We will be in Szczecin for a long weekend in teh middle of July. We are also thinking about going on a daytrip or at least a sidetrip to another town from Szczecin, preferably to the Baltic coast.
Ideas already include Kolobrzeg or Swinoujscie. So what are the best otions to get there by public transport? For me it looks like trains are kind of slow on these routes.
Please feel free to suggest any other places which shouldn't be missed as sidetrips when in Szczecin.
If anyone is interested in a little VT meeting in Szczecin around the 17th until the 19th of July, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Hi, does anyone know of a bus service that departs from Szczecin to Berlin after 9pm on a Thursday? Train does not seem to be an option as the last train leaves Szczecin at 8.53pm and I might not make it on time. The two bus companies I'm aware of (Interglobus and BerlinLinienBus) all have their last bus service around 6pm. Anyone know of another option? Are there any other airport shuttles to Berlin besides Interglobus?
Hello! My name is Florin 22yo, from Romania. I was in Szczecin 2 weeks ago, and I like that city so much, and i want to plan my next trip there. To problem is that, 2 weeks ago I stayed at a hostel, named Amicus. The next time I want to be in middle of october, and the lady from there said that it will be full of students that time :| This will be a big problem. There I payed 32 zl/day.
Can anyone tell me what I can find there at around this price? Coz, I found some pensjonat Rika near the centrum but on the website says that cost 35 zl/ day and when I called, it`s 80 zl... the maixum that I can pay is 40-50 zl/day as I want to stay there 5 or 7 days.
Please Help me! I`ll appreciate!!
When Poland joined the Schengen area, the border between the German and the Polish part of the island of Usedom was opened for traffic, making travelling there much easier. We had planned to go to the Bison park and the Museum of Nature, then on to Kamien Pomorski, had got some Zloty, a good map of Swinoujscie and left early. It was easy to follow the signs towards the ferry, but when it was our turn,a young employee walked up to us and told us we couldn't take the ferry. I quote: "You cannot take this ship,it is for people from this city only".
So we went back to the German part of the island and saw the bisons in the much smaller park there.
Is this ferry off-limits for tourist all the time? Or was it because we were early and it was still rush hour for the many commuters? We didn't see any signs except the main ones, leading us to the ferry.
Does anybody know?
I read about a park with a breeding programm of European bisons on the island of Wolin, near Swinoujscie, and would like to go there. We'll be staying on the German part of Usedom and can't take the car into the Polish part,as the border is for pedestrians only.So unless this has changed with Poland being a Schengen state , we have to take public transportation to the bison park. Is there a bus taking tourists to the park? Or should we take a taxi?
Again, thank you for any information.

Hi,
In September I will be finishing a kayak trip started last year and ending in Trzebiez. I have to get back to Trzebiez from Szczecin; hopefully by bus. I understand the train no longer runs on the tracks I see on my map. I guess there is a bus station near the train station in Szczecin. Can I get a bus from there? Do you know how often it runs and what it's number is?
I'm going to visit Szczecin for a couple of days during the Tall Ships' Races in August. Can anyone recommend me any good and not too expensive hotel? Maybe any tips about good restaurants? Or what else to see and do in Szczecin? Are there any other VT-ers also coming to Szczecin for this festival?
Bosman Beer Posted: Fri December 8, 2006 01:38 PM UTC
Hi, My name is Martijn Bosman and i live in The Netherlands. Over here there is no Bosman beer available and no merchandise of Bosman, too.
Does anyone know where to look on the internet ?
I wrote to the brewery several times, but got no reply.
Maybe someone from Szczecin can help me....
Thank you,
Martijn Bosman

I will be on a cruise ship that will be in Rostock, Germany in early September. I would like to see Szczecin, but I will only have a total of twelve hours. Should I rent a car and drive? Or would a bus or train be convenient? If I drive, how long would it take? What is the best rout. Thanks for any help that you can provide.
I'm so scared Posted: Tue April 19, 2005 12:27 AM UTC
I'm from Spain, I'm a college student and it seems i'll be living in Szczecin next year as I just got an Erasmus grant there. I don't care about the cold weather (because I already know I'm gonna freeze), I don't care about the school, as it seems the Politechnika Szczecinska is a very good school, I don't care about the language, because eventually you can learn anything (but chinese), the thing that really really scares me is that even though i've looked all over the internet i haven't found anybody that has been with an erasmus grant there, so the basic questions that i wanted answered, to kill the little fears inside of me to not go there, are still unanswered and these little fears are growing everyday, so please, if you have been there and specially if you are a college student there, get in touch with me. I'll really apreciate it

Hallo. I have travel to Poland for holiday nearly every summer the last 20 year. This summer i will take with me my (camping) caravan and i want to have it all year staying in Poland. Someone who can tell me if it is possible to rent a place close to Szczecin or maybe it is possible to let it stay on a camping someplace around Rewal in wintertime. I only use it in the summer.
I will be in Szczecin for several days. I would like to spend a nice time. Can anybody recommend me a pub, disco, cafeteria to have some fun in the evenings? Will I be able to communicate with Polesi in English? Best wishes D
what would be the recommended mode of transportation to get from szczecin to smaller towns in the vicinity of Stargard (ssw of szczecin). yea, you guessed it, a genealogical reason.
I would like to go in July to Miedzyzdroje Wolin in Poland. Has anybody an idea where is the best but not to expensive place to stay? Other info like Sport activities, etc would be fine.
