It's just my first time going to Basel. Please help me how I can get to Alexander Hotel from Basel Airport. I would appreciate if you can give me instructions on how to get there by bus. How much would I pay if I take the bus and please give me an idea how much would it cost me if I take a cab.

We are from Malaysia - will be driving (van-6 adults, 1 kid) from AMS to Basel via Koln (German) and will be spending time in Basel for 1 or 2 nights, before heading to Paris the day after. We are is a tight budget, so we choose to drive as it would be much cheaper for the seven of us.

I hope that everything would be fine. How's the road from Cologne-Basel-Paris look like? As we come from the left-side driving country...I hope there won't be much hassle for us. Anybody want to share the experiences of driving from Germany-Basel-Paris?

We'll be travelling through Basel in the summer en route to Italy. We need a hotel with rooms that can accommodate 2 adults and 3 children, but most websites only seem to allow you to book up to 2 children. Does anyone have any suggestions, please? Many thanks.

I'll be on a Grand Circle Travel river cruise starting in Basel and want to know where the river cruise boats usually dock. I'm trying to figure out where to stay in Basel the day before. I can't seem to find the exact area on a map.

Also, do you think doing a river cruise (Basel to Antwerp) in late November a bad idea? Is it too cold to enjoy Basel this time of the year?

Also, will the city be decorated in Christmas lights at this time?

We are staying in Basel for four days, we are looking to stay in the area known as the old city.
We would like a list of some good, medium priced hotels, close to transport and walking distance to the highlights of the city.
Also any advise for sight seeing during our stay would be appreciated.

I will be landing in euroairport on 28 December at 14:10 and I need to go to Paris. However I am a bit confused about the railstations in basel. To which railstation should I go from the airport in order to catch a train to Paris at the same day? how should I go to that trainstation and How long will it take me to get there? thanks in advance:)

I am travelling to Basel next month with a camper car whoch is 3 meters high and cannot fit in any of underground parkings that are listed all over the Internet. However, I couldn't find any parking places that are above the ground so that the height of my car wouldn't be an issue.

Parking outside the city of outside the center of the city is not an option due to lack of time planned for this city.
Maybe someone could list me a few parking places that could fit me?

What about parking on the strets, not in the parking places?

An assistant made my airline reservations for me. Once I received my itinerary, I saw that the flight she had purchased landed me in Basel airport at 10:35 p.m. with a layover until the following morning at 6:30 a.m. flight to Zurich.

Has anyone ever slept overnight at the Basel airport (I would be in the Swiss terminal rather than France Terminal). Are there enough others squatting there to make me feel safe? Well lit? Will security permit it? Is there security available?

Don't know if it's worth the hassel and expense of finding transportation to a hotel only to be back at the airport at 5:00 a.m.

Anyone have any tips or advice?

Just joined VT & wasted no time in asking first question.
In april 2008 I will be travelling from Amsterdam to Bern by rail, changing trains in Basel and taking the opertunity for a couple of hours sightseeing whilst there.
My query is does the station have facilities to store luggage for approx 4 hours between trains?, and any suggestions on what to do in those 4 hours from Basel natives would be greatly appreciated.

This coming July I will be arriving in Basel, from Paris, to take another train to Biel. How should I proceed? Is it easy to go from he French side of the station to the Swiss side? Can I easily buy my Basel/Biel ticket? Thank you for the information.

I was looking for inexpensive hotels in the area (~100CHF), but it seems like all are completely booked due to the Baselworld jewelry fair.

I arrive at Basel-Mulhouse in the 'Swiss sector'. How easy is it to find my way to the bus stop for the Freiburg bus which goes from a different sector - French/German?
I assume it is possible to navigate from one sector to another within the airport?

I am arriving at Basel airport at 11:30 in the night on thursday 8th March 2007.

I wish to know if we have any budget family hotel near Basel airport(but in SWITZERLAND Territory) which I can go to in the night. Since I am arriving very late, I am abit worried about where to stay since I only have valid documenst to travel to Swiss land and not France.

Kindly advise any hotel and best means of travel at my arrival time from Basel airport to Basel city or a neqarby Swiss town.

I was reading and found a market in Basel on Saturdays that is suppose to be pretty good. I haven't been able to find any other information about it - like when it is, if it is worth the trip. I will be staying in Zurich and was thinking of taking a day trip to Basel to see the market and town. Would appreciate any information about it. Thanks!

HELLO FOLKS. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW MUCH IS A TRAIN TICKET FROM BASEL TO PARIS? I HAVE TRIED TO FIND PRICES ON SEVERAL WEBSITE BUT NO ONE SHOWS PRICES.. THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE.

I'm considering booking a Sunday morning flight to Paris from Istanbul, with a stop in Basel. EasyJet will only allow me to book these as two separate flights. The Istanbul-Basel flight lands at 05:40 and the Basel-Paris flight leaves at 06:40. I will only have a small backpack with me. Is this enough time to make this connection? I've heard that some airports close the gates 40 minutes prior to departure and I am a bit concerned.
