first trip to Colorado Posted: Sun November 8, 2009 09:10 PM UTC
Hello,
I'm going to Denver next June for the U2 concert and would like to do some sightseeing as well. Any suggestions for what to do and see, where to stay? It's a short trip, only a day or two so I'd like to see the mountains and experience the natural landscape.
Thanks

I'm wondering if there is anything like a double decker bus for seeing the city and can anyone tell me about a train that seems to have an open-air car for sightseeing?

Free day in and around Denver, what to do? Posted: Thu August 6, 2009 09:04 PM UTC
We'll be in the Denver area for a little more than a day in mid-August. What's fun/interesting/unique to do in the city? We're spending a couple days in the Vail Valley before we get to Denver, so we're looking for more city-ish things to do, but if there's nothing in the city, then what's the best use of our time?

Georgetown Loop Mining and Railroad Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 09:33 AM UTC
Is the Georgetown Loop Mining and Railroad tour worth the time and effort? Besides the train ride, is the Lebanon Silver Mine tour any good?
Any other suggested tours of mines available in the vicinity of Denver?
I'm thinking of combining the tour of Georgetown with my trip out to Mt Evans. Can the two locations be easily fit into one day of exploration?
Thanks.

Mt Evans Posted: Tue July 7, 2009 02:59 AM UTC
How safe is it to drive Mt Evans...even during the summer when the roads should be in pretty good condition? I saw pictures it the byway does not appear to have guardrails on the road...and it sure does look like a long way down if you should go over the shoulder....
Also....when driving from Denver downtown...where are some suggestions for places to drop off to visit?

Denver from Kansas City MO. Posted: Fri June 12, 2009 02:07 AM UTC
Hi,
We are still planning our frequently delayed cross-country drive. I understand that the trip between KC and Denver is looong and boooring. We are not on a timetable and would like some info about interesting(if any)minor detours along this leg of our trip. We are NOT campers, hikers, fishermen, or the usual outdoors type.
Thanks

First time in Denver Posted: Thu April 16, 2009 09:50 AM UTC
hey everyone,
Heading over to the USA and spending about 4 days in Denver in Sept(and surrounding area). Can anyone suggest some different things to visit there. Happy to get out of the hub of the city for day trips. Also anyone got any good ideas for places to stay close to the metro area. With the dollar the way it is against ours anything relative cheap but clean would be great.
Also are the big ticketed items in Denver worth seeing???
Thanks

Last minute trip to Denver for New Years. Any advice? Posted: Mon December 29, 2008 10:23 AM UTC
Going to Denver on a spur of the moment trip for New Year's. I'll be there this weekend and will likely be staying at the Raddison Stapleton hotel on Quebec since the rate is pretty cheap. I'll be getting a rental car, as I've been advised it's much easier to get a car to get from place to place. I'm hoping that there isn't any snow/ice that will thwart the usage of the rental car. Have the roads been fine the last week or so? Seems like this option will be much cheaper than getting a hotel in the Downtown area.
What are the neighborhoods for 20-30 year olds to hang out at night? Also looking for any cool rock n' roll clubs/dive bars.
Any input/advice for my last minute vacation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Suggestions on things to see and do in and around Denver??? Posted: Fri December 5, 2008 02:36 PM UTC
My wife and I have decided to take a road trip to Denver and the surrounding area around New Years. We'll have 4 or 5 days to split between Denver and 1 or 2 other cities. Probably won't do any skiing this trip just enjoying the area. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do in Denver and what other cities would be worth checking out? I appreciate any insight.

Good & Safe Denver Hotel Recommendations for Family Posted: Wed September 24, 2008 12:42 AM UTC
We will be in Denver for an extended weekend next month and I am trying to decide where to stay. There will be a child with us so I need to be sure the area is safe. We will be flying in and renting a car at the airport. We will be going to a Bronco game on Sunday and to the Aquarium one day. Not sure what we will do the rest of the time we are there as I'm not sure what all is there to do.
Anyway, I have been trying to decide whether to go through Hotwire or Priceline as I have heard you can get some great deals. They will not tell you the name of the Hotel until after you pay but we can pick the the star rating and the area. The problem is I don't know which areas to pick whether we go through one of these are just book a room on our own. Here are the choices.
Aurora
Cherry Creek
Denver Airport
Denver Southwest
Northwest Denver
Northeast Denver
Denver West
Denver Downtown
Littleton
Northglenn - Thornton
Stapleton
Tech Center North
Tech Center South
Westminster - Broomfield
We will stay at a 3 star or above hotel but which area would you choose if you flew into Denver, planning a Bronco game, visiting the Aquarium, will have a rental car plus we will have an 8 year old child with us.

Cabin for 2 with hot tub, near denver Posted: Wed September 3, 2008 06:51 PM UTC
My wife and I will be coming to Denver this Saturday 9/6 to spend a week. I will be in a conference downtown, but we would like to stay in a cabin in the mountains, close enough for me to commute. I don't mind the drive if the cabin location is worth it. There must be a BILLION cabins to choose from, so how do I find the right one? What we'd like, privacy, hot tub, comfortable bed. Nice is better than rustic for this trip but it needs to be a reasonable price. I've looked at VRBO and found some possibilities. But, without "local knowledge" it's easy to get led down the wrong road, so to speak. Any suggestions GREATLY appreciated! Our first time to Denver.

Easy Mass-transit into Denver Posted: Thu August 21, 2008 07:02 PM UTC
Greetings,
I'm planning or attending the INTERGEM show in Septemeber and have two choices of locations to stay. The show is out at 58th street. I'm wanting to stay downtown where I can enjoy innercity life. Is there a Tram that goes from the Denver Airport into the city center? Or is Super Shuttle the easiest way to get into town.
I prefer not to stay at Quality Inn on west 48th street, but need to get there each day for the Intergem shuttle.
Haven't been to Denver in 25 years so I'm looking forward to all the new changes. Please send info.
thanks, athena10

Traveling to Denver 8/27-29 for Obama Speech on the 28th, need lodging Posted: Thu August 14, 2008 12:21 PM UTC
my husband and I have credentials to attend the speech at Invesco Field on the 28th and I've looked all over Denver for lodging but it's really expensive [$300+] or nonexistent. I'm okay with B&Bs or Inns and even staying outside Denver if it would make sense in terms of transportation = I gather there is a Light Rail that goes to the south and if so, maybe we could lodge down there and take the rail in? Any suggestions or ideas, search engines don't come up with anything that will work. Thanks much.

35 min layover time in Denver Posted: Tue July 1, 2008 05:58 PM UTC
I've booked myself a trip to alaska in September. I'll be flying from NY La Guadia via Denver to Anchorage.
I had a 1 hour 10 mins stopover in Denver with United but now they have gone and changed the flight time of the first flight. now I only get a 35 min stop over.
Its not clear if I have to change planes although there are 2 different flight numbers.
The denver- anchorage plane is the last one of the day so if I missed it I'm stuck.
I bought a non refundable ticket but as they changed it do you think I could get my money back?
I can't believe they would advertise a 35 min layover and get away with it
Anyone know otherwise??
