We are leaving in 2 weeks for Pescara and we have decided to take the bus from the Tiburtina station.
I have been trying to locate a physical address for where we will be arriving in Pescara so I will have some idea how far we will be from our Hotel.
I have not been able to find the information so I can locate the station on google maps.
Does anyone have the address or give me some sort of idea where the station is located.
I would appreciate any help.
Thank you.
I'm flying to Pescara in September and looking for help to get to San Giovanni Rotondo from there . Can anyone advise the cheapest and best way of doing this.
Thank you
I will be staying in Mosciano sant Angelo. I have been told there is a bus from there to Giulianove. Can someone confirm that for me and give me a site where i can see the routes and time tables. I would like to trvel by bus ot other towns. I am assuming buses from Giulianova go to different towns. Pease help. Grazie D.
I hope I can get some answers on this "challenging" plan I have: Next spring my parents (in their 60's) would like to go by car from Frankfurt/Main in Germany to L'Aquila in the Abruzzi, Italy.
I recommended to them to make two stops on this stretch. Who can tell me, what the first stop in Italy after the Brennero could be? A nice hotel (double room about 100 Euro), things to do the next day, then the second hotel around Ferrara, for example, with another stay, things do do or see until they start to get to their final destination L'Aquila. They love italian original food, their wines, the culture.
I'm excited to read your tips!
Regards, stellamaria
Anyone familiar with this hotel in Loretto Aprutino-It looks terrific on the internet however it is tough to get any reviews. Is that a good place to spend a week to expolore the entire region or is francavilla al mare a better choice. We do not want to stay directly in Pescara--Gene
What area of Italy would you compare this to?Is two weeks far too long to spend in this area. I would really appreciate an overview of the area in general-Thanks-Gene
I was just wondering if there are any good campgrounds, clean, safe near the park with waterfalls. Are there any dangerous animals or insects to watch out for at night and day? How cold does it get at night at the end of June? Are general belongings safe in the car at night, such as plain clothes? Thanks for your help!
Planning to visit Chieti in the fall of 2009. Would really like to find my family living there and correspond with them before hand. Any ideas on how I can do this from the USA would be greatly appreciated. Family names: Passante, DiBenedetto, Scollo. Would like to correspond with someone in the area by e-mail. Thank you
Does anyone know the fastest and easiest way to get from Sorrento to Pescara? We are travelling from Rome to Sorrento and then going to Pescara. I know that there is a bus from Rome to Pescara but cannot seem to find any information about travelling (train/bus or Air) to Pescara from the Naples/Sorrento.
Can anyone help me?
In September i will be moving to Pescara for 10 months to study as an erasmus student at the University. I would be grateful if anyone could give me any information on What Pescara's like, what it's like for students and just general information on things to do and how much things cost.
I can't seem to find any information on the internet really so starting to get slightly worried now.
I was hoping someone could help build an itinerary that will get me from Rome to Giulianova. I was thinking of spending two full days in Rome (check in sunday night, check out Wednesday morning). I need to be in Giulianova for my sisters wedding by Thursday. Is there somewhere we can stop on the way for one day? We will leave Giulianova on Sunday morning. Is there a one week itinerary we should follow?
Hello everyone. Just a simple one: where is the best street/area in Pescara for clothes/shoes shopping? Just general commercial stuff. Also, I would like to buy local cheeses and cured meat. Anywhere good you can recommend (preferably close to the commercial shopping area above)?
We are booking for next June and are looking at this area as a second option. Is Francavilla nearby other small villages and is Francavilla itself a fiarly nice village. We looked at the Sporting Hotel Villa Maria and will have a car. Also
1-How much time is the drive from Naples to Francavilla
2-How much time is the drive from Abruzzo area to Rome--
Thank you-Gene
I will be making a short trip to Italy to visit someone in Giulianova, just north of Pescara and am struggling to find a nice place to stay.
I have to decide whether to stay 1) by the sea in Giulianova (or similar town on the sea like Alba Adriatica or Rosetto degli Abbruzzi), 2) in a "real" town more inland (Atri, Teramo or Mosciano Sant' Angelo or 3) in Pescara itself.
I prefer option 2 but can't seem to find a decent place to stay in the inland places.
The real criteria is that it's within 30 minutes from Giulianova and that it's a pleasant and reasonably priced placed (up to 100 euros).
Second attempt to post.....
Is there anything worth seeing along A14? Getting there is half the fun!!! Traveling in April, hope to enjoy the beach a bit. An restaurant suggestions???
I was a teacher on a student trip to Italy. Found the tourist crush a pain in Rome, Siena & Florence. Then I took a weekend off and drove alone to the Abruzzi. Loved it. Mountains, clean air, old unspoiled little towns, no foreign tourists. I want to take a small student trip to the Abruzzi next year, but it's hard to find information. If anyone knows the area around Leonessa, Rieti, I'd be grateful to read your story. Hotels? Trekking trails? Excursions?
Hi, I am staying in a small village called Serramonacesca which is about 40minutes from Pescara we are staying from July 28th to August 4th, there will be four adults and four children of ages 5,8,12 and 16. Our challenge is to find something for everyone to enjoy, we have the beach, i understand there is a waterpark within driving distance and ive come accross some pretty villages etc however, Is anybody aware of any kind of events i.e. traditional, music, art etc on in this week, if not does anybody know of any useful websites or any reccomended restaurants?
Know its a bit of a long shot but any help is greatly appreciatted.
Many thanks
Aidan.
Copper Conca Posted: Sun May 27, 2007 06:19 PM UTC
Hi
I need to buy a copper conca - the traditional Abruzzese water jug that gets carried on the head - do they have them for sale at the L'Aquila market, is it every morning? What time does it run from?
I will be returning to Barrea, in Abruzzo, late this summer for my second visit. I would like to take the train from the airport (DaVinci) to Avezzano, then a bus to Barrea. Anyone know how that works? Or would it be smarter just to rent a car again (with automatic transmission this time!) and drive? Thanks,
Emily
I know there is train service between Rome and Chieti, but I would like to go to La Fara di San Martino near there. Could someone tell me how to do so, please?
Both of my father's parents were from Abruzzo>Chieti>Fara San Martino. It is our first trip to Italy. We will be taking a tour of Venice, Florence and Rome... in that order. I want to arrive three days early (July 29, 2007) so that we can take a one day excursion to Fara S. Martino and then meet the tour in Venice (on Wednesday August 1).
My wife and I are in our mid 50's. We are not naturalists or rock-climbers. My research suggests that we might be more comfortable staying in a hotel or B&B in a larger town on the coast (like Pescara) and driving to la Fara for the day. We're not party animals either, and I've read that, except for the nightlife, Pescara has little to offer. We would like to stay in a town that is reasonably close to la Fara (within two hours by car), but one that caters to tourists. I hope to be conversationally fluent in Italian, but would feel more comfortable if I knew that our hosts were fluent in English.
How would I to the Goriano Valli (Tione degli Abruzzi - Fontecchio), Province of L'Aquila, Region Abruzzo from the Fiumicino airport? I have no clue - would it be train or bus and how long would it take?
