Lugano Best hotels overlooking lake lugano
Posted: Thu September 6, 2007 10:14 PM UTC
Hi

this area is very unknown to me. I'm from the uk and am planning to visit lugano in march 2008 as a surprise for my husband as he originates from a village nearby. I feel Lugano is the best place to stay just by browsing on the internet. I wanted to stay in a 5 star hotel with great views of the lakes. We're still relatively "young" (I think!!) so would prefer something not too formal but still 5 star. Any help would be greatly received.

THank you

Lugano What is San Mamete like?
Posted: Tue April 24, 2007 11:30 PM UTC
I am considering staying in San Mamete for a week.

I am looking for a beautiful, peaceful place with great food.

Would San Mamete be too isolated and remote in your opinion or is it an gem of a place?

Thank you.

Lugano Lugano to Menaggio
Posted: Thu April 12, 2007 02:16 PM UTC
Does anybody know how long it takes to get from Lugano (airport) to Menaggio? I'm seeing 18 kilometers from town to town but don't have any idea what buses run or how long they take. Is taxi an option and if so how much do they cost? It sounded like a lot of people commute from Menaggio to Lugano for work but I can't seem to find how long (time wise) that is.
Thanks,
Mike P.

Lugano Need area code and dialling instructions for Caslano
Posted: Mon April 2, 2007 05:09 PM UTC
My sister is trying to locate friends who live in Caslano, and she has a phone number for them but is unable to reach them - I don't think she has the area code. Can someone please give me the area code for Caslano. To dial from the US I believe it is 011-41, the area code and then the phone number. If this is wrong, please give me the correct dialling info.

Thanks for any help.

Lugano Visiting Switzerland - need a little direction
Posted: Wed February 21, 2007 07:36 PM UTC
This will be our second time visiting Switzerland. Absolutely love it there! Our base will be near Interlaken. However, this time I really want to see Ticino, Lugano. I just love with pictures of the palm tress and the lake and mountains.

As we will be traveling there during the day and probably back in the evening, where do you think will be best places to go to see the best scenery, palm tree, lake and mountain combination. I heard there is a botanical garden there. We also love boating, parks, moderate hiking. Thanks so much for any help provided.

Thank you!

Lugano The photos?
Posted: Sun January 14, 2007 01:59 PM UTC
Just out of curiousity, what time of the year were the Lugano photos taken?
I only ask as I am curious to find out when the best time to visit is to see the surrounding mountains with green in their colour.

Kind Regards

Lugano Lugano to Tirano
Posted: Tue January 9, 2007 08:42 AM UTC
We wish to travel on the Bernina Express on Monday 21st May from Tirano to St. Moritz. I believe there is a bus from Lugano to Tirano which meets up with the train in Tirano. As we will be on Lake Como for the previous 3 days I need to know if the connecting bus, Lugano to Tirano, stops anywhere on Lake Como and if I can reserve a place on it and what it costs etc. I would be grateful if you would reply to my E Mail address. Thank you

Lugano Has anyone stayed at Hotel Lago Di Lugano?
Posted: Wed April 19, 2006 11:02 AM UTC
Hi, we are planning to stay with our two kids at this KidsHotel in Bissone,Lugano called Lago Di Lugano. Has anybody been here and would you recommend it as worthwhile ?Its quite expensive, though supposed to be a 4 star. But since it claims to have lots of fun stuff for kids plus the family apartment seemed nice, I was considering it. Any recommendations would be welcome.
