Hi everyone!
I'm planning a trip for next week and I'm going from L'viv to Krakow, I've been looking for information and I've seen that there's a night train just working on par days, I will be there on 17 so I think I won't be able to get that train. I've also seen that there's a bus working daily at 22:00 from Lviv to Krakow arriving around 6am but i don't know if it is working now because that information was old. Anybody can tell me something about it? I would like to go to Krakow by night so I can stay there for the day. Also, I've seen that Bus Main Station is far from the Lviv center, anybody knows how to get there?
Thank you!!

Hello former vivitors and locals! :)
Firstly I would like to ask what places are worth to make daytrip around Lvov? Let say, if it is possible to gather 3 - 4 of them?
Is it worth to visit Lutsk as a daytrip? How to travel there (bus, train)? Could you please give me any usable link of transportation ? ;)
Thank you so much!
Raimundas

Hello, reading various forums I believe I have a couple of options when travelling to the Ukraine from Krakow (train or night bus). Once in Lviv, would someone be able to tell me if there is a train to Stryj...how long it takes, costs etc?
Many thanks

I want to find an monthly rent apartment with a little garden, either in street level or in R/F, apartment and garden need to be connected.
Is it easy to find near city center?
If not, 5-10km from city center is OK.
Anybody knows?
Thanks a lot

I want to withdraw money from ATM from my saving account oversea through ATM plus service because this service is cheaper than credit card withdrawal.
I found the following problems
1. ATM plus service is not common in most machines.
2. Withdrawal limit is low and cause higher administration and commission charge.
3. ATM machine may take your card without reason and need hours to take it back.
Anyone can tell which ATM is good?
Thanks

Some general questions on Lviv:
- is there much building/renovation going on in the Oldtown right now (due to preparation for the EURO soccer event 2012?). Just want to ask because I hate it when I want to take photos and everything is obscured by scaffolding (:-)
- I remember reading about some old derelict palaces from the Habsburg period in or near Lviv - can anyone give me a sum-up where they are, if they are open to the public etc. ?

I'm looking for a guide/translator to help me in September. I'm not looking for the typical high priced English speaking guide to take me around town and show me mounuments/castles/etc. I'm looking for someone to help with a photography project - an outgoing person that understands enough English to communicate with me, knows their way around the countryside/small villages up to 100km out of town, able to strike up conversations with locals, knows their way around Soviet housing complexes, has street smarts. This might be fun for a student studying English or photojournalism or a recent grad.
Any leads appreciated!
Thanks.

Hi, I am in Lviv as we speak on a short holiday. What a beautiful city it is. However all the eating and cafe culture has made me want/need to play some tennis! Does anybody know where I could hire a court and the number to call to do so?

Time to prepare my shopping list for Lviv!
I have adopted the habit to bring some music CDs from my travels - some folk music but mainly contemporary rock/pop/jazz music sung in the local language. However, shopping for music means you have to know which names of bands and singers to look for. I usually prepare with the help of Youtube and make a list of those whose music I like, but that also requires knowing some names to start with.
So - I hope for some recommendations of good bands and singers from Ukraine. Please let me know your favourites.
My musical taste: rock ballads, 'soft' jazz, melodic pop. No techno, no hip-hop, no heavy metal. I prefer singers, no matter if male or female, who have strong voices and a good singing technique - I dislike girly whispers and half-spoken 'singing'.
Question 2: Where can I find a well-assorted CD shop in Lviv?

Hello, I am moving to England in a few month for a year or two and during my free time I am trying to trace back my grandfather’s family. He came over to America during WW2 after his parents were killed. His family had land in Dowholuka is that far from Lviv it looks like it’s only about an hour’s drive away. Also is it really hard to find someone who speaks English in these areas? Also is there an airport in Lviv? Or where is the closest airport? Thanks for your help I am sure I will have more questions in the future.

What is the easiest way to get from Rzeszow to Lviv - taking a bus to Przemysl and then crossing the border on foot and taking a marshrutka?
What about the inward journey - is there a night train from Lviv to Warszawa?
I will be travelling to Lviv on 16th April and returning to Poland on 18th in the evening.

If you go through any part of Russia the enclave of Kaliningrad . You need a visa which can be very laborious to get .
I am not sure of my directions but If this is needed make sure that you get it before you go as there sre three pages of forms to fill in in triplicate.

1. Please share your information on VT-meet posted by me on 1-2 June 2010 - just after Euromeet in Krakow (transportation, accommodations):
http://meetings.virtualtourist.com/meeting-5082-1-0-706846-Lviv---meeting.html
2. What would you like to see/do in Lviv?
My suggestion is a walk (1 day) around the Old Town with a lunch somewhere there on the way and on the second day depends on weather (hopefully sunny) a trip (by taxis?) to Lviv High Castle, Schevchenko Forest (wooden, old cottages) and Lychakiv Cemetery.
Please, download Lviv in your Pocket, to get to know more, from here:
http://www.inyourpocket.com/static/downloads.html
Hugs,
Matt.
