we will be staying in moltrascio at a best western hotel near villa d'este. how far are we from lugano and is it a difficult drive. we will have a car which is best way car train boat. we will be there from october 8-11

My starting point is Munich. I want to visit Venice, Add'l Italian city (Florence? Milan?) and Lugano/Locarno lake area in Switzerland.

Can anyone suggest a place to stay near the lake? Should I make reservations now online, or will it be easy to find hotels with vacancies once I am there (end of June)?

I will be travelling from Lugano to Tirano in late May in order to take the Bernina Express up to St. Moritz. I already have the Swiss Pass and seat reservations on the Bernina Express, but I don't know how to book a seat reservation on the bus from Lugano to Tirano (if possible). The day I'm going is a national holiday and there's only one bus, so I think a reservation would be a good idea!

Rail Europe directed me to Swiss Post Bus and Swiss Post Bus directed me to www.Rail.ch. I sent Rail.ch an email two days ago, but haven't heard back yet. The bus number shown at www.Rail.ch (SBB) is 5500, and it shows "seat reservations compulsory." Does anyone know how to book this bus in advance (I'm in USA), or is there a good email address for www.Rail.ch that I could email? I'm leaving in two weeks, so there's probably not time to have paper documents delivered (but I already have the pass, just need the reservations). Thanks!

We will go to Lugano over easter and are looking for a good cheap hotel close to centrum in Lugano? Not over SCF 200 a night for a dubble room. I'm happy for all the help I can get.

We are planning to stay about 7 days in the Veneto area in June this year. To visit Venice, Padua, Vicenza and Verona where should one stay?

Also any suggestions of a small hotel for our stay (comfortable not glitzy).

do anyone know about where can i find some longer term affordable accomodation in Lugano? if you know i'd be happy to get a mail somac at addict dot hu

Just packin a bag for my journey to Suisse and with the heat wave in europe, just wondering should I pack only summer clothes or do I need some woolies, especially up them fab mountains. Tell me of the weather. And anything else you think I should know
