| Key West | Ocean Breeze Inn Posted: Wed January 16, 2008 04:40 PM UTC
While there are 2 nice reviews of this hotel, they are both from 2004. Has anyone stayed there recently who can provide me with some feedback?
Thanks in advance! |

| Key West | Scuba deaths Posted: Fri January 4, 2008 08:10 PM UTC
ummm.. I know this is kinda strange but....hubby found out that there have been 2 diving deaths in the Florida keys. I am the one who wants to dive but hubby is a concerned about this since the deaths have been reported. Can anyone tell me the location? or the name of the diving boats these people went on? And anything new on the investigation on the diving equipment?
It would be my 1st time diving. I was expecting to take a resort diving course. Wondering how safe. I do understand that 2 diving deaths in all the excursions is probably like shark attacks (few and far between) but this prompts me to do more research. Thank you |

| Key West | Can you tell me who the artist is? Posted: Tue December 18, 2007 12:59 AM UTC
I purchased this fused glass tile about 2 years ago in Key West, Florida, and would like to obtain more. I've since lost the card with the artist's name and the name of the gallery she worked out of (she was a young woman in her 20s/30s). I believe the word "cat" may have been part of the gallery's name.
The gallery was on a corner, near to a frozen key lime pie shop, and perhaps a couple of street away from a marina. I've researched galleries in Key West on the internet but can't find anything. If you can help, I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Louisa |

| Key West | Help with Duval St. Shop ID... Posted: Mon December 10, 2007 08:40 AM UTC
Please help me! A few months ago was down in Key West on Duval Street and my girlfriend and I did some shopping. The only piece of Jewelry shes ever seen and liked during the tenure of our relationship was in this one shop on Duval. As I recall, it was located on the "East" side of the road, probably somewhere near the middle. It was fairly upscale, and pretty nice inside. I remember seeing mostly women's clothes displays in the area in front on the door. The feel was a lot more trendy and designer feeling than most of the shops in that area. It wasn't just jewelery that they sold, in fact as I recall the only case that I saw was in the middle of the store. The space was pretty open, I think the store was open on both sides of the doorway and there may have been a slight ramp, or hand railing on the right. As I recall it was probably mostly womens clothes. If you have any ideas please... please help. I know its a long shot, nut I really need to get this ring for xmas and I cant find the time to make the 5 hour drive anytime soon. If you could give me a store name maybe I can make a call and hook this up! THANKS!! Corey

| Key West | Key West Over Thanksgiving Posted: Tue November 13, 2007 11:29 AM UTC
Hi.
I will be driving from Miami to Key West in the afternoon (3pm) of 21st November. Should I be expecting bad traffic? I am guessing 4 hours for a straight drive there. Does that sound about right? I am only there for a couple of days before heading back up the keys to Islamorada. Any Thanksgiving tips? I hope places are still open. I am travelling from the U.K. Thanks! |

| Key West | On Vacation from London Nov 18th- 25th, looking to meet new friends Posted: Thu November 8, 2007 05:07 PM UTC
Hi, I find myself travelling back to Key West again this year and unlike previous years will be holidaying on my own and staying at the Hyatt Beach Club resort. Anyone that lives or has been to Key west before knows its a great place to get out and about at night, but not probably on your own.I just wondered if anyone else was travelling to Key West or living in the Keys that would like to hook up share a beer or two, maybe the odd meal, a chat and help me enjoy my holiday experience, as I think a good holiday is better shared with friends even if they are new.
if interested drop me a line and maybe we can chat. Russ. |

| Key West | Best restaurant recommendations? Posted: Wed November 7, 2007 01:38 PM UTC
Hi again...so, my hubby and I will be in KW in January. It is a surprise trip, so I am trying to plan in advance some of our excursions....is it true that you need reservations for most restaurants? We are in our late 20's and love to have fun and we are very laid back. One of the nights is my hubby's birthday. We don't need anything super fancy but I like the idea of really good seafood and maybe and off the beaten path "locals" atmosphere. What do you recommend? (also, how far in advance should I reserve?)

| Key West | looking for a sovenier Posted: Mon October 8, 2007 01:38 PM UTC
Hi,
My name is Raine Gibson, a fellow graduate. I completed my years placement in Key Largo. I spent one night in Key West and bought the most strangest of souvenires. I will describe it. It was a small bag: A florida Licence plate, looked like a smal tin, and had a handle. I had it broken and miss it dearly. I bought it from a souvenir shop on Doval street, i think. Would desperatly like to order another one to be shipped over, can any one help??? Raine Gibson: rainebows2358@hotmail.co.uk |

| Key West | 40th Birthday with a number of people Posted: Thu August 2, 2007 05:13 PM UTC
We are having a very hard time booking a trip to Key West in early Oct. So far, everyone (B&B types) has had a problem with a booking that exceeds 8 people. We have about 12. It's frustrating and amazing that these people will not book us even if they have the room. I am celebrating my 40th, and we want to share KW with some who have never been. I realize that we could have each party book separately, but we don't want to do that. I would hate to deceive the place we stay in like that. Any ideas? Oh, and we are very good friends (some single, some married, some involved) who like to have fun. We are respectful, but certainly not THAT quiet.
Thanks for your help! |

| Key West | B&Bs with no minimum stay required Posted: Sun July 29, 2007 09:34 PM UTC
Hi all, I'm planning a one-night trip down the KW over Labor Day weekend. I've been a couple of times and my mom's coming to visit and wants to go. So I'm trying to book a room, but every place I look has a 2 or 3 night minimum stay requirement over weekends and holidays. Does anyone know of a place that doesn't and is reasonably close to Duval?

| Key West | Question about nudity, body paint, etc. Posted: Wed June 20, 2007 02:01 AM UTC
My daughter is 12 years old and loves the whole pirate thing. I understand Key West has a Pirates festival in late November/early December. My wife and I were thinking about taking her. We've never been but we've heard things and that is what leads me to my question. I know it's not Fantasy Fest time, but I've still been told that you can never tell if someone is going to show up walking around nude or in body paint just while your out seeing Duval Street in the evening. Don't get me wrong, we're not prudes. My wife and I love seeing the "sights" and my wife would do it in a second if our kid weren't with us. However, we don't necessarily want our daughter to see it - at least not yet. So...can you guys shed some light on we might randomly encounter?

| Key West | End of July weekend in Key West Posted: Tue May 29, 2007 04:40 PM UTC
Hello all,
A friend and I are planning to visit Miami and Key West for a long weekend the end of July. We are planning to fly into Ft. Lauderdale, spend a night in Miami and then drive down to Key West. I need a few suggestions on a) Hotels in Miami(preferably on south beach or walking distance) and Key West (preferably on Duval Street). b)I heard the drive down to the keys is beautiful. Does anyone know how long of a drive that can be on a weekend? Also, i've read in multiple forums that one should make some stops on the way to key West but I am not sure where to stop at. Any ideas? Thanks y'all for your help. |

Traveling from Vancouver B.C. to Orlando for a convention in July. We are renting a car and decided to fly back home from Key West. We have 3 days to travel from Orlando to Key West and need to book hotels for the 3 nights. We have never been to florida and have no idea what area we want to spend these 3 nights! We want to for sure spend the last night in Key West. Any suggestions for us? We love the beach and great restaurants, not really into shopping for that short time. Thanks for any suggestions.
