Atlanta LA to Atlanta via Charlotte, NC
Posted: Sun December 30, 2007 04:15 AM UTC
I read that airlines jack up their fares in their hub cities. I confirmed this by checking air fare from LAX to ATL which is $320.00. If I search LAX to Charlotte, NC I'm routed through Atlanta and the fare is only $178.00. I would be on the exact same flights. I understand that I would not be able to check bags. I'm wondering if anyone had successfully traveled this way? Both directions require a change of planes. Getting off in Atlanta will be easy however I'm not sure if I can check-in (return flight) in Atlanta when my flight was to originate in Charlotte? Would love to hear any experiences or words of wisdon.

Atlanta Sunday Morning Marta Train Schedule
Posted: Sun December 16, 2007 04:25 PM UTC
We are looking for a very early train/subway ride to the Atlanta Hartsfield
Jackson International Airport. Where is the exact time of the MARTA trains
running extremely early on Sundays? Is it true that all trains are very delayed just because it is Sunday? We are concerned about being at the airport two
hours early, or even earlier on Dec. 23rd just before Christmas! Our flight is
scheduled to depart at 7:25 A.M.!!!! Please help us to locate more info.
We are guessing that the long term parking lots would be full if we drove.:(
Thank you! Most Sincerely, Evie

Atlanta Salt Lake -> Atlanta -> Copenhagen @ Christmas
Posted: Wed December 5, 2007 02:52 AM UTC
Howdy. :)

I'm flying home to Denmark from Utah this Christmas on Thursday the 20th, catching a connecting flight in Atlanta. The airline is the same, and the luggage will be checked through all the way. All the same, I only have an hour's layover - is that enough time to get from gate to gate? The terminal is the same - it's quite confusing because my itinerary says it's the Southern Terminal but according to what I read, the Atlanta terminals are labeled A-E? And I thought domestic/international flights were usually separated?

That question has been asked before, and I'm sure you're tired of answering it, but I'm wondering if it's really busy at Christmas-time and whether or not I can make it. As the last part of the question, can someone please explain to me how it works in Atlanta once I get off the plane from Salt Lake City... do I have to go through a huge security check again (is that the T-gate or main checkpoint), because I guess that's the only real thing hindering me from getting from gate to gate?

Thank y'all for taking the time to read this, I know this question is practically worthy of an FAQ, but it's vital that I make this flight, and I may have to re-book my flight..? Thanks again!

Atlanta Need a travel companion from east Tennessee to LA in Feb '08
Posted: Fri November 9, 2007 08:42 AM UTC
I do not fly post 911...plain and simple. I plan to rent a car and drive to LA where I'll be working until August. Hotels have been booked along the way at a low cost of 25.00 a night for the 4 day trip. I need a dependable and trustworthy travel companion beginning Feb 8 of 2008 to share expense of rental car and gas. Overall the complete trip is very affordable for the right person.

Atlanta First time in Atlanta! Please help!!
Posted: Thu November 8, 2007 07:28 PM UTC
Hiya! I am taking an American domestic flight through Atlanta then international to Manchester, England. I have never been to Atlanta's Airport and I am very nervous! I booked my flight through Expedia.com and My itinerary says that I will arrive in Terminal South from my domestic flight and leave Terminal South for my international. What processes will I have to go through EXACTLY when I arrive? I have a 2 hour layover. Will I have to pick up my bags when I get there or will they be forwarded to my international flight? Will I have to go through security again when I arrive in Atlanta? Will i have to check in again? If someone could answer these questions I'd REALLY appreciate it! Thanks so much!!!

Atlanta Proposing in Atlanta??
Posted: Mon October 1, 2007 04:23 AM UTC
Hi,
I was hoping to surprise my girlfriend and pop the question while in Atlanta for our 6 year dating anniversary on Oct. 4th. i'm from just across the state line in alabama but we went on our first date to atlanta. my question is: Could Piedmont Park be a romantic spot for a proposal? maybe at the dock or gazebo or some other spot. something kinda' private. or does anyone have any other ideas of romantic spots around atlanta. we've visited the park on previous trips to atlanta but i'm sorta having second thoughts about the piedmont park idea. not sure. thanks for any help!

Atlanta Places to go on my 21st!!!
Posted: Sat September 8, 2007 04:22 AM UTC
I am turing 21 in October and I was curious to know whether Buckhead or VA Hightlands would be the best bet. I have done the whole Moondogs thing, but I want to do something that I will probably not do again, or not on a regular basis. I am definitly a bar person and do not like the club scene as much. I have about 30 people planning to come and they are all my age and older(college students from Kennesaw). So any suggestions would be fantastic! I am up for all of them!! Thanks soooo much!

Atlanta Marta subway
Posted: Thu September 6, 2007 09:19 PM UTC
What time does marta stop running? There is a concert on saturday and it ends at eleven. They are encouraging people to only drive to the nearest marta station and take the train to piedmont park. So I am wondering if the concert ends at eleven or twelve will the trains still be running or are thousands of people going to be stuck without a ride?

Atlanta Left Luggage facilities in Atlanta?
Posted: Tue August 14, 2007 06:49 AM UTC
Hi, we will be routing through Atlanta next month and we have a long ( 10 hour) stopover before flying on to Eurpoe.

We are flying with 2 different airlines which means we'll have to collect our luggage then check it in again, with the new airline.

With such a long stopover I was thinking of exploring Atlanta a little but of course that gives us the problem of what to do with our luggage. Are there any facilities for storing luggage at Atlanta, or is that a thing of the past?

Would the second airline ( Delta) allow us to check our luggage in really early for the onward Atlanta/Paris leg?

Atlanta City Centre Accommodation
Posted: Mon July 23, 2007 01:20 PM UTC
Hi everyone,

I have a 24-hour stopover in Atlanta in August, and was thinking of booking myself into a city centre hotel for the night, so that I can walk around town and do some sightseeing before going back to the airport in the afternoon.

Can anyone recommend a hotel in the centre of town, which isn't too expensive?

Thanks!

Atlanta Extended Stay
Posted: Sun July 22, 2007 09:58 PM UTC
My boyfriend is coming from the London area for three months in February to visit. He doesn't want to stay in a hotel and can't stay with me. I was wondering if any on you know about any vacation rentals. I found some for about 1400 but was hoping I could knock it down to 1000. We are looking for something in the Atlanta area although anything in the Clayton/Henry area would be fine too, as long as it's safe.

Atlanta Pet Friendly Atlanta
Posted: Tue July 10, 2007 03:41 AM UTC
Hello all,

I will be making a trip for a couple nights in Atlanta, in about 2 weeks from now. I have a new member of the family, by way of an adopted Jack Russell. Anyone familiar with the area where IKEA is located, and know of any decent hotels in the very near vicinity, which are likely to be pet friendly? I could use some help here. Or if you don't know the answer to this question, perhaps you know the name of that neighborhood.

Atlanta Question about Atlanta airport transfer
Posted: Sat July 7, 2007 11:00 AM UTC
Hi!

Just a question about transfering flights in Atlanta. I am flying from San Franscico to Barcelona via Atlanta, and I'm a bit upset because I just have one hour to change flights (luckily I don't have to check-in again). I know atlanta is an enormous airport, so I'd like to ask whether someone around here in the forum knows a bit more about the airport and could tell me how far the boarding areas can be. I imagine flgihts to Europe must be boarded in different area. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!
