hi there,
me and 3 friends are going on holiday to las vegas next week and am thinking of renting a car and driving to hollywood for a day or two. any suggestions for cheapish, well located hotels or bed and breakfasts will be great!! we will have the rental car, but dont want to spend a fortune on parking, if we can walk or use public transport to the major sites.

I have a 6 hour layover in L.A. and would like to visit Hollywood while I'm waiting for my next flight. Can I take the metro from LAX to Hollywood & Vine? Is that the best stop to see the most tourist attractions in a short amount of time?

I will be staying in West Hollywood for about a week in the middle of August. I've heard that it is difficult to go around in LA without a car.Still I would really like to visit some of the beaches. Is there a way to go from West Hollywood to Malibu beach without a car?

Does anyone happen to know the distance or approximate cab fare from hollywood to didneyland?

My girlfriend and I have been talking baout planning a trip out west. She has always wanted to go to Hollywood and do all the touristy things. How much would you say would be an adequate amount of money to take to spend in California. Keep in mind we want to eat out in resturaunts, stay in a nice hotel (not to ritzy tho), take tours, go shopping, etc. Thanks!

I am planning a trip to California in October, and my initial plan was to just visit Disneyland, but now it has changed and includes Universal studios and Hollywood as well.
2 Days Disneyland + 1 Day Universal + 1 Day Hollywood
I am going for 4 full days (5 nights).

Now I need some pointers on what would be the best thing to do.
Where to stay? Original plan is to stay in Disneyland for 4 days, and on last 2 days take bus to Universal, and one day to Hollywood, but maybe it would be best and cheaper to stay in LA and travel both days to Disneyland and…

Any suggestions?

I WILL BE SPENDING ONE NIGHT IN LA ON MY WAY TO PALM SPRINGS. I HAVE TWO TEENAGE DAUGHTERS AND WOULD LIKE TO STAY AT A HOTEL WHERE THEY CAN SEE THE MOST THAT THEY CAN IN ONE DAY. DO YOU HAVE A SUGGESTION OF A HOTEL LOCATION THAT EITHER HAS A COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE TO SOME OF THE ATTRACTIONS OR IS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE HALL OF FAME. I AM SO WORRIED THAT THEY WONT WANT TO LEAVE HOLLYWOOD WITHOUT DOING SOME FUN STUFF BUT WE HAVE UNCANCELABLE RESERVATIONS IN PALM SPRINGS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

Do you actually get to exit the bus and take a picture of the stars house or famous location or do you have to just observe from your tour bus/shuttle?
Are there any tours that are better than others as far as getting to see more?

I will be staying near the Henry Fonda Theatre and leaving out of Burbank Airport. What is the best/cheap way to get there. About how much would a taxi cost? Or is there any transit that takes you to teh airport that doesn't take an hour? I will be leaving wuite early in the morning...

We're planning on touring the walk of fame and more on a weekday morning. In a book, it was suggested to start at Gower Street. Is this a good starting point? And where and what should we look for in the way of parking if we plan to spend many hours sightseeing, lunch, etc.? Any suggestions for a not too expensive, not too cheap lunch spot in Hollywood? What sights should we not miss?

Help! I know nothing of Hollywood-never been..... I am surprising my husband with a crazy birthday. I had a silly movie made about him and we are doing the whole red carpet thing at the house with the neighbors playing the paparazzi. Anyway, another part of the present is we are flying to Hollywood on the 5th of March (the day of the Academy Awards). I have nothing planned except a rental car & hotel. What do we do? Is there an Oscar watch party anywhere? What is fun on a little bit of time? We will be leaving at the crack of dawn on the 6th to come back home. Will be in LA with my b/f early Sept for 4 nights. Just wondering some good places to check out at. We are mid 20s and staying in Holiday Inn Hollywood & from what ive heard this isnt the safest area, so I would feel much better having an idea on where im going rather than aimlessly wandering around. We will have a far for 3 nights, so I was thinking perhaps Santa Monica for one night, Hollywood the rest.

Has anyone ever been to the Laugh Factory or the Comedy Store in Hollywood? We are going to be there on a Friday night in June and we are trying to decide which is best. We are staying at the Hyatt on Sunset so I think we are sort of close to both? Also, are there any fun places to eat dinner near there? I know the Chi is in the Hyatt but I was not sure how easy it would be to get in on a Friday night? Thanks!

I'm going to be in Hollywood (sunset blvd) for the week from the middle of October 04 and would like to know what hotels are a good deal. I don't have bucket size pockets but I do want a safe area. Is it true around La Brea Ave and west of that are a bit dodgy?
After that I want to stay down by the beach (Santa Monica/ Venice) and the same questions go again.
