Maastricht Brussels to Maastricht - Best Way
Posted: Tue April 29, 2008 06:20 PM UTC
I am flying into Brussels on a Friday morning at 7 AM. I need to get to Maastricht by 4 PM. What would be the suggested method of getting there? I am getting conflicting information on train and bus scheduling sites to thought I'd try here.
Thanks, Will

Maastricht Cost of bus from Maastricht to Liege/Leuk ?
Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 07:35 AM UTC
Hi again:

Does anybody have any idea how much the bus from Maastricht to Liege/Leuk costs?

What bus number is it?

Can I buy the ticket at CS or around the area at a ticket office?

How long does it take?

Am I correct that strippenkaarts are not accepted?

I was pondering whether the train or the bus was the best option. Price and time are big factors.

As always, dank u wel.

Maastricht Veolia ticket office near Maastricht CS?
Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 07:32 AM UTC
Hi again.

I might as well change my name to 'veolia', since I have so many questions about their service.

Ordinarily I buy a ticket from the driver to get into Aachen from Maastricht. I imagine that this is more expensive. It always seems to cost around 8 Euros or so for a round trip.

Is there a place that sells Veolia bus tickets either in Maastricht CS or around the station?

Any idea what the cost would be for a round trip for one person?

If I'm not mistaken, strippenkaarts are not accepted on 420.

Thanks.

Maastricht Does Veolia Train/Bus From Maastricht To Valkenburg Accept Strippenkaarts?
Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 07:28 AM UTC
Hi there.

I am going to spend some time in Valkenburg instead of Maastricht this year, and have many transport questions.

I'll start with this one.

I know that Veolia operates a train from Maastricht to Valkenburg.

Does anybody know if the train accepts strippenkaarts? If so, how many zones would I have to stamp?

Also, if choosing a bus route, what line would I use from outside Maastricht CS?

Any idea how many strips/zones this might take?

I go to the o.v. page for advice, but it isn't really clear about how many zones it would require, or if the train takes strip tickets.

Thanks for your help, as always.

MVG,

Knetter

Provincie Limburg Any tips for events or destinations for a family visiting Apr 24- 30?
Posted: Mon April 7, 2008 01:58 AM UTC
Later this month we will be travelling to Holland and staying in Nijmegen for a week. The family consists of ourselves (two adults and a girl, 16 and a boy 13) and my parents. We will have a rental car and are eager to explore.

My parents were born in the Netherlands and speak the language... we will be visiting their birthplace in Noord Holland / Friesland but they've never visited Limburg (or Gelderland? for Arnhem and Nijmegen).

We all love history, cultural festivals, hiking, architecture, etc. I've received many tips from reading VT pages... if anyone could particularly recommend an event or exhibition thats not to be missed, we would welcome your suggestions!

A question about the Roman road (the Limes?) that was discovered recently near Utrecht? Can that be visited or is it still under excavation? We will be visiting Xanten in Germany so that would be a connection to the Roman history in the area. Any other suggestions?

I have another request for ideas to help my kids complete some special assignments for school while they are in Holland. I will post them in another Forum Post because this is so long already.

Thank you in advance for your ideas!

Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 10:51 PM UTC
Hi, it's hard to find out info about this hotel online. But the location and price is very convenient. Does anyone know anything about it? Mostly I'd like to know if it's clean and if still exists because it's not on any of the hotel booking sites.

Hotel De La Station
Stationsplein 9, Roermond

Thanks!

Provincie Limburg advice on Limburg
Posted: Tue February 12, 2008 05:48 PM UTC
Hi VT members,

I was wondering if you can give me some advice on Zuid Limburg.

a) Is it easy to drive in Zuid Limburg on the hills?

b) Where should I go if I want to see hills set in beautiful landscapes for
photography and a super time for my dogs?

c) Do Slenaken and Gulpen have what I'm looking for? Amazing hilly landscapes?

d) Do you know how long the drive will be from Amsterdam?

Thanks

Maastricht Restaurant help
Posted: Wed November 7, 2007 09:08 PM UTC
We will be there tomorrow for one night.

We would like a fun place/casual but not too expensive. Any ethnic cuisine is interesting to us.

We are staying at the Botel and will be wandering toward that main square area where all those restaurants are too. We are willing to walk across the river of course for the right place. Thanks bunches.

Maastricht Getting to Maastricht from Aachen
Posted: Fri June 1, 2007 10:37 AM UTC
I am planning on going to Maastricht from Aachen. They only lie about 15 km from one another, but since there is no direct train line running between the 2, the journey takes over an hour!

What is a quicker, better way to make this journey? Is there a coach that one can take? We will be a group of 4, so would it be better take a taxi? Any help is appreciated!
