Trips FROM Israel to Egypt or Jordan Posted: Sat November 7, 2009 06:43 AM UTC
My Sabra husband and I will be spending almost a month with family in Jerusalem December/Jan. We would like to take a week or so to visit elsewhere.
Which would be a more interesting, safe, practical, and possibly cheaper destination: Jordan (Amman, Petra, Aqaba....) or Egypt (Cairom Luxor, Alexandria???)
The American tour companies seem to have VERY expensive trips. Do you have any suggestions for budget tour operators? Would you recommend that we try to travel independently, perhaps hiring drivers or taking day trips?
TODA for your help!!!

Planning trip in May Posted: Fri November 6, 2009 02:14 PM UTC
Hi,
I am planning a short trip in May to Beirut. How is the weather in May?
I can only go for a short 3D/2N - yes, I know this is too short, but can someone help with itenary?
This is the proposed plan
Tues:
Fly in to Beirut airport by noon, check in hotel, visit National Museum (please suggest any other places to visit)
Wed Whole day:
Thinking of doing a Baalbek, Ksara and Anjar tour from Beirut, however how come they mostly have the tour specifically on Tuesday and Fridays? Unable to find a tour that is on Wednesday. Can someone help me with this, also to recommend any reliable tour operator?
If we do not join a 1 day tour, is it easy to get to Baalbek and Anjar by ourself on public transport and how?
Thurs:
Thought of visiting Beirut attractions (please suggest), depart late evening.
Thanks!

Abu Dhabi must sees and how to get around Posted: Wed November 4, 2009 02:50 AM UTC
Hi All,
I'll be in AD on 7th - 12th Dec. I plan to stay in AD for 2 days and then move to Dubai from 9-11th.
here are my questions:-
1) Is 2 days sufficient time to spend in AD?
2) What are the must sees in AD & Dubai?
3) i plan to try the sand dune bashing trip - should i do it in AD or Dubai?
4) What is the best way to get around AD & Dubai cities? buses? taxis? trams?
5)how much is the fare for the bus from AD to Dubai?
i am also taking my 1++ year old nephew on this trip - is there any additional info that i need to know with regards to kids?
Thanks

Visiting Palestian Wife Posted: Mon November 2, 2009 10:05 PM UTC
Im a British citizen and have recently married a Palestinian lady in ramallah. We are in the process of applying for a Visa so that she can join me in the UK. I want to visit my wife and when I return I may bring some of her stuff back with me. I have been to Israel several times now and always get interrogated and searched fully when I leave Israel. In all my previous trips I told them Im visiting a friend however is it now ok to tell them Im married? My wife tells me I shouldn't tell them Im married and just say visiting a friend. However I want to bring my wedding photo album back with me, from the pictures its obvious Im married to Palestinian so how can I explain these photos if I say Im visiting a friend.
Any help is appreciated as I get very nervous at the airport and need to be prepared for the travel.

Trabzon to Istanbul by train... through Sivas? Kars? Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 11:45 PM UTC
I'm looking for the best way to get from Trabzon to somewhere that I can get on the train to Istanbul. Some people recommend going from Trabzon to Kars and getting the train there. But Kars is east of Trabzon, the exact opposite direction from Istanbul. Why would people go to Kars to get the train? It looks like Sivas would be a better connection point! Wouldn't it make more sense to go Trabzon-Sivas-Istanbul, not Trabzon-Kars-Istanbul?

Travelling Jordan & Israel in 1 week Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 06:08 AM UTC
Hi all,
I live in Canada, currently working in Irak rotating 28/28. I want to visit Jordan and Israel the last week of January in my way to home. My flight has a stop in Amman, that is the reason I must start my visit in Amman and come back here to take my flight to home. I dont know if i should go to Israel first via King Hussein bridge and come back to Jordan through same bridge or going to Eliat and re-entry to Jordan through south and visit Aqaba and Petra.
Should i re-entry to Jordan through same gate i out?
Can i get a Israel visa at the border (i carry a Ecuadorian passport)?
Should i ask a multiple visa in Jordan?
Taking a flight one way from Tel Aviv to Amman is quiet expensive, but i would consider this posibility if there is a problem to cross the borders.
Thanks in advance for your help.

how much to pay? Posted: Sun November 1, 2009 03:37 AM UTC
How much should I expect to pay for a taxi from the port to ephesus entrance and back? Is the taxi ride per person or metered or standard fare?
How much do the tour guides at the entrance gates charge?
I understand there is no bus option from the port to ephesus...
thanks,

Dubai friends, i need your help Posted: Thu October 29, 2009 02:01 PM UTC
Hello, my pblm is the following.
Four of us (senior people) will arrive on a friday evening 11.35 pm in Dubai with Emirates. We shall continue our trip to Sydney on following sunday morning.
My idea was : we take a cab to Deira area to reach our hotel. ON sunday morning, in order to avoid trafic jams, we take a car back to the airport.
BUT i have read somewhere that, in the metro, passengers with suitcases are not authorized to travel. Is it true ?
If we decide to leave luggage at Terminal 3 and carry on the same project (taxi one way + metro - without suitcase) can we leave our luggage in a luggage storage in Terminal 3? What would you do yourself in my place ?
Thanks for your help.
