ls it possible to travel from 0dessa by bus or train, to Nis (in Serbia) - any suggestions?

I need to catch a train from Berlin to Odessa on July 9th. Does anyone know its schedule, prices and how to buy tickets online? Thank you in advance for your help.

Who has been to Odessa? What can you tell about this city?

I have been to the Ukraine a few times and want to spend the month of June in Odessa. I have been to Odessa three times but have not found a reasonable place to stay. I would like a home stay or a single room apartment near downtown or the beaches. I am looking for reasonably priced accomodations. I am a single male agaed 58 and easy going and need just the basic creature comforts liek a bed, cable TV, and internet hook up. I would share accomodations with the right person.

l'd like to know if the carnival of body art is being held in 0dessa this year & if so, what date(s)?
...& as l'm an artist myself, is it possible for me to enter the carnival & if so, who do l apply to?

Hello I am interested in visiting Ukraine (Odessa). I plan to travel alone but have seen reports of violent crimes against foreigners, especially Africans and Asians. I am supposed to meet several people I met online but for saftely reasons I would like to visit with someone who is familiar with the area and people. Please reply or send me an email. We are taking a Viking small ship cruise next Sep starting in Odesa, Ukraine. We plan on arriving a few days early and are looking for a good hotel that is within 1-2 miles of the sea cruise terminal. Any suggestions? How about the Londonskaya Hotel? Thanks.

How often do trains (or buses) run to and from Nikolayev during the summer? Does anyone have an approximate timetable?
Also, does anyone know what the best hotels are in Nikolayev and whether it would be necessary to have reservations?

What is the opinion of the people on this forum with regard to the best month to visit Odessa between May and August?

I will not be traveling with anyone and do not know anyone there, so I would want to meet girls in my spare time. Based on my current knowledge (and observations of St. Petersburg), a large percentage of girls leave Ukraine/Russia in the summer to work in the West. This would lead one to the conclusion that May should be the best month to visit. Is this correct?
On the other hand, the warmth of the summer is more pleasant, more people are outside, and it is possible to go to the beach. Are these advantages sufficient to counter the alleged decrease in people?

I have been to Kiev and a short trip to Odessa. Wanting to travel to other parts of Ukraine. but I have 2 friends who insist on Odessa for a couple of weeks. We like outdoors, walking, good food. not heavy into late night life. Would like to rent small apart. with Kit. for maybe 16-20 days. any suggetion. also is it possible to travel from Atlanta ga with out going through NY (JFK)?

which are the best hotels on a trendy beach in odessa?

I was in Odessa in April and had with me about 5 addresses of youth hostels that should be there. When i arrived, ALL of them was or closed or simply disappeared, or eventually turned into a hotel for 50 euros per night. Can someone please tell me where in Odessa i can find a cheap place to spend few nights (because i am searching a flat in the meantime). Thanks a lot for any answers (addresses).

I will be travelling to Odessa soon to meet a young lady I have been corresponding with for quite a long time. I have bought some jewellery for her as a gift, but one website I have seen states that I must declare the jewellery at customs at the airport and that if I do I am likely to be charged 100% import duty on it even though it is a gift.

Can anybody tell me if this is true or give me some advice from previous experience. I’d really appreciate it.

any of you know how to find, russian language courses or language exchange partners (students) in Odessa? i'm planning to stay there for 4-8 weeks, starting from march.
I can read cyrillic and speak a little. And would like to improve it while my staying there.

Does anyone know what the options for buses to Moldova, Chisianu are from Odessa. What company operates the srvice and i need a route that avoids Tiraspol. Many thanks
