This thread seems very old but I am hoping someone still see it on occasion.
Will be in Florida the week of the 16th when a shuttle launch is expected to
go forward and I was wondering if there were good places to watch other than
paying at Cape Canaveral?

Any body out there who has "inside knowledge of the VERY BEST VIEWING AREA"
I have been unlucky so far on two occasions, when the launch was scrubbed in the final hours
Been eaten alive by midges at Titusville, and with twenty eight minutes to go
at the NASA Causway, ( at great expence) scrubbed once again
I dont want to have to see the KSC as I have now done it twice.I Have loads of e mail info on launch viewing sites and I am buried under a pile of print outs telling me DAELAWARE NORTHS ticket policies on viewing shuttle launches
So come on chaps any body got any ideas on how to "beat the system"
its a long way to keep traveling from England to keep missing this spectacle
so please would you ask any of the folks who just "may be able" to make my dream come true
thanks ... heres hoping 3rd time lucky

I am looking for an affordable shuttle service to transport my group of 4 adults and 3 children (plus luggage) from Port Canaveral to Orlando International airport. I would really appreciate some advise.
Thank you!

To Cruise out of Cape Canaveral, my family is flying to Fort Laderdale. Could you lpease advice as which way is best:
1. 1 way car rental from Fort Lauderdale, and drop off in Cape Cabveral, and checking into hotel the night before aborad the Cruise line. 1 Way car rental again, to go back Fort Lauderdale to fly back home.
2. Keep the rental car for the entire 7 days.
3. Should I stay at Fort Lauderdale or Cape Canveral before and after the Cruise for extra days.
Thanks!

I see the shuttle is scheduled to launch August 7. It just so happens that I'll be in Florida at that time. I have heard that it's quite a site to see. Can anyone give me some tips about where to view the shuttle launch, what to plan for (lots of crowds?, where to check status of the launch, etc.)
Thank you!
I love my VT travel advisors!

Hi,
We're staying in Cape Canaveral for 2 weeks in July. During this time we're having 4 days in St. Augustine. Can anyone advise from which towns it's possible to travel by bus? Also, could anyone give an indication of the cost of taxis, or a reputable taxi firm?
Many thanks,

I listened the launch to Pluto has been posponed because of the wind.
We will be in Cocoa Beach from 4th to 6th February 2006. Could we be lucky enough to see the launch ?. I do not see on the NASA website the date of the new launch.
Thanks
RAY

We are planing a short stay in Cape Canaveral in January 2006.
We will land in Orlando around 5:30PM and we will go directly to the hotel.
1/ I wish to know what would be the best location that means for me :
- 1 hour maximum from Oralndo airport
- on the beach
- near the space center
- with real life : stores, restaurants, etc..
2/ In the city you advice, do you know a good hotel :
- 150$ tax include maximum
- with a parking
- on the beach
- with a pool
Thanks
RAY

There is a lot of discussion in the US today about the cost of space exploration. I hear comments about lives and money being wasted. There have been many advances in science and technology from the space program. Has it been worth it? Why send humans to space ? I know what I think about it . What do you think?
