Tampa Restaurant in Ybor for Bachelor Party? Help!!
Posted: Sat September 19, 2009 07:55 PM UTC
Going to be in Tampa for friends Wedding and Im planning the bachelor party. We will be staying and partying in Ybor City so I wanted to find a good restaurant to accommidate about 10-15 people. Columbia Restaurant looks good but I dont want to ask these group of men to pay those kind of prices. Im looking for more middle ground but still civilized, at least for dinner. I looked at the Spaghetti Warehouse, that ones a maybe and the Green Iguana might be the other extreme. Im looking for atmosphere and originality with affordable prices. I want to make my best friends bachelor party one to remember. Any Suggestions??? Thanks.

We're are looking for a location that will have good restaurant and bars within walking distance. Can some one tell me which of the following areas would provide such facilities.

Tampa Staying in Tampa but want to Drive to Clearwater Beach a few times questions..
Posted: Tue February 10, 2009 01:12 PM UTC
Hi I am trying to find a hotel in Tampa that is close to Clearwater Beach. The ones on Clearwater beach seem to be motels? or very expensive hotels. We love the Embassy Suites and what they include so there are a few in Tampa that I would love to book but don't want to make the wrong decision. Please give me your advice or if you have any hotels in mind in Clearwater or closer to it that are decent. The ones we are looking at are and the top is the closest to Clearwater but I don't know which one to pick, which one is close to stuff we might go to, we don't plan on going to Busch Gardens.

Embassy Suites Tampa - Airport/Westshore
Embassy Suites Tampa - Downtown Convention Center
Embassy Suites Tampa - USF/Near Busch Gardens
Embassy Suites Tampa Brandon

Tampa May weather and general swimming/location
Posted: Thu January 8, 2009 10:26 AM UTC
Hello All,

My hubs and I are coming down to your wonderful part of the world from UK in early May for 2 weeks - will it be hot enough to swim in the ocean/pools at this time of the year?

Any tip on best beach for swimming in the ocean and vacation rental 'on the beach front' - just miss the sun and beaches here in Europe. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks and all the best for 2009!

Does the trolley run from the Quality Inn on Dale Mabry to the Tampa Convention Center?

Or

What bus do I take from the Quality Inn on Dale Mabry to the Tampa Convention Center?

What is the cost for both modes of transportation?

What are the hours of operation for each mode of transportation?

Tampa animals or rides?
Posted: Mon November 17, 2008 11:32 AM UTC
We are a family of four including two adult children and we will be spending one day at Busch Gardens next month. Is it possible to see all the animals as well as ride all the roller coasters in that time or would we be better off skipping some things to concentrate on others. If so, what would you advise to skip.

Tampa Thanksgiving Dinner and other places to eat in/around Tampa
Posted: Wed November 5, 2008 07:35 PM UTC
My bf and I are arriving in Tampa Thanksgiving Day. Away from our families, just us two. It's our first time to Tampa - where do you recommend having Thanksgiving dinner? Nothing super pricy but nothing too low key either. We have a car so can travel around. Any other suggestions for great places to eat while we are in the area welcome as well. Thank you!

Tampa Best vantage points of the skyline
Posted: Thu June 19, 2008 08:26 PM UTC
I will be visiting Tampa soon and wanted to know where some of the best vantage points are for taking pictures of the downtown skyline. I know that in the immediate area is a Riverwalk (or some portion of one), Harbour Island, Davis Islands, Channelside, Bayshore Blvd., Hyde Park Village, the University of Tampa, and the financial district, but I am not sure about the walkability of all these areas and what kinds of vantage points they offer. In other words, if you were going to take photos of downtown Tampa, where would you go? There will be two children with us, so I certainly would be looking for places that have sidewalks or are otherwise pedestrian-friendly. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

Oh, one last thing, what's temp like during that time? Thanks.

Tampa Airport (TPA) Layover
Posted: Mon February 18, 2008 07:04 PM UTC
Hello all. I have searched the forums and tips but am still unable to determine if 3.5 hour layover is enough time to leave the airport. I have read in the VT tips that "Tampa" is only 5 miles from the airport but I have also read that cabs and public transport are scarce and traffic can be a bear.
We will arrive at 2:30 and then fly out at 6pm on a Saturday. I was hoping we could at least get out of the airport for an hour or two. Maybe see something or grab a quick bite and get back to the airport at 5pm.
Any input?

Tampa Going on a cruise
Posted: Sun December 30, 2007 06:44 PM UTC
Hi,
I have a group of 20 coming into Tampa to go on a cruise. We were all coming in a couple of days early to enjoy some things that Tampa has to offer. I was hoping someone had some good suggestions as to where to stay. We were hoping to avoid having to rent a car. Is there any hotel that is convenient to some attractions and things to do w/o having to get a car. We were hoping to find a hotel w/ shuttle service that would also take us to the cruise terminal. We were also hoping to stay in the price range of about 85.00-150.00 a night. If you have any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated! I'm so lost and I want this trip to be so good for everyone. Most of the people that are traveling have never taken a trip before and are so incredibly excited!! Thanks in advance for your help!!!!! It is most appreciated!!! Teresa

Tampa Hotel & rental car info
Posted: Tue October 16, 2007 05:56 PM UTC
Will arrive 11/20/07 in Tampa; need to know where to stay $60+ for the night preferably somewhere near a rental car office where I can pick up a rental car the following day. Two adults; don't need spa, valet parking, yada yada - just a place to sleep for the night. If restaurant nearby that's great; if not we'll cab it to somewhere. Any and all suggestions are welcome. I'll return the favor if you travel to NH. Thanks in advance for your help! Nancy in central New Hampshire.

Tampa Beachfront Hotels near Tampa, and advice in general
Posted: Wed October 3, 2007 02:22 AM UTC
Hello All!

We're planning a trip to the Tampa area in late October (2 adults/2 kids). We're planning on a day or two at Busch Gardens, then wanted to relax on a beach somewhere (or vice versa). Can anyone recommend some reasonably priced hotels on or near a beach close to Tampa (let's say within an hour or so)?

Any other advise or recommendations regarding the area would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Tampa Best route from Orlando
Posted: Mon September 10, 2007 06:31 PM UTC
What is the best route to take from Orlando (probably around Disney area-haven't picked the hotel yet)to the Tampa baseball game? It will be around 3pm on a Thursday. We will be driving back that night. I've mapquested, but any "local" hints would be great.
Also, anything else we should really see in Tampa, as it may be the one and only time we are there?

Tampa Cheap Hotel Near Airport
Posted: Thu September 6, 2007 02:26 PM UTC
Hi,

My wife and I, along with our two boys (10&7) need a hotel for one night near the airport. We aren't fussy, just want something cheap and clean with two double beds close to the airport. A place to eat nearby would be of benefit also if the hotel does not have a restaurant.

Thanks
