Warsaw Warsaw - Hotel shuttle service from Airport?
Posted: Wed November 4, 2009 03:29 PM UTC
I read somewhere that some of the downtown hotels offer free shuttle service from the airport. I don't know if this is true. Does anyone know? We're planning on stayindg somewhere in the main hotel area, in the vicinity of Ogrod Saski. Is this an OK location, or are there better alternatives?

Krakow Krakov for living
Posted: Tue October 27, 2009 10:20 PM UTC
Hello,
A bit outside of traveling. I'm considering moving to Krakow. I already heard it is really nice city, that there is lot of bar/pubs (but I'm not a heavy drinker so...)
So for the one who visited, do you think it would be a place where you would live ?
How social are the people there ?

Thanks

Poland Short trip Krakow Wroclaw or Krakow Warsaw?
Posted: Sat October 17, 2009 05:41 PM UTC
Hi, it is worth it to visit Wroclaw by train form Krakow only for a day?. That is going by train early in the morning and returned in the last train to Krakow.
I have read that Wroclaw is a small city...it is posible to visit the old town only for a day? Or it is better to visit Warsaw for a day? I am going to Krakow and I woulk like to spend only 1 day to visit another city, but not to sleep there. I would like to go by myself, not with a tour. Many thanks for your help`.

Poland In Play Phone Company don't spek English - what company you suggest?
Posted: Fri October 16, 2009 03:24 PM UTC
I am very disappointed with Play phone company here in Poland.
I bought they service and used it for a few weeks. Once I wanted to
buy more time I went to Play store in Galleria Krakowska. To my
shock I was treated in the most rude way by two sales people.

They both proclaimed that they were not speaking English and all
my efforts to explain what I needed were in vain.

All I heard was :" I don't speak English, I don't speak English".

They would not even look at me as if I came there to steal not
in fact to give them my money.

I am in absolute shock! I am an avid traveler and never ever in my entire life I was treated like this.

Please help me with some suggestions what company should I go for, since I am staying here few more weeks and I have 1 Zloty on my account.

I strongly suggest - stay away from Play in Poland!

Warsaw One day in Warsaw with kids
Posted: Thu October 8, 2009 08:51 PM UTC
We are flying from Cyprus to Norway and by far the cheapest way to go is by LOT airlines to Warsaw and then on to Oslo. This route does mean that we have a 10 hours stopover in Warsaw and I'd like to do something during that time. I will be travelling with two children aged 6 and 9 so not too much walking! Any suggestions would be great, i.e. best way to get into town from the airport, any child-friendly things to do, etc.

Hi Everyone,

I was wondering if you could suggest some "must sees" in Krakow in just one day - we were going to have more than this, but unfortunatly we had some problems with our flights and we're planning to see Auschwitz on our second day.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Please, I am planning a three day trip up the mountains of the Sudeten. I am not interested in skiing. Just a pinturesque mountain village to walk around and take in lovely views, have some coffee and relax.
Now I am not sure which of these two towns is prettier for just relaxing in December. Sklarska Poreba or Karpacz?
Can someone please give me some tips?
I will be trave;ling from Wroclaw.

Poland Do you know of a town called "Apt"?
Posted: Tue September 22, 2009 01:04 PM UTC
There is a wonderful book about a Jewish man who has painted pictures of his childhood memories of pre-war Poland. It's a wonderful collection of memories and cultural/religious stories which is a refreshing change from the typical dismal things we hear and read about. He grew up in a town called "Apt" which I believe would have been in southeast Poland. Does anyone know what that town would be called today?
