| Pristina | I need an expert's help Posted: Mon June 2, 2008 12:30 AM UTC
Our son is going to be in Pristina all summer. We would like to plan to visit him halfway through. I'm having a hard time figuring out where would be the easiest place to meet him. That meaning, where is it easiest for him to get to.
Can he easily get to Dubrovnik and how long would it take him? Would Venice be better? Is there something faster for him? I would appreciate your suggestions. |

| Pristina | Travelling to Kosovo this summer - tips? Posted: Mon May 19, 2008 05:58 PM UTC
I'm planning a trip to Albania and Kosovo in August, hopefully lasting about ten days. I'm flying from London to Tirana, then flying back to London from Pristina (bizarrely, this comes to £600 less than doing it the other way round).
I don't really know where to start with questions about Kosovo! Any advice at all, or any links pointing to advice, is really, really welcome. Thanks |

| Pristina | Shuttle Belgrade Prishtina Posted: Mon May 5, 2008 12:28 PM UTC
Hi,
I once travelled with a shuttlebus (minivan) from Belgrade to Prishtina. The bus went regularly from Novi Sad to Belgrade and entered Kosovo at Podujevo. The final destination was Gracanica. Somehow I remember the name "Beni" connected to that shuttle, but I could be wrong. Does anyone know that shuttle, have the contact details, happen to know, if it is still operating? Thank you Eggert |

| Pristina | Car insurance scam in Kosovo: is it true? Posted: Sun March 30, 2008 08:33 PM UTC
I want to 'risk' to see few places (Pec', Visoke Decani, Gracanica, Prizren) late this Summer/Fall. Entering will be on U.S. passport (hihihi), with a car licensed in California (hope, can re-register my cars in Oregon before we leave). The car will have, however, European insurance with proper "green card" valid in AL, SRB, MK, CG (to name few places).
However, it seems, there is an insurance scam going on in Kosovo. See this: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/c3e9c/afdf9/9/ How to deal with that properly? Do not want to go into political debates - everyone knows my stance. This is just a practical question. |

| Pristina | Montenegro - Pristina Posted: Tue February 26, 2008 07:34 PM UTC
I'm looking to catch a bus from Montenegro to Pristina and I was wondering what connections there were. I have heard there might be a bus from Ulcinj and if so, does anybody know the times of departure/arrival? Also it would be great to know if there if there's a chance to catch a bus from anywhere else in Montenegro to the Kosovan capital. Many thanks!

| Pristina | Pristina to Istanbul Posted: Fri February 1, 2008 09:45 PM UTC
Hi, I have a question. I live in Turkey but have been traveling through the Balkans for 5 weeks and I'm looking for the easiest way to get from Pristina to Istanbul. I'm probably entering Pristina from Belgrade, should I (or can I) head back up to Belgrade and take the train back to Turkey from there or is there an easier way?
Also, I'm an American girl traveling alone so is that a consideration I should take into account in deciding on a route back? |

| Pristina | requirements to enter to Kosovo for EU passports? Posted: Sat January 12, 2008 04:04 PM UTC
Hi, I've been reading in some places that you don't need visa but you need a kind of paper saying the reason of your trip to Kosovo. In the article of the administration of KOSOVO it says you must show documents in case you travel for studies, bussiness or relatives in Kosovo, but it says nothing about tourism....
What do I need then for going as tourist? thanks |

| Pristina | housing/room share Posted: Mon October 8, 2007 09:44 AM UTC
Hi everybody!
I have a question to you all about housing in Pristina. I have just been accepted for an internship in Pristina and will arrive there in about one week and stay untill the end of the year. But so far I have had no success in finding a place to stay. My problem is that as an intern my budget is quite limited and thus cannot afford the 500 eur offers that I have had so far. I guess there must be a lot of interns in Pristina facing the same problem as I? How do you get around? Aren't there any roomshare arrangements? Or maybe ther are local families who offer rooms for rent? Best, Anna Karin |

Any ideas of the best way to travel from Thessaloniki to Pristina? Would it b safe to come with a car? These are the main things I wanna have an answer to for the moment. Please help me quickly, I have to give an answer for the job before the 11th of May! Thanks, emilie |

| Pristina | Building an informational portal for Pristina Posted: Sat December 2, 2006 06:47 AM UTC
Well hello all Pristina VT members, we finally arrived here in chilly Pristina and finding my way around the place. I still have not found a map yet and have decided to try and build a bit more up to date information database as it is constantly changing and very little information is available (at least in English that I can find!). Please point me in the right direction if you know where I can buy one.
If you would like to meet up for a coffee and a yarn drop me a line and who knows maybe we can line up a pre Christmas VT meeting - a first for Pristina I believe! Cheers, Astrawan |

| Pristina | Pristina Apartment Accommodation Posted: Tue November 7, 2006 04:24 AM UTC
My husband and I are coming to Pristina for four weeks from the 26th of November so I am on the net looking for somewhere to stay.
My preference is to find a fully furnished apartment that has a kitchen so I can cook. However, our budget does not stretch to the ones offered by the either the Prishtina, the Royal or the Grand, so would prefer a one off monthly rate. Would also appreciate any advice on how the Internet works - we both have laptops and I do a lot of work from home. Many thanks for any advice |

| Pristina | Pristina-Sarajevo/Skopje hostels Posted: Mon October 9, 2006 01:39 PM UTC
Hi,
I'm planning to visit Sarajevo, but I'm getting quite confused about how to get there. I've read previous posts and also I've asked at the Pristina bus station, and what I've found out is that there is a bus that leaves at 6 and goes to Sarajevo via Montenegro. I was wondering does anybody have a clue about the time table of buses FROM Sarajevo to Pristina? I want to leave Pri. on Friday October 20, and be back on Tuesday morning the lastest, so I guess I'd have to leave Sarajevo either on Sunday or Monday. I was also wondering if anybody knows a cheap hotel or hostel in Skopje. I will be spending one or two nights there in November. I haven't managed to find any hostels on the internet. Thanks in advance! |
