Help! I know nothing of Hollywood-never been..... I am surprising my husband with a crazy birthday. I had a silly movie made about him and we are doing the whole red carpet thing at the house with the neighbors playing the paparazzi. Anyway, another part of the present is we are flying to Hollywood on the 5th of March (the day of the Academy Awards). I have nothing planned except a rental car & hotel. What do we do? Is there an Oscar watch party anywhere? What is fun on a little bit of time? We will be leaving at the crack of dawn on the 6th to come back home. We only have a few hours there and I would love any great ideas!!!! Thanks so much in advance.

Will be in LA with my b/f early Sept for 4 nights. Just wondering some good places to check out at. We are mid 20s and staying in Holiday Inn Hollywood & from what ive heard this isnt the safest area, so I would feel much better having an idea on where im going rather than aimlessly wandering around. We will have a far for 3 nights, so I was thinking perhaps Santa Monica for one night, Hollywood the rest.

Has anyone ever been to the Laugh Factory or the Comedy Store in Hollywood? We are going to be there on a Friday night in June and we are trying to decide which is best. We are staying at the Hyatt on Sunset so I think we are sort of close to both? Also, are there any fun places to eat dinner near there? I know the Chi is in the Hyatt but I was not sure how easy it would be to get in on a Friday night? Thanks!

Please help if u know which area is SAFE enough,no shouting,not much carzy and scare things/people.I am planning to rent a room around Beverly Hill or around Holywood.If u r living there,please help me . How much for one room w /full bath room (toilet and bath) and no share ,just small single aprtment ?? I am going to be staying in Hollywood when i am in LA. I would like to go to santa monica at night. Does anyone know how much it cost to catch a taxi from santa moica back to hollywood??

If visiting on a Thursday (1st April), is a "front of queue" more expensive pass necessary? Don't mind paying the extra but only if it will be busy.
