I'm going to Canyon de Chelly in April - thought I'd stick around for a day. Any good hikes? Restaurants? Motels? Other tips?

Which is the best mode of transportation from Chinle to Grand Canyon?
Is it advisable to rent a car from Chinle? We would like to visit the Grand Canyon and ending at Las Vegas? Appreciate any suggestions. |

| Canyon de Chelly National Monument | Rim overlook drives Posted: Sat January 6, 2007 07:57 PM UTC
I'll be visiting the park this upcoming March and I want to do both the north and south rim drives. On my map of Arizona it looks like highway 7 runs along the south rim to Chinle and then highway 64 runs along the north rim from Chinle to Tsaile. Are these the rim overlook drives or do you first have to enter the park at chinle to to access the drives?

I would like to go to the beautiful Canyon de Chelly again. This time I would like to ride into it on a horse. Has anyone done that before? Does anyone know web sites with infos about 'Horseback Riding in the Canyon de Chelly'?
