Monaco Garibaldi Forum?
Posted: Mon October 26, 2009 11:34 AM UTC
Hi there,

I've been asked to book a hotel near the Garibaldi Forum. Does anyone know if such a place exists, and if yes, where? I've been to Monaco twice and don't recall this name. I can't find any reference to it in Google.

Many thanks in advance!

Monte-Carlo Strange question about a Monte Carlo street
Posted: Sat October 17, 2009 02:15 PM UTC
Hi,

I'm trying to locate a place I've seen in a guidebook. There is a statue of four red letters that spell out the word "Love". There's nothing written to identify the place except that there is a Credit Lyonnaise bank next to it which is also shown in the picture.
The book is from 2006 so I'm trying to figure out whether the sign is still standing and if so what street it is on.
If there is a resident or recent visitor who knows what i'm talking about, I'd really appreciate your response.
Best wishes Chloe

Monaco URGENT!! English to French power point adaptor?
Posted: Mon August 24, 2009 07:34 PM UTC
A real long shot I know, but does anyone have any idea where my other half can get hold of an English to French power point adaptor in Monaco? He left all his adaptors in my case when I flew back to the UK from Geneva and he flew straight to Monaco. He's now got no way of charging his phone or laptop and is supposed to be working in Monaco all week! EEK!! He really needs to get one for tomorrow if possible. If anyone can point us in the direction of somewhere that sells them, excellent! If anyone in the Monaco area is feeling generous enough to lend him one, he will promise to return it on Friday! He's staying at the Hotel Forum if that helps. We'd really appreciate any help anyone can give us. Thanks in anticipation!

Monte-Carlo monaco and nice mini trains
Posted: Sat August 8, 2009 06:50 PM UTC
Hello, wanted to know how much these cost and where to catch them from. Taking an elderly relative to south of France and this seams the easiest way to have a quick look at the towns. Also, can you 'hop on and off'? Thanks.

Monaco Transportation to Nice
Posted: Sun August 2, 2009 10:35 PM UTC
I understand there is a bus near the Cruise Ship Terminal that goes to Nice. If so, where is it specifically? Also is it difficult to get a taxi from the cruise ship terminal to the railroad station and what is the approximate fare?

Monaco handicap access to Monte Carlo Casino
Posted: Sat July 18, 2009 03:53 AM UTC
I am 78 years old and use a cane for assistance. My cruise ship is docking in Ville Franche and I would like to gamble at the Place du Grand, the Monte Carlo Casino. I can not walk a mile up the hill. How can I get access to the Casino? The shore excursions offered will only get visitors as far as the Rock of Monaco, but not to the door of the casino. What do you recommend?

Monaco How does one blend in in Monaco? :-)
Posted: Fri March 20, 2009 01:57 PM UTC
I'll be in Monaco this weekend and have heard much about the richness and fabulousness of the Monagesques.

So is it cold there still this time of year? I'm only there a couple days but if the ladies are still wearing their fur coats then I'm going to have to bring my own (FAKE of course!)...

Anyone in town this Sunday and Monday night and feel like hanging out at Cafe de Paris, please get in touch!

Merci!

Monaco camping near Monaco
Posted: Sat March 14, 2009 04:48 PM UTC
Hi,

In April and May, three friends and I will visit the seven smallest states of Europe. Does anyone has any tips on camping near Monaco? I found the website of a nice campsite in Eze, France (7 kms from Monaco), but it isn't open yet in April. I heard Menton has some places as well - anything even closer? Other budget ideas are welcome too!

