| Atlanta | Places to go on my 21st!!! Posted: Sat September 8, 2007 03:22 AM UTC
I am turing 21 in October and I was curious to know whether Buckhead or VA Hightlands would be the best bet. I have done the whole Moondogs thing, but I want to do something that I will probably not do again, or not on a regular basis. I am definitly a bar person and do not like the club scene as much. I have about 30 people planning to come and they are all my age and older(college students from Kennesaw). So any suggestions would be fantastic! I am up for all of them!! Thanks soooo much!

Ok, 10 hours in Atlanta on Saturday, November 3. What to do for a first time visitor? Assuming my Delta flights are on time, I arrive at 5:20am and depart at 3:30pm from the Atlanta Airport. What shall I do? Any ideas?

| Atlanta | Marta subway Posted: Thu September 6, 2007 08:19 PM UTC
What time does marta stop running? There is a concert on saturday and it ends at eleven. They are encouraging people to only drive to the nearest marta station and take the train to piedmont park. So I am wondering if the concert ends at eleven or twelve will the trains still be running or are thousands of people going to be stuck without a ride?

| Atlanta | Left Luggage facilities in Atlanta? Posted: Tue August 14, 2007 05:49 AM UTC
Hi, we will be routing through Atlanta next month and we have a long ( 10 hour) stopover before flying on to Eurpoe.
We are flying with 2 different airlines which means we'll have to collect our luggage then check it in again, with the new airline. With such a long stopover I was thinking of exploring Atlanta a little but of course that gives us the problem of what to do with our luggage. Are there any facilities for storing luggage at Atlanta, or is that a thing of the past? Would the second airline ( Delta) allow us to check our luggage in really early for the onward Atlanta/Paris leg? |

| Atlanta | City Centre Accommodation Posted: Mon July 23, 2007 12:20 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
I have a 24-hour stopover in Atlanta in August, and was thinking of booking myself into a city centre hotel for the night, so that I can walk around town and do some sightseeing before going back to the airport in the afternoon. Can anyone recommend a hotel in the centre of town, which isn't too expensive? Thanks! Birgit |

| Atlanta | Extended Stay Posted: Sun July 22, 2007 08:58 PM UTC
My boyfriend is coming from the London area for three months in February to visit. He doesn't want to stay in a hotel and can't stay with me. I was wondering if any on you know about any vacation rentals. I found some for about 1400 but was hoping I could knock it down to 1000. We are looking for something in the Atlanta area although anything in the Clayton/Henry area would be fine too, as long as it's safe.

| Atlanta | Pet Friendly Atlanta Posted: Tue July 10, 2007 02:41 AM UTC
Hello all,
I will be making a trip for a couple nights in Atlanta, in about 2 weeks from now. I have a new member of the family, by way of an adopted Jack Russell. Anyone familiar with the area where IKEA is located, and know of any decent hotels in the very near vicinity, which are likely to be pet friendly? I could use some help here. Or if you don't know the answer to this question, perhaps you know the name of that neighborhood. |

| Atlanta | Question about Atlanta airport transfer Posted: Sat July 7, 2007 10:00 AM UTC
Hi!
Just a question about transfering flights in Atlanta. I am flying from San Franscico to Barcelona via Atlanta, and I'm a bit upset because I just have one hour to change flights (luckily I don't have to check-in again). I know atlanta is an enormous airport, so I'd like to ask whether someone around here in the forum knows a bit more about the airport and could tell me how far the boarding areas can be. I imagine flgihts to Europe must be boarded in different area. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! |

| Atlanta | How many nights in Atlanta? Posted: Sat April 21, 2007 05:15 PM UTC
Hi
We fly into Atlanta to start a 16 day flydrive of the southern states in mid July. I'm thinking of a couple of nights in Atlanta to start the vacation - will that do the city and surrounds justice, or should I stay longer? Any ideas of what to see would be helpful - we like tourist attractions, history, music and baseball ..... Thanks in advance! Mike |

| Atlanta | Fly Drive - Southern States of America Posted: Tue April 17, 2007 07:40 PM UTC
Hi
I've got flights and a jeep booked in and out of ATL for two weeks in July / August and I'm trying to find "must not miss" places to visit in Georgia, Tenesee, Louisiana and elsewhere in the Southern States. Conversely if there are places to avoid that would be useful too! We love music of all types and are keen to see Historical sites and National Parks. We like a ball game when we can as well. We typically cover 1500 miles round trip - and would be really grateful for ideas. I appreciate any ideas you have. Best regards Mike UK |

| Atlanta | Visiting from South Africa, need hotel recommendation for an Expo in May at GWCC Posted: Sat March 17, 2007 07:16 PM UTC
Hi All
We are displaying products at an Expo at the GWCC in May. 3 guys about 50'ish. Will be working at GWCC during the day and need a place to sleep/eat at night. Won't be hiring a car, probably using MARTA if the Expo bus service can't reach us. Can anyone recommend an hotel convenient to MARTA & restaurants that will not break the bank? (3 star). Thanks in advance Gerald |

Anyone know how safe the following areas are?
--10th Street/W Peachtree St NW/Spring Street Is it easy by foot to get around these areas, especially at night? Is it MORE or LESS ideal to stay at Regency Suites on W Peachtree St NW/10th St as oppose to Marriott Suites on 14th Street? Why? Thanks in advance for any input. |

| Atlanta | Moving Advice PLEASE!!! Posted: Mon January 22, 2007 11:25 PM UTC
I'm a 25 y/o single female with a small pet who is relocating to the Atlanta area. I'll be working in East Point and going to school in Morrow. I don't want a long commute because I will be quite busy. However, I am bit nervous about living on the Southside. It seems a bit unsafe.
Are there any nice pockets that you would recommend? I am on a budget and don't want to spend more than $850 in rent. But, safety is of the upmost importance to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

| Atlanta | Long Weekend in Atlanta Posted: Sun January 14, 2007 11:34 PM UTC
I just booked a long weekend in early February to get away from winter for a few days. Now that I booked this, I realized I need to know what to do. I arrive early Friday afternoon and leave Tuesday morning. Staying in Buckhead. So, here are my questions:
1. How should I go from airport to hotel and vice versa? 2. I'm in my mid-20's...what should I do for fun? Where should I eat? 3. I'd like to see the aquarium and the High Museum for sure, possibly the zoo if the weather's nice and I want to be outside. Should I do the city pass thing, or just pay separate admissions? Will I need reserved tickets or can I get them the day of? 4. I love, love, love to shop, especially at funky, artsy, local places. Any suggestions on where to find these places? 5. What about transportation? Is public transportation easy to navigate? Do they offer any sort of weekend pass type thing? What about walking places? Would that be do-able? 6. What's the weather like down there in early Feb? I'll be coming from the wintery north, so anything above 25 degrees will be welcome. 7. Any good, reasonobly-priced spas for a massage and a pedicure? |
