Colorado Springs Denver Intl. Airport to Colorado Springs - Transportation Options?
Posted: Fri October 19, 2007 01:06 AM UTC
Besides renting a car, are there any inexpensive ways to get between these two places. I found one bus but it's $50 each way. That seems rather pricey to me for a 2 hour ride.

Colorado Springs Hotels/Motels in Manitou Springs/Old Colorado City
Posted: Fri June 29, 2007 02:39 AM UTC
Hi - will be in Colorado Springs with my other half (business trip) and are taking an extra 2 nights (July 12th and 13th) to do some sightseeing. Anyone have recommendations for a nice, not too run-down motel (or hotel) in this area? We really don't like hotels with interior halls and just a small window in the room (stuffy) - prefer direct access to the outside or at least a balcony/patio. Any locals out there, or anyone else who's been there recently? This thing is sort of last-minute and I'm running out of time! Thanks a bunch!

Colorado Springs Staying at The Broadmoor
Posted: Wed June 27, 2007 09:45 PM UTC
My husband and I will be staying at The Broadmoor for one night in a couple of weeks. We are really looking forward to it. We visited the hotel last year when we had brunch there and of course noticed that the hotel is HUGE and there is a ton to do. We wanted opinions on what not to miss at the Broadmoor from others who may have stayed there before. Thanks!!

Colorado Springs COS in June
Posted: Tue May 15, 2007 10:54 PM UTC
I have to be in COS in late June for business, but was thinking about staying a few days extra to see the place (never been there before). I know it is great during winter for winter sports, but any fun things to do in Summer? I love the outdoors and sightseeing and am not much into shopping, to make it easier to post your replies.

Colorado Springs relocating to COS from France
Posted: Mon March 12, 2007 01:56 PM UTC
Hi, I am French, living in France for the moment. My husband got a job in COS. He should start in June and I would join him in July with our 3 daughters (2 mo, 2 yo, 4 yo). We are waiting for the visa.
I am looking for many things concerning our relocation in this city.
We've already traveled to the US but never to this area, so we know quite a bit about American habits. Yet we've never lived there.
- We would like to have advice on where to settle in the city. Here are our ideal and main criteria :
- to rent a house that has a backyard for the kids (we'll think of buying later)
- to be in a neighborhood that does a lot for kids (parks, activities, nannies...)
- to be in a quite quiet area (I am worried about the airport, is it really loud?)
- to be in a safe area
- to depend on a good school
- and if possible, to go to work by bike (his company is on Aeroplaza Drive, near the airport)

I am also seeking advice on child care. At what age can children start school and for how long during the day. What are the solutions for babies and 2 years old children?

We would have to furnish all our house. Could you give me the best places to go for furniture and appliance at a reasonable price.

Does anybody know how rent works? ie do you have to show your last 3 paychecks to prove you're liable? Do you need to pay in advance a certain amount...

My last question for the moment : do you know any organization that could help us think of everything for the relocation, especially as a foreigner?

I would really appreciate any feedback.
Thanks in advance

Colorado Springs Family Reunion Location Questions
Posted: Sun March 26, 2006 05:38 AM UTC
Hi. My large family is going to have a reunion in Colorado Springs next year, late spring or summer. We were looking for suggestions on a location that may be an all-inclusive type place. Something that would include lodging, a meeting place and possibly most meals. Does anyone have any suggestions where this may be?

If not, our second thought was a retreat of somekind that may offer these types of services.

Lastly, we thought about vacation rental homes or renting timeshares of somekind. We did this a few years ago in Branson, MO and it was a huge hit. It was nice to have everyone (over 70 people) all in the same location so we could get together and visit 24x7.

Any suggestions that you have would be great! Even if it's something I haven't mentioned. We may not have thought of everything...

Thanks!!

Colorado Springs Considering relocating to CO
Posted: Sat December 31, 2005 05:08 PM UTC
Hello,
My husband and I are considering relocating to CO. We currently live in BEAUTIFUL San Luis Obispo, CA. We love it here but job growth is scarce. My husband is a sales manager for a car dealership.
The things we like about SLO are:
1. Climate is perfect all year (rarely above 85 degrees in the summer)
2. Clean small-town living (approx. population of 45,000)
3. The air quality is outstanding
4. Very low crime
5. Very little traffic

We don't like:
1. No job growth (very few car dealerships in the area)
2. High cost of living (median home price is about $650K)

We have a 5-year-old so we are looking for a family oriented style of living. We are extremely hesitant to leave the lifestyle we live now, but there is little to no room from job growth for my husband. We would like to live in an area similar to SLO but with more job opportunities, basically larger car dealerships. I am in the mortgage industry, so I'm not too worried about finding work. We can deal with cold winters (my husband grew up in MN) we just don't want to live in an area with high traffic, HOT summers or a long commute! We are not familiar with CO at all, we are planning on visting soon. We would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

Colorado Springs Where to live
Posted: Tue May 31, 2005 11:44 PM UTC
I am a young profesional moving from California to COS and was wondering where the best place to live is? Keep in mind that i am single, active and I like social settings. Big house or big condo it doesnt matter as long as there are things to do and people to do them with. I am not a lone wolf and would like a setting that has energy as well as beauty. And no Denver and Boulder are not options since I will be working in COS. Thank you for your help.