Thanks,
Fiepke

Monaco Monaco to Nice - continued
Posted: Sat March 7, 2009 05:28 PM UTC
How much would a taxi cost from the port area to the train station? Also, I understand that there is a bus station at the port area where you can catch a bus to Nice. Is this correct? Where exactly is it, how often does it run, and how long does it take to get to Nice? Anymore help would be so appreciated. Thanks

Monaco Monaco to Nice or not?
Posted: Thu February 19, 2009 02:57 AM UTC
Hi,

I have learned that we will disembark at the port in Monaco at 11:00. The ship will be departing at 19:00. We would like to go to Nice and see the old town and climb to the top to see the views etc.
1. How long will it take to get to Nice by bus or train?
2. Where do we catch either of them from the port where the ship will dock? How often do they run?
3. Is it worth going to Nice with this amount of time? I figure catching the train or bus at about 12:00 and leaving Nice at about 16:00 (3 hours in Nice?)
4. If there is time left over, would it more worthwhile stopping at Eze or strolling around Monte Carlo?
Thanks for all your help.

Monaco NCE to Monte-Carlo
Posted: Sat January 24, 2009 04:15 AM UTC
Could someone please inform me of whether the following statements are correct:

1. A cab ride from NCE to Monte-Carlo is about a 50 minute ride.
2. There is no train station in NCE airport, but there is one that is a 15 minute walk from Terminal 1.
3. The train takes about 20-29 minutes between the two.

Could someone let me know how expensive a cab ride would be from NCE to Monte-Carlo?

Thanks!

Monaco FOOD/BEVERAGE PRICES IN MONACO
Posted: Fri October 31, 2008 07:14 PM UTC
We will be visitng Monte Carlo in May 2009 and are hearing horror stories about how expensive food and beverages are. I was told $17 US Dollars for a beer and a simple sandwich for lunch will cost about $40 US Dollars! Is this correct info or am I being misled. We don't mind paying these prices in the casino and in the evening but am wondering if this is the pricing around town. Does anyone have any info on how expensive things really are there? Thanks

Monte-Carlo Helicopter transfer to Nice Airport
Posted: Fri May 23, 2008 01:46 PM UTC
Hi guys,

My boyfriend and I would like to take a one way helicopter transfer from Monte Carlo to Nice Airport in August. The cost per person on the Heli Air Monaco website is €99.00 per person. However, some other websites quote €69.00 as a guide.

Any suggestions on how to book the cheapest option? I don't want to leave it until I'm in Monte Carlo as last time I was there it was fully booked.

Thanks in advance!

Monte-Carlo Grand Prix for novices
Posted: Mon May 12, 2008 09:30 AM UTC
Hi everyone

We are staying in Nice, by coincidence at same time as Monaco Grand Prix.
We want to spend a day in Monte Carlo,by public transport, visiting Oceanarium etc, and thought it would be fun, never having seen a Grand Prix before to visit on the Thursday, the practice day, just to get a flavour of it, before all the crowds arrive.
Is this a good idea, if so, how best to see what's going on at minimal expense, eg which hotel to lunch at, and should we book? Or should we make sure to visit Monte Carlo earlier in the week, and skip any idea of the Grand Prix?

MERCI!

Monte-Carlo Another Casino Dress Code Question...HELP!!!
Posted: Fri April 18, 2008 09:49 AM UTC
I am backpacking around Europe and will be in Monte Carlo for a couple of nights and want to visit the famous Casino.

I have been doing some research and most people say to enter the "main" casino, you need to be wearing formal clothing.

I don't want to have to lug a paid of dress shoes around for 6 weeks when I am only going to wear them once...

So my question is:

Will I get into the main part of the Casino wearing:

Suit Jacket
Shirt
Tie
Jeans
Semi casual shoes

Help!!!!!

Hi, I am arriving in Monaco in the summer on a cruise ship. We will be in port from 09:00 to 20:00.
1. Where can I catch the bus to Nice from the cruise ship terminal?
2. When in Nice, what are must sees and dos?
3. Can I get off the bus at towns such as Eze?
4. Other than Eze, what other towns or villages should I consider getting off to visit?
5. How often do the buses run?
6. When in Monaco, what are the must sees and dos?
7. Are there any beaches in Nice or Monaco that are worth visiting for a short stop?
8. If you were stopping at Monaco for your first visit to the area, what would recommend to see and do for the time in port?
