Honolulu Luggage storage after cruise?
Posted: Thu May 1, 2008 11:21 PM UTC
We will be going on a cruise out of honolulu and when we get off of the ship we need a place to store our luggage for the day. We get off the ship in the morning and our flight is not until 10pm. We would like to go sightseeing or do something that day. But what do we do with our luggage?

Honolulu TOURING ISLANDS
Posted: Wed April 23, 2008 06:15 AM UTC
Hi. We have seven days at Waikiki but thought it might be good to visit the Big Island. Is it worth taking one of those day trip flights with tour? Also, with the Pearl Harbour Memorial; can you book ahead instead of having to line up outside (I've been reading other posts). If not, what's the best way to get there - tour coach, taxi or public transport? Many thanks for your help. :D

Honolulu Honolulu Stopover
Posted: Thu April 17, 2008 07:43 AM UTC
Hi everyone :-)

We have an all day stopover in Honolulu on our way to Vancover in September.
(arrive 7.45am Saturday morning & depart 10.10pm Saturday night).

Have just checked out the Honolulu Airport web site and says:

"Due to Security, Locker Storage is not available. We will not answer any e-mail regarding where you can store your luggage. The airport does not have this facility. You must ask the airline you are flying on if they can store it for you".

Anyone have any ideas what we can do for luggage storage in Honolulu so that we can go and sightsee and not have to worry?

Thanks

Honolulu Post NCL Cruise, What to do with baggage?
Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 08:02 PM UTC
Hi everyone. Any suggestions on what to do with our luggage between disembarking from our cruise ship and hotel checkin? My wife and I are taking the 7 day Pride of America Cruise. When the ship returns to port in Honolulu, we disembark at 7am, however, our hotel check is not until 3PM that day. I though of renting a car just to have someplace to put our stuff.

Honolulu One month accommodation recommendations
Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 08:15 AM UTC
Greetings
My partner and I are holidaying in Hawaii from June 18 for one month. Looking for a non-touristy beach side (or near) one bedroom condo/accommodation. Would prefer on Oahu but for a great place would be willing to travel. On a fairly tight budget so a place that is around $500 or less would be ideal. Any help or suggestions where to start looking would be appreciated.
Thanks again

Honolulu Hawaiian Hilton Village - which tower is preferred?
Posted: Wed March 26, 2008 06:43 AM UTC
I did a check on their reservation website and compare the prices with the different towers for the same type of room and it seems Alii is the most expensive followed by Rainbow. I can understand this because they are nearer the beach but why are Tapa, Kalia and Diamond priced about the same when Diamond Head Tower is much closer to the beach like Rainbow and Alii are? Which tower is currently most preferred for whatever reasons?

Honolulu Please suggest itinerary for 3 days
Posted: Wed March 19, 2008 12:42 PM UTC
My first visit to Hawaii next month and I will have maybe 3 full days to explore. I'll be on my own and using the local bus as my mode of transport. I'm more into natural sceneries like mountains, gardens, waterfalls, and I especially love flowers. But I'm open to suggestions especially for must-see, must-do stuffs. Will be staying at Hilton Hawaiian Village.

Your suggestions would much appreciated. Thanks.

This will be my first trip to Hawaii and I will have 4-5 days. I don't drive and I'm not sure if I will be able to get around with ease on my own. Would you recommend a reliable day tour operator? Thanks.

Would be staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village on a company trip but after the official business I would like to find a cheaper alternative hotel/resort nearby to stay a few more days at my own expense. Any recommendations? Anything under $100?

Honolulu Self-Serve Photofinishing Machines in Waikiki?
Posted: Fri February 29, 2008 07:08 PM UTC
Back home I can take a digital camera's memory card into one of several shops and plug it into a photofinishing machine and prepare my own prints. These machines are often yellow ones, made by Kodak.

I've looked around Waikiki but have not seen any such machines so far. Might anyone know if/where they are?

Honolulu USS Missouri, USS Bowfin
Posted: Wed February 27, 2008 07:01 AM UTC
In addition to the USS Arizona Memorial tour, I noticed that one can also tour the USS Bowfin and/or the USS Missouri.

I'm wondering if anyone has toured either of these vessels. If so, what are your thoughts?

Honolulu Reasonably Priced Great Meal in Chinatown
Posted: Sun February 24, 2008 01:40 AM UTC
My mom & I took the bus through Chinatown today on the way to/from the USS Arizona Memorial. It's much bigger than I remember - which is a good thing.

When we go for lunch there, which 2 to 3 restaurants would you recommend? Dim Sum would be our preference but not a necessity if there's something spectacular that is non-Dim Sum. Would prefer prices in the $ to $$ range, if possible.

Honolulu Inexpensive Parking In/Near Waikiki?
Posted: Sat February 23, 2008 07:52 AM UTC
I've been blissfully car-free in Waikiki but am going to rent a car for a few days. If I park the rental car where I'm staying, it'll cost $18 per day.

I got to thinking that there must be a place to park the car for less. We're staying pretty close to the Ala Wai Canal and the Zoo. I'm hoping that someone knows of some lots and/or parking spaces where we could parking it on the cheap or maybe even for free!

Any ideas?

Honolulu "The Boat"

Has anyone taken The Boat (part of the transit system) from the Aloha Tower to Barbers Point? If so, is it worth going on? Is there much to see at Barbers Point? Are there any restaurants there?

Honolulu How safe is a hotel safe??

I am going to be in Waikiki for a week. Would you recommend using my hotel safe for laptop computer, electronics, and cash? Would I be better off carrying cash on hand or using the hotel safe? I have read not to ever leave any valuables in my car rental...

I'm thinking of taking my mom to Hawaii next month. Might anyone suggest some hotels that we could stay at? Basically just 2 criteria:
1. 3-star or better
2. Less than $125 per night for a 2-bed room

Honolulu HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION NEEDED FOR ONE MONTH OVER CHRISTMAS 2007
Posted: Thu November 22, 2007 08:41 PM UTC
We are a couple who are coming to Honolulu on 18 December until 14 January to get away from London, England for an exteneded holiday. We would like to stay in good value holiday accommodation, perhaps a budget hotel or an apartment, where we can do a little cooking ourselves. We plan to relax on the beach most of the time so it would be a bonus if we could be based close to it. We would really appreciate some tips on where to stay that won't break the bank!

Thanks.

Honolulu Is it a good idea??
Posted: Wed October 31, 2007 05:22 AM UTC
Hey!
Me and my girlfriend just up and decided to buy an around the world ticket. The 1st stop is gonna be Honolulu. We do have money saved but the plan is to have a short vacation and then maybe work for a month or so. I guess my questions would be, is it wise to go there without any contacts? Is it easy to find comfortable but not too pricy accomodation for 1-2 months without a job to prove your income? And if, where would be the best place to find this? Any help would be extremly comforting and appreciated
thanks

Honolulu What is open on Thanksgiving Day?
Posted: Wed October 17, 2007 02:38 PM UTC
I will be in Honolulu one day only, on Thanksgiving day, while on a cruise. I wanted to go to the USS Arizona Memorial but its website says it's closed on Thanksgiving. Now I am concerned my self-touring will be limited by what's open and/or if tours will be avialable to contract near the cruise ship on that holiday. Any input is appreciated!
