Hi everyone! I am new to this forum and hope to get some information about finding temp housing in Odense..My hubby and I are looking for either a private room (furnished) or small apartment to rent up to 6 months, starting in beginning of June'09. We would consider anything reasonable and would appreciate any information or direction to local site, etc; (for now we speak only English..but keen to learn Danish in future). Many thanks:)
2nd question: Is renting (and lifestyle in general) cheaper in Aarhus then Odense? Which one do you like better (just curious)? All opinions are welcome!
I need a low cost room to rent in Faaborg for 3 nights in March when I visit my son, as he has no room I can stay in. I am now 77 years old so I am not looking for a yong peoples place , bt a room that is fairly qiet and OK for an old man. Can anyone help with a recommendation here? Many thanks for any help. I live in England at Hayling Island on the Soth coast, near to portsmoth. John

I am arriving in Munich from Australia, leaving a family member in Munich and then wish to travel to Odense to see H.C. Andersons house etc. I can't work out how I get from Munich to Odense.

Hi, I will be in Odense for a month. How is the nightlife there? Which are the best bars/clubs and which nights are the best to go? I'm hoping to meet some locals so that I can get a better perspective of Odense as I may stay there for a longer time next year. Cheers, Marl
I was recommended this city as a smaller, kinder, more hospitable alternative from Copenhagen and was curious when the best time to visit might be to enjoy the nightlife and meet the locals?
I guess when the university starts up (September?) and on the weekend?
Hi all,
Though this isn't the most active forum, I was hoping to get some help. I am moving to Odense in August and have 2 questions:
1) Where can I find out about a realistic range of prices for an apartment? My wife and I want something with at least a living room, bedroom and office that is nice... and lots of windows! :) Is there a newspaper I can look at or can someone just give me a rough estimate of prices?
2) We are also going to buy a car. My wife is German and I am wondering if it is cheaper to buy in Germany than Denmark?.... this may be a tough question to answer but any help would be great.
okay, if it turns out that I get some responses, I am sure I'll have plenty more questions in the next couple weeks...
Hi everyone,
I'm a high school student from Wisconsin, USA and I will be staying a full year in Odense on foreign exchange. I haven't heard from my host family yet but I will soon. What are some things I should know about Odense? Will I have a good time there? Are there a lot of activities in the city? Anything you think that would be beneficial to me, let me know. Thank you so much:).
The lab secretary has found a 120 kvm apartment with 3 rooms, tv and internet connection for us (me, husband and one-year -old child). It is in a 2nd floor, overlooking a park. The price is DKK 7000 including water, heat and electricity. Does it sound reasonable or very expensive? How much can water, heat and electricity cost? It sounds really expensive to me... Should I tell her to rent it? She says we can get out of the lease with one month notice if we want. Thanks!
I am moving to Odense in mid-January to work in the University as a post-doc. I do not have a clue about what kind of shoes and clothes should we wear. Does it snow? Do we really need completely-water-proof shoes and coats? Should I buy shoes here in Argentina or over there? The best I have been able to find here (we are in spring) are Hi-tech trekking shoes, supposedly water proof, that cost approx. 100 USD. How much does a pair of appropiate shoes cost there? Thanks a lot for your attention.
I have not been to Odense before but would like to go for a short trip, maybe 2 or 3 days, just to get a flavour of the place and meet up with some friends.
Would anybody know if it is possible to fly direct to Odense Airport from London at the start of October. I am looking at cheap RyanAir / EasyJet type flights not business class.
If I can't fly cheaply direct, which Danish airport would be the easiest and quickest to go to, assuming that I am going to take the train the rest of the way to Odense.
I am wondering also about the feasibility of going to Copenhagen with EasyJet and then catching a very short local flight with someone like Mærsk.

Hey there,
I met two nice Danish girls (who are good friends) this summer. I don’t know there names, I know there from the Danish island Fyn. (enlarge the picture next to see them)
They were in the period from 1 July until 12 July in Italy, at the “Lago del Trasimeno” (150 km to the south of Firenze and lose to Perugia) on the camping site Cerquestra. They were with the parents of one of these girls in an apartment for four people.
I hope someone know one ore both of these girls, and will be able to tell me more about them.
In addition, maybe there is someone ho know another Forum were I can place a picture.
Thank you very much, Michiel (mbeentjes_123456@hotmail.com)
