Hope someone can help!! I am taking my Man to see the TT in Assen this June and I am unsure of the best travel accomodation?
I.e. do we stay in Amsterdam and travel to Assen on the day?
How long is the train from Amsterdam to Assen
Or should we stay in Assen?

Who can tell me some interesting things to do around the village 'Beilen' in Drenthe for a group of 20-25 year old people?

I have recently moved to the Netherlands. I am considering renting a place in Desselt about 15 miles from Assen. I would rather not use a personal vehicle, so would you tell me the best method of traveling from Desselt to Assen using bus/train? Thanks for you help.

Whats the most convenient means to travel to Hollandscheveld from Westphalia, either Dortmund or Gelserkinchen in Germany? Are there trains that go straight there from the said German cities and how much would the typical fares be? I'll most likely be coming from Dortmund and want to visit a friend over but I don't want to drive. Thank you for your advice.

I'm planning a Trip to Dordrecht with my Wife between Late April - May 2005 , I would like to know following

1. How easy it is to commute between Dordrecht and Amsterdam ? are there any website for tarin timings etc ?

2. Then we plan to move from Dordrecht to Brussels and Paris , what are the best Train connections ? any websites to give such info will b really appreciated.

3. would like to know a couple who can show us around in Dordrecht.

The very convenient morning flight from Stansted to Eelde has been cancelled, I believe. I travel from Canada's far-west coast to Eelde and enjoyed flying Air Canada from Vancouver to London (Heathrow), then taking the bus to Stansted and catching the one hour flight to Eelde. It was quick and reasonable! I am at a loss now that this valuable service has been changed (the new time schedule would necessitate a sleep-over in/near London and who can afford that!).

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

We live in suburban Canberra Australia.
My wife has not been back to Gieten since about 40 or more years ago.
We are thinking of doing a Tour around Europe in May 2005 - ending in Paris - catching the train to Amsterdam and then onto your area to see her old town and old sights.
So what is the best way to do it?
Trains, buses and how frequent are the services.

After thinking i'll be moving to Aberdeen, my company decided to send me to Assen for 8 months

I visited Amesterdam about 10 years ago and haven't been to the Netherlands since- this is also my first time working as an expat

Any tips will be extremely helpful, but the ones i can think of so far are:

1. A colleague at work recommended living in Groningen and commuting to Assen for work- what is the distance? and is the public transportation good?

2. What are the reasonable rates for accomodation (I'm single) in both Assen and in Groningen? where are the better places to live in both (safety, close to shops/town, close to public transport, etc)?

3. Do i need to learn Dutch?

4. I can't live without the internet :-) - what are the best internet service providers?
