What to pack? Posted: Mon December 22, 2008 06:47 PM UTC
My husband and I are going to Key West in May, 2009. Are most of the restaurants very casual? We would like to do carry-on bags. Are there any laundries in Key West??
Thanks!

Christmas in Key West Posted: Sat November 29, 2008 11:09 PM UTC
Traveling to Key West 12/24/08 for 4 days with husband, parents and 2 teenagers. What can you recommend to do during this time to keep us in the Christmas spirit. Anything unique to a Key West Christmas? Also looking for Christmas Eve services for a unique or quaint experience.
Thanks so much from a polar bear family looking to bask in the sunshine for the holidays

Snorkeling Posted: Tue November 11, 2008 01:19 AM UTC
My husband and I will be traveling to the Keys next week. WE are bringing our own snorkel gear and would like to know what areas can we reach on our own. We plan to do a couple of boat snorkel tours, but we really like to get out and explore on our own. Are there easy places to reach, and can you name a few.
Thanks

Very budget accomodations in Key West area Posted: Wed October 29, 2008 07:59 PM UTC
Any recommendations on budget accomodations in KW area? Hostels, motels, budget hotels? We'll be there Thanksgiving Wknd. We have a car. Doesn't need to be fancy. Just a clean bed and shower.
Unfortunately, The Gardens Hotel and Almond Tree Inn are out of our price range. :(
Is it better to stay outside of KW and just drive in? Everything seems to be walking distance so can we see KW in one day and leave or should we stay overnight?

Powerboat Racing Posted: Wed October 1, 2008 07:34 PM UTC
My husband and I were planning to come down Sunday, November 2, 2008.
Is it just crazy there?? Are shops, restaurants open on Sundays?
I am afraid that the power boat races are possibly going to take over our Key West experience.... Is this what will happen if we come down on that date???

Dry Tortugas or John Pennekamp State Park Posted: Fri September 19, 2008 08:24 PM UTC
HI. My husband and I are driving down from Ft. Lauderdale to the Keys during the first week in November. Our funds are very limited soo....my question is... Because of Your experiences, If you had to pick one, which would it be? Dry Tortugas or John Pennekamp State Park in Key Largo..???
I thought of either spending money on a Seaplane for 1/2 a day in the Dry Tortugas. Or spend money diving in Key Largo... It's a hard choice.. :(

Daughter's wedding in November - need some input, please! Posted: Thu August 14, 2008 11:14 PM UTC
My daugther is getting married in Key West in November. I've never been and have been planning the event via the internet and phone. I have booked a condo for the week for my husband and I at 907 White Street. The photos looked nice and I am HOPING the area is nice also. I have booked a room for my daughter and her husband at the Hyatt Sunset Harbor. I am looking at having a private dinner following the ceremony (to be held on Smathers Beach) - Was looking at Square One Restaurant. Checked with a few others, but as soon as I mention "wedding dinner" the price goes through the roof! If anyone can give me suggestions, assurances, etc. on my plans thus far and suggestions on a restaurant for the dinner (or let me know what you think of Square One), it would be greatly appreciated!!

Who Best To Charter Boat With In Key West ?? Posted: Wed July 16, 2008 05:17 PM UTC
When we were in Cuba we chartered a fishing boat. We were not serious about fishing we just wanted to go and give it a try, we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves we did catch some fish which was a real treat and good fun. We also sunbathed, had plenty to drink and did some snorkelling, then the guy's that took us out on the charter caught us a lobster each and cooked it for our lunch it was fabulous.
Where would you recommend us going to book this kind of charter. We are quite happy to go with other people.
Thank vyou Tracey & Craig. x

My hubby's son plays professional baseball..we will be in Tampa for a week...We are driving down to Key West the 17th of July for the night.. He hasn't been there since he was stationed there after Vietnam (69)..yes he's 60 but tons of fun.. I'm a "bit" younger.. We can't wait.. want to make sure I don't step out of the box too much on what we wear.. I really planned on just skirt and tank top over my swimsuit for the evening while checking out Duval.. or Sun dress.. but I'm sure we will be checking out the bars.. what's the best spots for one night there?? I've been checking them all out on line... and should I cover up a bit more???

Coming to Key West July6-10 Help!!!!!!! Posted: Fri June 27, 2008 02:10 PM UTC
I am coming with my family to Key West July 6-10. I have run into a slight problem, I will be bring a pull behind trailer with 2 jet ski's. The hotel where I am staying has informed me it will not be possible to park the trailer there. So i have called the city Marina and got a price of 50 a day, which seems a little steep. So I need some Help Please! What I am looking for is a place I can dry dock the trailer and possibly leave the jet-skis in the water at a reasonable price. Another option is like a storall place that has rv and boat parking.I also don't know the keys well enough to determine if there is a town 4 or 5 miles north of the keys that I can put there and then go get every morning . ANY suggestions would be helpful. Thanks, Rene

Public Buses/Grocery Store Posted: Wed May 28, 2008 08:46 PM UTC
Has anyone used the public bus system in Key West? Anytime I inquire about transportation the only thing that comes up is renting a car or taxis. I know there is a bus line though.
Also where can I find a big grocery store?
Thanks for the help!

Driving to KW/mile marker info please Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 04:31 AM UTC
We will be driving to KW second week Oct staying 8 days :) I'd like some information about mile marker stops along the way. I once found a list of some very interesting tips and saved it on my computer only to have the darn thing crash and all was lost :( If anyone has any good tips for good side trips or just quick stops along the way (and back), best times to travel, etc., I'd really appreciate it. (p.s I am aware of the strict speed limit enforcement.)

Need to find out the name of a Gallery on Duval Street Posted: Tue April 29, 2008 02:11 AM UTC
I was shopping on Duval Street last Friday (4/19). There was a small art gallery that also sold beach glass jewelry. In the window was a pearl necklace with a small silver star fish in the middle of the pearls. I can't stop thinking about the necklace and would love to call the store to inquire about it, but I don't recall the name of the store. The store was somewhere between 400 and 620 Duval Street, on the same side. If you know the name of the shop, please email me and let me know. Thanks!! I appreciate your help! Susan
