Groningen Settling there
Posted: Wed August 16, 2006 07:13 AM UTC
Hi,
I badly need some information before I arrive in Groningen on the 29th of August:

1. All the phone providers' websites are in Nederlaand. If I want to get a cellphone, which provider would you recommend. All I need is good customer service and quality product. I am willing to pay up to 50 Euros per month.

2. Where is the best place to go shopping for grocery in the city?

Thank you very much for answering these questions.

Regards.

Groningen Organising a Tourist trip from Groningen
Posted: Sun July 17, 2005 02:03 PM UTC
I've been in Groningen for a few months now, and will have some close friends visiting this week, would like to organise a nice time for them while here (I have a car)
Where would you take your friends? (we're all in our early/mid twenties)
1. In Groningen
2. Throughout Holland (amsterdam, rotterdam, etc day trips)
3. Germany (I know its a short drive from Groningen, but never went there!)

We're interested in unique experiences (i.e. outdoor festivals, circuses, musicals, outdoor fun, etc), with english speaking facilities

Thanks in advance :-)

Groningen Best nights to go out?
Posted: Thu May 26, 2005 06:25 PM UTC
Hi,

I was just curious what the best nights are to go out clubbing/bar hopping in Groningen (i.e. when the uni students like to party), and when the school go on break and the town becomes 'deserted'?

Thanks!

Groningen Live Music
Posted: Sun May 22, 2005 01:28 AM UTC
I wanted to see a show at VERA in Groningen next month. However, the tickets are sold out. What do you think are the chances of obtaining a ticket if I just show up? I heard there are people sometimes selling tickets outside for a more expensive price, which is okay...
I really want to see my favorite band, never seen them live, and it is my only chance...

Thanks for any info,
Tiffany

Groningen Studying in Groningen
Posted: Sun December 12, 2004 12:12 AM UTC
I am going to do an internship in Haren, next to Groningen, next year.
Is it a cosmopolitan city? If not, is it easy to travel to Amsterdam and Utrecht?
And how can I find accomodation? What do you suggest? It's hard to find fellowships, so I am pretty much screwed money-wise...

Groningen Van Goghstraat accomodation in Groningen
Posted: Sat November 27, 2004 09:42 AM UTC
I'm moving to NL for few months on a work related assignment. Although i'll be working in Assen, the people i'm corresponding with recommend living in Groningen (we'll all pool transport together)

The company is telling me there is a slim chance of finding an available apartment in Van Goghstraat (where most the ppl im corresponding with live), and I was wondering if anyone knows of any closeby areas I can search in....also does anyone know if there any apartment renting websites I can find that are in English? (No dutch, but from surfing so many dutch websites I think i am picking it up ;-) )

Groningen History
Posted: Tue November 23, 2004 08:19 PM UTC
Hello there!

I'll be staying in Groningen from 27.12.-5.1. Culture is my main interest and I'm looking forward to seeing your museums. I'm also planning to see Kamp Westerbork and Bourtange.

My question is: could someone tell me if there are other historical places near Groningen. I'm especially interested in military history so are there any battlefields nearby or military museums. How about castles or similar buildings?

Thank you for your help!
