After three successful meetings in 2003, 2005 and 2007 it is time for the 4th
bi-annual Maastricht meeting. The date has been set for Saturday August 29.
This meeting will be a culinary delight. Maastricht is known as a city where
people enjoy life to the fullest, take things slowly and spend their evenings
wining and dining.
This weekend also hosts a culinary event Preuvenemint, where you can sample
different dishes from many local restaurants.
During the day we will also stop in a few shops, pubs, restaurants, bakeries
etc, to sample some great local dishes, coffees, drinks, pies etc. There are
beautiful pies at the Bishops? Mill, you can buy the best coffee at Blanche
Dael, we could also make our own pies, have a tour through a wine cellar or
visit a local brewery.
Please let me know if you want to attend, or sign up at:
Are there any train or bus line going from Aachen to Roermond, I'm travelling from France and the cheaper way for me is to take the Thalys up to Aachen ( my final destination being Swalmen).
Thank you very much
I was in Maastricht in April and early May and uopn arrival at the train station I quickly noticed that all the trees that had lined Stationstraat were gone. However a few days later I needed to walk to the station amd I noticed that new trees had been planted. Does anyone on the board know why the old trees were removed? The entire area looked much different without the shade of the old trees
I need to travel from Maastricht to Charleville-Mezieres on 10 June 2009. I am not keen to rent a car. What is the best mode of transport and the best route? How much time do I need?
Euregio pass? Posted: Wed April 1, 2009 02:27 PM UTC
Last year my wife and I purchased a 1-day pass at the Maastricht train station which was good for any type travel in the surrounding Limburg and Belgium area. As I recall it was a "Euregio Pass" and I am sure I have misspelled the correct name. We used the pass to travel from Maastricht to Veviers. Veviers was as far as the pass was good for so at Veviers we then purchased bus tickets on to Francorchamps for a day of racing. Are these type passes still available?
My 1st question is regarding housing. I would like to find my own apartment, a cozy place for preferable under 1000/month. I have a friend who is considering coming along, so with 2 people anything under 1500 would be preferable. I searched craigslist but could not find any listings for the maastricht area.
Secondly, is there a way to get to Maastricht without flying? My friend is terrified of flying and will only go if there is an alternate method.
What does it cost to purchase a train ticket that allows me to load my bike at the station in Maastricht and transport to Liege Belgium? In the past transporting a bike across the Holland Belgium border via the train has been about 30euro (Never understood the reason for the expensive price)and in turn I would simply cycle to Vise, the first stop inside the Belgium border and load the bike in Vise. This cost only 5-6 euro....this was a couple years past and I was just wondering if the Maastricht-Liege bike ticket had changed in price.
Also,is the train station construction in Liege near completion?
I would really apreciate if somebody could tell me if there is a bus service from Maastricht to Antverpen in Belgium. Where should I buy the ticket and how much it costs.
I am looking for a room to rent or share in Maastricht as close as possible to Universiteit Maastricht. I will be following a masters degree from the end of January 2009 until the end of the year.
I have a tight budget so I am looking for something very affordable. Something around 250 euros/month would be nice.
Please let me know if you have or know of forms of finding a place.
Thanks.
I am desperately searching for the height of the towers of the Onze lieve vrouwe kerk in Maastricht.
Can anyone tell me where i can find data about that?
Hi, i am brazilian guy, i'll travell to Maastricht next week so, i would know where the best places to buy a Notebbok.

I'll be spending this weekend in Maastricht and would like to know where I can take scenic photographs in nearby areas. We have a car, so we should be driving around. Is Noorbeek, or Gulpen, or Valkenburg worth a visit?
I will be visiting Maastricht in the middle of this month and will stay in a hotel in Maastricht but I am required to be in Sittard for meetings. This will be for two days. Would someone be kind enough to advise if commuting between Maastricht and Sittard is easy, do we get the cabs easily or a train or bus ? Also please advise as to how the leisure time can be spent other than pubs, bars, nightclubs. Appreciate advice.
I am looking for a shop to buy alcohol, better yet a shop that sells those miniature bottles of liquor, right away, can anyone help????? I am staying at Wyckerbruggstrat, at the Beaumont Hotel...thanks!!!!!
I am flying into Brussels on a Friday morning at 7 AM. I need to get to Maastricht by 4 PM. What would be the suggested method of getting there? I am getting conflicting information on train and bus scheduling sites to thought I'd try here.
Thanks, Will
I might as well change my name to 'veolia', since I have so many questions about their service.
Ordinarily I buy a ticket from the driver to get into Aachen from Maastricht. I imagine that this is more expensive. It always seems to cost around 8 Euros or so for a round trip.
Is there a place that sells Veolia bus tickets either in Maastricht CS or around the station?
Any idea what the cost would be for a round trip for one person?
If I'm not mistaken, strippenkaarts are not accepted on 420.
Does anyone know of any cafes or pubs in Maastricht that show the Formula One races? I have acess to a television but I would much rather watch while hoisting a few Ales.....
Later this month we will be travelling to Holland and staying in Nijmegen for a week. The family consists of ourselves (two adults and a girl, 16 and a boy 13) and my parents. We will have a rental car and are eager to explore.
My parents were born in the Netherlands and speak the language... we will be visiting their birthplace in Noord Holland / Friesland but they've never visited Limburg (or Gelderland? for Arnhem and Nijmegen).
We all love history, cultural festivals, hiking, architecture, etc. I've received many tips from reading VT pages... if anyone could particularly recommend an event or exhibition thats not to be missed, we would welcome your suggestions!
A question about the Roman road (the Limes?) that was discovered recently near Utrecht? Can that be visited or is it still under excavation? We will be visiting Xanten in Germany so that would be a connection to the Roman history in the area. Any other suggestions?
I have another request for ideas to help my kids complete some special assignments for school while they are in Holland. I will post them in another Forum Post because this is so long already.
