to stay in. I will not have a car so I really need to be in walking distance to shopping, touring, and nightlife. Can you offer any suggestions?

Kansas City Cool neighborhoods in KC area?
Posted: Sat May 22, 2004 11:45 PM UTC
My sister is moving to the Kansas City area for a job. Can someone suggest cool neighborhoods for a young single professional (KS or MO)? She wants to buy a small house, preferrably something older (20's to 40's build).

Zip codes would be helpful, as she's been looking online. Thanks!

Kansas City Good young family neighborhoods near South KC burbs?
Posted: Thu April 22, 2004 10:16 PM UTC
First, sorry about the cross-posting this question to both KCK and KCMo forums, but I wanted advice about both sides.

My wife, toddlers, and I are thinking about moving back to Kansas City. I grew up in Overland Park, but haven't lived there for almost 20 years now. Ideally, I'm looking for a good middle class income community with new development, young families, and good schools. My parents live in Leawood, but that's too expensive and seems a better fit for older families or retirees (like them).

Can anybody suggest good growth locations that would be within 30 minutes of Leawood? How is Olathe doing now? I hear that Lee's Summit has had a growth boom, too. We're visiting later this summer to look around so any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Kansas City Where to go....
Posted: Sun April 11, 2004 06:38 PM UTC
My husband and I will be in Kansas City for 2 nights (weekend nights). One night we are going to a Royals game. We are staying right near the stadium.

1.) What are some good nightlife spots to hit? We are big drinkers (beer) but hate clubs (dancing).

2.)Are there any good sports bars, or laid-back-beer-drinking kind of bars?

3.)Any recommendations where to eat a great meal? Nothing fancy, just someplace that has great food like steaks, wings, ribs, etc?

4.)What are some cool places to drink after the game? Maybe a place with a live band? Would prefer hearing some good rock music, classic rock, etc.

5.)Any cool outdoor drinking spots? (We'll be there in August)

6.)Any cool things to do during the day (touisty things that are a must see)?

Thanks so much for your help!

Kansas City 2 nights in KC
Posted: Thu February 19, 2004 03:59 PM UTC
Hello,
I have business next week in KC and will probably use Hotwire for a hotel. Can anyone recommend a good area to stay and eat? Is downtown the place to be for steaks and drinks? Money is not an issue so a good chophouse with bars around it is key.

I don’t need to be near the convention center or need any daytime activities. Just a good restaurant and a place for a few drinks-pubs and bars not dance places.

Any input is appreciated!

Thanks!
