Belgrade Continental Belgrade Hotel
Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 03:36 AM UTC
HI,

I will be staying in Continental Belgrade Hotel next week for an exhibition plus an extra weekend for sightseeing. I have a few questions:

1)What is there to do in Belgrade on a weekend?

2)The area surrounding Continental Hotel-are there any places to go by walking?

3)What is there to do at the nearby Sava Centre? Is it a shopping mall??

4)How far is Continental from Belgrade Fair Grounds? What is the best way to get there? By taxi? If so how much to pay??

Thanks.

Belgrade Playing soccer in Beograd
Posted: Mon August 24, 2009 08:48 PM UTC
Zdravo,
I've been in Belgrade for nearly a month now and I will be staying for another two weeks at least. So, I am looking for a soccer team to train with for the next few weeks until I return home. I would appreciate it if anyone who had any information about this or plays for a team who would be willing to allow me to train/play with them for a while could contact me by posting here. I play football at home and I need to train with a team while I am here.
I have a Serbian mobile number through which I can be contacted further.
Thanks,
Luke

Belgrade Flights from England to Belgrade
Posted: Tue July 14, 2009 08:42 PM UTC
Hi Folks;
We live in Northern England. It's easy to fly to Schipol, for example, and other European hub airports. Has anyone any suggestions for routes from Europe to Belgrade, rather than flying from Heathrow?
Cheers,

Belgrade Budapest-Belgrade/Novi Sad. Train or bus?
Posted: Wed June 3, 2009 12:19 PM UTC
So I am going to Serbia again in August and I figured its cheapest to fly to Budapest and take a train or bus to Novi Sad or Belgrad. I cant decide whether to take the train or the Gea Tours minibus.
Im currently leaning towords the bus, because they would pick me up at the Budapest airport and I've heard it only takes 4 hours to get to Novi Sad (where I would meet up with my Serbian friends and continue the journey to other parts of Serbia with them).
Is there a reason why the train would be better, apart from the price? I have never taken a train trip thats longer than 2 hours.

Belgrade Travelling night train from Skopje - Belgrade later train Belgrade - Timisoara
Posted: Wed May 6, 2009 02:24 PM UTC
Hi guys,

I'm Asian (young) woman travelling alone, so I have few questions :

1> Is night train passing into Serbia stops a lot? Is it safe enough? I'd like to know if I have any chance to sleep.

2> Anyone know the updated time schedule for this train? I saw two but they aren't the same.

3> I'll stay in Belgrade for couple of days. Is it gonna be too long? Or I should spend more time in Timisoara, Romania?

4> I found only one train around 4pm from Belgrade to Timisoara, is that my only chance? Is there also buses?

Thank you very much fellow travellers for your time to reply

H! I'm planning to be in Serbia in late June '09. I was told that in Bosnia, to spend 3 days in Sarajevo, one of which should be a all-day trip to Mostar.
What advice do you offer in regards to a visit to Belgrade?

THANK YOU!

Belgrade Looking for Belgrade to Sarajevo itinerary ideas!
Posted: Mon February 9, 2009 06:25 AM UTC
Hi, a friend and I (two over-40 females) plan to rent a car in Belgrade, see as many interesting things as possible, and return the car 10 days later in Sarajevo. We don't care at all about partying or night life. We're interested in history and meeting & talking to people. Let me hear your itinerary ideas (where, how many days, how many hours driving, etc)! Much thanks, Jan

I am planning to go from Skopje and Pristina to Belgrade. Is this possible
and safe by bus nowadays? Are there still any official border crossings between Kosovo and Serbia and. If not Pristina, how about Kosovska mitrovica Belgrade connection? The plan would be to go in July. Thank you for advice. I am also waiting to have new edition of the LP Balkan in May on hand..

Belgrade just some questions
Posted: Fri November 28, 2008 10:44 AM UTC
I'm finally going back to Belgrade. Can't wait:-)
I just have some questions regarding money. In the past Ive brought euros and changed them there, but I dont like bringing that much money on me, so I was thinking just to bring my visacard and take money out of the bank there. Anybody know what's the biggest amount of dinars I can take out from an ATM?
Last time i was there( must admit 3 years ago) it was hard paying with Visacard in shops. Have things changed much now that its an option?

Belgrade Advice please
Posted: Fri September 12, 2008 09:02 AM UTC
I have a quick question:

I have tried to book a couple of apartments for a week over New Year. Each time i send a booking request i get a reply form the agencies claiming it is to early to take reservations, and to contact them again 10-20 days before arrival date.

Is this normal? Or have i been unlucky with the agencies I've found?

For peace of mind, I would much rather have somewhere booked at least 2 months in advance.

Any advice much appreciated!

Thanks,

Jim

Has anyone done this trip? I read on a blog from 2004 that it takes over 5 hours to go 175km. Is this still true? Any tips will be gratefully received.

Belgrade Getting from Belgrade to Sarajevo
Posted: Fri August 29, 2008 07:59 PM UTC
Hi,

I plan on spending several days in Belgrade and then heading to the Croatian coast. In between, I'd like to stop and see Sarajevo. I can't seem to find bus or train service that runs there. Does anyone know the best way to get there from Belgrade? If by road/rail, approximately how long does it take?

Belgrade Taking the bus from Belgrade airport to Belgrade center
Posted: Fri August 15, 2008 11:01 PM UTC
I have read that a bus will go from Belgrade airport to Belgrade. It goes to both "Slavija Square" and "Central Station". When I arrive next month I wish to take a bus that will get close to the center as my hotel (Hotel Splendid) is about 5-10 walking distance from the center of Belgrade (where the horse is). Will the bus take me to the center? Is Slavija Square near the center?. And is the "Central Station" the big major bus station in Belgrade? If it only goes to that major bus station then I still have to take a cab to my hotel. Every time in the past I have taken a taxi from the airport to my hotel in Belgrade and that cost 20-25 euros!

Belgrade Things to do in few hours, acomodation near highway
Posted: Sun August 3, 2008 08:55 AM UTC
Hello, we will pass Belgrade and stay there for one afternoon and night, in our way to Greece. We found a very cheap motel, named Konak Vukasinovic, which seems to be the best for us, being close to the highway. Does anybody knows it? Is it OK staying there with one little child for a night? What can we see in few hours in Belgrade? Thank you in advance.

Belgrade Have you backpacked in Serbia without registering with police?
Posted: Tue July 22, 2008 02:24 PM UTC
Have you backpacked in Serbia without registering with police?

How necessary it is to report to the police station to register as a foreigner if planning to stay in private accommodation (with friends) for a period of up to 3-4 weeks in Serbia?

Apparently all foreigners need to register but usually hotels take care of it. Since I am not planning to stay in hotels during my stay in Serbia, I'm wondering how many travelers have managed to cross the border with Montenegro without any hassle.

The rule is all foreigners staying in private dwellings must register with police within 24 hours of arrival in Serbia. Failure to do so may result in fines (or bribes) at the exiting borderpoint.
