Hi everyone

We are staying in Nice, by coincidence at same time as Monaco Grand Prix.
We want to spend a day in Monte Carlo,by public transport, visiting Oceanarium etc, and thought it would be fun, never having seen a Grand Prix before to visit on the Thursday, the practice day, just to get a flavour of it, before all the crowds arrive.
Is this a good idea, if so, how best to see what's going on at minimal expense, eg which hotel to lunch at, and should we book? Or should we make sure to visit Monte Carlo earlier in the week, and skip any idea of the Grand Prix?

I am backpacking around Europe and will be in Monte Carlo for a couple of nights and want to visit the famous Casino.

I have been doing some research and most people say to enter the "main" casino, you need to be wearing formal clothing.

I don't want to have to lug a paid of dress shoes around for 6 weeks when I am only going to wear them once...

So my question is:

Will I get into the main part of the Casino wearing:

Suit Jacket
Shirt
Tie
Jeans
Semi casual shoes

Hi, I am arriving in Monaco in the summer on a cruise ship. We will be in port from 09:00 to 20:00.
1. Where can I catch the bus to Nice from the cruise ship terminal?
2. When in Nice, what are must sees and dos?
3. Can I get off the bus at towns such as Eze?
4. Other than Eze, what other towns or villages should I consider getting off to visit?
5. How often do the buses run?
6. When in Monaco, what are the must sees and dos?
7. Are there any beaches in Nice or Monaco that are worth visiting for a short stop?
8. If you were stopping at Monaco for your first visit to the area, what would recommend to see and do for the time in port?

I am going to the tennis from April 21-27, 2008

Can you get a weekly train tickets to and from Nice?

Can you take a bus tour of Monaco?, or take a trip in a boat etc?

Can anyone tell me how much it will cost me to get cheap tickets to the Monaco Grand Prix? Standing room is fine. Also how do I best go about getting them? Are there scalpers selling them at the racce? Thanks

I am staying in San Remo Italy and planned to commute to & from the FI race in Monaco May 24 & 25. The morning train schedule does not get me into Monaco until 11:05 AM which means I miss seeing part of the racing events. Is there any other form of transit ie: intercity bus or taxi which leaves San Remo earlier & gets me into Monaco by say 9:30 AM Sat & Sun?
Any idea of cost?

Nice cruise terminal for celebrity cruises to monte carlo and monaco?
How much does it cost and what is the timing?

Planning to visit the Prince's Palace, Cathedral etc. Will be arriving in Villefranche. How far is it by train to arrive at these sights? Where is the train station and how far is the train station from where the ship will dock in Villefranche? What is the'rush hour' on the train during weekdays? Is the Cathedral where Princess Grace is buried close to the Palace? Do you have to take the bus after you get off the train in order to reach these tourist sites? Thank you very much for any advice.

How early should we arrive to be able to see the 11:55 changing of the guard ceremony? Also, how long does the ceremony last?

My husband and I are staying in Monte Carlo for 3 nights and 2 full days. We want to explore the coast (Cannes, Nice, Eze, Menton) and have been told by friends to rent a car vs taking trains, etc. We are flying in to Nice airport around 9pm and were going to rent a car at the airport and drive to Monte Carlo so that we have the car for the next 2 days of our trip. Is it safe to drive from the airport to Monte Carlo at night? Also, our flight out is at 7:45am and we were debating whether or not to return the car to the airport that morning or drop it in Monte Carlo the day before? Is the Nice airport really busy where it would take alot of time to drop the car off----woud it be better to take a taxi back? Thanks!

What is the best way to see Monaco and Monte Carlo. Is it best to go on an expensive cruise tour or can we get a taxi into Moncaco?

Going to Nice for the weekend with a trip to Monte Carlo planned. Want to be able to store some clothes for later on that night and wondered if there were lockers in the train station that are available for publice use?

They are meant to be of the same standard.

I am planning to stay in/around Monaco between May 21 and 28 (flexible dates).

We are going on a cruise in June and will spend a day in Monaco/Nice. We would like to have a look in the casino in Monaco but are a little unsure of dress code.

I am going to the Grandprix in Monaco this year. We have bought tickets for the Sunday races on the 27th of May. We are staying in our apartment in Juan les pines. I need information about the trains and timetables. Is it nesecary to book or reserve train tickets from Juan les pines to Monaco? If so. How do we do this? If not. Will there be seats avilable?

Does anyone know if taxis or shuttle buses are available to drive from the port, Villefranche to the Grand Casino? We are taking the Disney cruise ship in July and Disney wants $100 per person to drive to and from the casino for an evening of gambling. This seemed kind of high. It is a 45 minute drive each way so I was wondering if anyone knows of any other methods to get to the Grand Casino that would cost less. Thanks

We will be staying in Monte Carlo for 1 week and then venturing on to Tuscany for another week. We'd like to find a shop where we can bring our clothes and have them laundered overnight, so that they will be fresh for the second week of our trip. Does anyone know any facility like this in Monte Carlo area? Thank you!

We will be passing through Monaco and want to see the tourist sites. We would like to store our large suitcases. Are there lockers available at the Monaco train station? Or is there a luggage storage desk/service?
