Events/festivals in weekend 21-24 August Posted: Tue August 18, 2009 02:13 PM UTC
I had a real good time during the Kulturfest in Berlin last summer and have been looking for an overview of events/festivals/other fun stuff this weekend - Any tips?
I'd also like some tips of things to do that don't include the typical sightseeing as I've done that already. Thinking of renting a bicycle but where should we go? Some green areas, villages etc in the outskirts would be nice.
Thanks!

Spring in Berlin Posted: Fri August 7, 2009 06:02 PM UTC
Hello,
I plan a trip to Berlin to study the culture and history by my own.
What is the best time to visit?
Coming from Finland, I doubt that the winter in Berlin will be too cold.
Is there snow in January?
Does anybody know.

German Elite League hockey games Posted: Sun July 19, 2009 05:41 PM UTC
I will be in Berlin from Aug. 27 to Sept. 2 (and Frankfurt on Aug. 23) and I was hoping to catch some German Elite League hockey action. I think it may be too early for the season, but I thought there may be some pre-season games or a pre-season tournament. Can anyone tell me if there is anything like that going on during those dates? The league's website is hard to navigate in English and I'm not sure if they would post the pre-season dates anyway.
Thanks!

Travelers cheques Posted: Mon July 13, 2009 12:25 PM UTC
Hi everyone,
It is my second visit in the wonderful city of Berlin.
Last time I have been here (three years ago) there was this foreign exchange post
That accepted American Express Travelers cheques with no commission.
I was surprised to find out that now they charge 2.50 euro per cheque (I have 54 cheques!!!).
Obviously I didn't accept their kind offer.
Does anyone know a place that charges no, or minimum commission for American express Travelers cheques?
Many thanks,
Ron

Boat trip from Potsdam to Berlin? Posted: Tue June 23, 2009 09:11 PM UTC
We are leaving for Berlin next week and we have started to discuss what to do. One of the ideas is a daytrip to Potsdam and a boat trip back to Berlin in the evening, but I have not found any boats from Potsdam to Berlin. Does anyone know if there are such boats? I have been looking around and found one boat from Wannsee to Berlin. Does anyone know if the boat is within walking distance from the S-Bahnhof in Wannsee? I would be happy for all tips!

Football in Berlin Posted: Thu June 18, 2009 04:12 PM UTC
Hi where in Berlin the weekend of the 28th of August.
Was wondering when the fixtures are announced for the bundesliga?
Would like to go and watch Herta at the olympiastadion if possible.
If Herta are away, whats the deal with the other local teams? I support a third division team in England so it dosent have to be the glamour of the top league.
Ive googled Union Berlin would you say there the next best??

Hi!
We are going to Berlin on Tuesday and will stay there untill Saturday. My husband has heard (I´m not sure from whom) that there is a restaurant in Berlin where you pay for the food as much as you think it worth. Have anyone heard about such place? Does it really exist? And in this case, where is it located?

Oberbaumbrücke - how far is the walk there? Posted: Fri May 29, 2009 09:18 AM UTC
I just read a very interesting tip by Sissi (Kakapo2) about the Oberbaumbrücke in Berlin. The closest S-Bahn stop is Schlesisches Tor. How far is it to walk from there?
I should have read her page earlier, as I'm leaving tonight, but maybe I'm lucky and someone from Berlin can answer my question. I'm going with my mother and she has problems walking.
Thanks in advance.
