I have been told and read in old Natchitoches newspapers, that the Origional owner of Charokee Plantation was Charles Emile Sompayrac. Also there is a famous duel that was held on the back of Charokee plantation in 1839. The Bossier-Gaiennie Duel. I have heard they re-enact this every fall. Also why are the origional owner's of the plantations names not mentioned on almost all of these?
I would like to know what you know about this... Thank you.. |

we are in the process of renovating an old building in natchitoches and were wondering if you knew someone who might have some old pictures of the building for our restoration process. it was the old starlight commisary, not the starlight plantation, the building sits on hwy 494 any thing will help thanks
