The closest forum to this site is Oceanside but I really want to know about San Clemente State Beach. There is very little information on the websight and no one answers the phone when I call the office.
I want to camp at this beach for the weekend of June 12th. It's my boyfriends 30th birthday so I want everything to go off without a hitch. The reserveamerica websight says they are fully booked.

I want to know if they have any walk-in camp sights set aside for people who were not able to make reservations and how many.
What are the chances that I can get a tent (NOT RV) campsight if I show up Thursday night without a reservation? What is the cost?
Any other information will help.

Need good phone number for Ruby's on the pier in Oceanside. Number shown in listing on computer (760-433-7829) apparently no good as recording comes on advising not in service. Phone information no help as they show the same number. Anyone have a good working number? Thanks.

I'm planning a trip from Oceanside to Van Nuys in the near future and understand I can do this by rail. Do I use Amtrak or Metrolink - or which is preferable? I'm a senior. EK.

How much are the food prices from the drinks to the appetizers and to the buckets? And I was wondering if you have to pay more to sit in the patio?

Or how about near Leucadia? Was planning on coming for some surf lessons on Beacons Beach(1 week). But I can't find any hostel on the internet near the beach or even in Oceanside. Does anyone know of any?

Please provide public transport directions with your suggestions, if possible. E.g how to get from Beacons to the hostel.

Daily commuting from downtown San Diego would take too long, no?

I'm headed to Oceanside for 5 days in October, flight's booked (thank you airmiles!) but need to find out what the weather is like at that time of year. I'm assuming it's still fairly warm? And if so, approximately how warm? Need to know so that I pack correctly :-)
