Is there a shuttle that can get me to and from Desert Hot Springs into the park to reach trailheads?

I've been reading reviews of this place. Sounds like the somewhat quirky, private places we like to stay but there are reports of "rowdiness." Any one have experience with this Inn? Thanks again, Valerie

Has anyone stayed at Joshua Desert Retreats before? (It is somehwat near 29 Palms I believe). Any other recommendations for great places to stay near the park? We are two adults, a college sophomore, and a ten year old. Thanks for your help!

Are there any fall colors in Joshua Tree National Park? Where? And when, usually?

Has anyone stayed at the Anza Borrego State Park Cabins? Would they do for 2 single adults and 2 teenagers as far as room goes. If anyone could describe them that would be great. Ruth

If you had two days, would you spend both days in Joshua Tree or one in Joshua Tree and then drive to Anza Borrego? I would have to get back to L.A.

Coming from Grand Canyon (from overnight in Williams) to Big Bear Lake and looking for a good stop-off point. Thought Joshua Tree area would be good. Anyone got any particularly good recommendations. Somewhere with a bit of comfort if possible but its just for one night. 4 adults and 3 kids under 11 yrs. thanks for any ideas.

On my way from San Diego to Yuma to meet my new grandson, I plan on driving up to Joshua Tree National Park via the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
I'm really not going to have much time to do any hiking (perhaps some short hikes, hopefully), as my time will be rather limited. Is it best to enter the park from the North and then drive south thru it or should I enter from the south and just head northwest to get a taste of the park?
I've looked at numerous tips this morning about Joshua Tree National Park to get a general overview of the park and it sounds like the west side of the park will be the best area for me to explore in the short time I am there.
Any suggestions of "must see" areas?
Thanks.
