Lauterbrunnen Switzerland experts..Help, help! Where should we go the week after Thanksgiving? Nov 28th-Dec 2?
Posted: Sun October 18, 2009 11:09 PM UTC
I have posted in several forums with only one reply.

Flying into Zurich on Nov 28th. Have to be in Strausburg France on Dec 2 for business. We want to see the OB, but are concerned it is too much the slow season. Should we go to a larger town? Will the OB be active enough to experience the area?

Grindelwald a better idea? We have not seen this area and will have a car. Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm glad I have found this forum! Being new to vt it is taking me a while to know the site. My questions are: What is the best way to get to Lauterbrunnen from Zurich, and then from Lauterbrutten to either Bellagio or Venice?
Trying to plan our 1st trip and would appreciate any help!

Lauterbrunnen Easy hikes
Posted: Mon August 24, 2009 09:21 AM UTC
Hi! Will be in Lauterbrunnen for 8 days. love to do a bit of hiking but easy trails as I fractured my ankle just 3 months ago and am limping.dont wish to overstrain it or worsen it at my age. (52) this is too beautiful a place not to do some walking. can anyone suggest any easy trails if possible on asphalt ground. i know it is a stupid question to ask of such a rugged area but am desperate to do a bit of walking if not to the top of anywhere then just a little up and do a return. thanks. the murren hike which lasts about 2 and a half hours one way which i read in this forum. is it an easy one?

Lauterbrunnen Itinerary for 3 Days in Lauterbrunnen
Posted: Mon July 20, 2009 12:33 AM UTC
Hello!

My husband and I are planning to go from Milan to Lauterbrunnen, and then on to Lyon. We will be in Lauterbrunnen for 3 days (September 7-10), and are traveling by train, so we will not have a car. We do not ski, and we are not big hikers, although we don't mind doing some walking. The area looks beautiful! I am hoping somebody can tell me some things we can do while we are there. Are there easy day trips, such as Interlaken or Gimmelwald? Any help you can offer would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Happy Travels!

Lauterbrunnen Jungfrau & Tremmelbach Falls in a day?
Posted: Wed May 27, 2009 04:14 PM UTC
We’ll be in Lauterbrunnen for a full day in August. We’ve planned to go to Jungfrau in the morning - perhaps taking the good morning fare, and then come back and visit Trammelbachs. Do you think it is achievable?

I read somewhere that there is bus going from Lauterbrunnen to tremmelbach. How long does it going to take? How far is the waterfalls from the drop off point (entrance)? Where can I find the bus schedule and fare?

Thanks for your help and suggestions!

Cheers!

Lauterbrunnen Four days
Posted: Fri March 20, 2009 01:39 PM UTC
I have four days in Lauterbrunnen and this is my itinerary.

Day 1 - Lauter - Wengen. Stop and see Wengen, then proceed to Jungfrau.
Return to Lauter via Grindelwald.

Day 2 - Lauter - Murren. Stop and see Murren, then proceed to Schilthorn and
back.

Day 3 - Day trip to Interlaken (Trummelbach falls)

Day 4 - Day trip to Interlaken (Lake Thun & Spiez).

Is this a good plan or can I see a few more places in between.

2. The sbb.ch website shows the first train from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfrau is at 0830 hrs. Is this the "Good Morning" train.
3. How do I check fares in the sbb site. After I enter the details in the buy ticket page, it still stays in the same page.

Thanks

Lauterbrunnen Should I get a regional pass with half-fare card?
Posted: Thu July 31, 2008 03:51 PM UTC
Hello,

My wife and I will be in Switzerland and will have purchased a half fare card. We will also be in Lauterbrunnen for a few days and want to do Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn, Schynige Platte, etc..., and we're not sure if it's worth it to get a regional pass as well. Considering many of those "special" journeys have supplemental costs even with the regional passes, I'm not sure it's worth my while if I already have a half fare card. Can anyone offer advice?

Lauterbrunnen anything other to do?
Posted: Thu July 3, 2008 04:41 PM UTC
hey guys!
I've been in Jungfraujoch already 2 times, but the problem is , that I'm buying a package holiday trip from a travel agency, so the time is all planned, and even if I dont' want to go up, to the top, I need to spend somehow around 6 hours by myself. LAst time I tried to spend these hours somehow interesting ( as you see, near Jungfraujoch I've already been 3 times; gone to top = 2 times), but my effort was worthless. I wanted to visit Mystery park, but they told me it's closed. I went to Interlaken, Wilderswil ( if I spelled it good); maybe someone has got any suggestions of any nice places other to visit and intersting ( like MYstery park) , or some nature nice things, to walk, or wander?

Lauterbrunnen Trip to the Jungfraujoch (Top of Europe)
Posted: Thu June 12, 2008 05:59 PM UTC
We are going to Switzerland this summer and will be staying in the Interlaken region. We want to do the trip to the Jungfrau all the way to the top of course. I have been reading lots about it and have noticed that you can take the train from Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald. We have a car so we will drive up to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald and take the train from there to the Jungfrau.

My question to you is which of these train trips is the most beautiful. Should we take the train to the Jungfrau from Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald? It won't be our only visit to Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald as we will be staying for 11 days in that area. I just want to know which train trip is the nicest of the two.

Thanks in advance,
Ann

Lauterbrunnen Weather and wildlife in late May?
Posted: Sun April 27, 2008 07:41 PM UTC
Hello,

We are excited about our upcoming trip exploring the Berner Oberland region. Using Interlaken as our base, we will be exploring and hiking in the nearby areas, including Lauterbrunnen, Murren, and of course the Schilthorn and Jungfrau. Would anybody who lives, or has traveled to this area during this time of year be able to provide any insight as to the weather we should expect? Of course, we know it will vary depending on the elevation, but any suggestions for how to pack would be helpful. Also, any idea of what kinds of animals and vegetation we could expect to see? Thank you!
