Bonn Clubs in Bonn or Koeln?
Posted: Mon November 2, 2009 01:12 PM UTC
Hello,
Are there any clubs in Bonn or Koeln where you can really dance. Where it's not like a pub, but with a dance floor and really good club music. (not just techno and house but good dancing music???)

From April 23rd through April 29th, I will be staying in Bonn for a seminar. I need very cheap single room to stay such as rooms owned by private. Maximum price I can afford is $25/night.
Public bus for long distance is an option.

Bonn Accommodation in Bonn
Posted: Sat March 7, 2009 06:54 PM UTC
Hello, VTers :-)

I will be attending a 3-day conference at the World Conference Centre Bonn (WCCB) on the 31st March and would like to know of any hotels nearby. Anything ranging below 100 Euros a night would be wonderful.

It would be great if the location is nearby the WCCB so that I would be able to walk there as I do not want to waste time waiting for the public transport.

I've checked out a few hotels on the net and found several such as Zur Post Hotel, Europa Hotel & Consul Hotel but I do not know if they are near the WCCB.

I hope someone could help me soon as the conference is just in 3 weeks time :-O!

Thank you.

Bonn Nena concert in Bonn
Posted: Thu July 3, 2008 12:25 PM UTC
We are travelling to Germany from Australia in August and have booked tickets for Nena in concert in Bonn on 31st August. Is anyone else going to this concert or been to one before? My partner is a huge fan (she can speak German but I can't) Any idea where the venue will be in Bonn?...our tickets are still in the mail.

Bonn Soviet Bar
Posted: Sun June 15, 2008 06:35 AM UTC
I lived in Bonn a couple of years ago, and my friends and I used to visit a bar that was across the street from the Bonnsch that was called something like the Soviet, or something like that. It was a great bar, and they had a beer that came in a white can that we refered to as a "Weisse Bar" that I haven't been able to find anywhere else. Has anyone been there? Does anyone know what it that beer is called? Thanks.

Bonn Königswinter/ Stieldorf
Posted: Mon November 5, 2007 04:08 AM UTC
Can someone here enlighten me about 'Königswinter/ Stieldorf' area in Rhein side of Bonn?

Is it a preferable area to live? What I mean: does the area provide a convenient facility for grocery shopping, safety wise, and convenient to move around the Bonn?

From my knowledge so far, they have bus Line. 537 that goes all the way from Stieldorf to Bonn Hauptbahnhof.

Any insights or comments are welcomed.

Thanks.

Bonn Monthly pass?
Posted: Thu November 1, 2007 09:34 AM UTC
Can anyone down here help me?

I would like to purchase 1 month ticket during my stay in Bonn and I came across this website:

http://www.stadtwerke-bonn.de/Tickets_Tarife_2007.762.0.html

I would like to have a pass that I can use to commute within Bonn area, either by streetcar, bus or underground.
In that case, what kind of pass should I purchase?
Is CityTicket 1b a good choice?
What is the difference between CityTicket and CityPlusTicket? and between 1a and 1b category?

Thanks!

Bonn 1985 museum exhibit
Posted: Fri July 27, 2007 10:08 AM UTC
I visited a mueseum in Bonn ( I believe) in 1985. I remember a King Tut exhibit as well as a snake exhibit. The snake was in a long glass case. It had apparently died while consuming a large wild boar.

My question is- do I have the correct museum, or is it a different one. I was only 12 years old at the time, so it is difficult to remember.

Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,

Michelle

Bonn VT Meeting 27-29 Discussion Thread
Posted: Mon July 31, 2006 10:16 PM UTC
Hello all To-Be Participants and everybody else who's interested in coming!
This is a thread to discuss issues of the meeting.

I thought for all those early birds, I might already post some hotel recommendations:

Youth Hostel Bonn (elevated standard, also family and single rooms)
http://www.djh-rheinland.org/jh/bonn/eng/index.htm
-- inexpensive, excellent value for money, on a hill about 3 km from the city centre (bus connection, taxi to/from city centre will be about 15 EUR)

Hotel Burg Dottendorf
http://www.burgdottendorf.de/indexeg.html
-- small and very neat, prices about average

Hotel Garni Jacobs
-- inexpensive, compareable to a British guesthouse
http://www.hotel-jacobs-garni.de/
also appartments available

Is it easy for me to travel to Jena by ICE?
Any precautions?

Bonn Where in Bonn?
Posted: Sun October 31, 2004 10:19 AM UTC
Hiya everyone!

Next weekend we will be visiting Germany for the first time! So excited!!

We will be staying in Cologne, but will be taking the train to Bonn for the day.

When we are there we would like to find a pub that my husband did some work in some years ago! Its called Fiddlers and its an Irish bar.

Any ideas on opening hours, directions from the train station? What is the general atmosphere in there?

Many Thanks in advance!
