Hello all

I am planing to go in Slovenia on my own from Dec 23th until Dec 28th, so I will spend Christmas there.
I have nothing to do for Xmas,so I pick up Slovenia because is very close, I have just few days off and I never been there.
My idea is to have 05 days in a very good hotel and to spend 5 luxury days as Xmas present for me :)).

I have in my mind to go straight to Ljubljana visit and enjoy the town but If you know something more specific or fun or that doesn't exist anywhere else than Slovenia could you please advise me.

Any specific idea for a good place for Xmas day will be welcome too.

I like motorbiking..but not sure it will be the good seasons

On Sunday, I need to catch a bus hopefully at about 10am...or so from Ljubljana (assuming the journey takes 3 hours) to Zagreb....in order to catch the 14:45 flight in Zagreb.

Are there many companies which operate this route?

Right now since I start the journey in Bled, I find I have to catch 6:30 bus to Ljubljana, then 8:35 train to Zagreb.

I am just wondering if there are buses that allow me to have an extra hour or two of sleep?

Does anyone know the nearest thermal bath someone can visit if staying in Ljubljana? I have had a look on the Slovenian tourist site but as I dont know the geography the listings didnt mean anything to me. How much does entry to these cost? what treatments/facilities are available?

I will arrive in Ljbjana on 22 September 2008 and will immediatly go to Lignano Sabbiadoro for a fantastic holidays. I will return to Ljbjana on 30 September from Lignano and immediatly take te flight to home. Can some one suggest me tehe fastest way to reach Lignano from Ljbjana

Considering travelling for our honeymoon on 14th december 2008 fr 3 nights. Will there be snow - pretty definately, likely, possibly, unlikely, very unlikely, unheard of???
Are there mountains/lakes nearby? Would love to try cross country skiing or go on togogan but not sure if snow likely.
If not, what acitivities as well as relaxation (spa, eating out, walks, sights etc) please.
Any ideas on where to stay that may not be a big hotel but be special in some way, maybe rustic charm (not the art prison though!) or luxurious but reasonable price.

What is the easiest way to Klagenfurt Airport from Ljubljana over Ljubelj? I once went through the whole city centre of Klagenfurt and it was really hard to find the right way. Thanks.

After spending a few days in Ljubljana, we're going by train (via Rijeka) to Lovran in Croatia. For reasons explained below, if you're interested, it would be convenient for us to have some Croatian kuna with us when we get off the train at Rijeka. Are there banks or currency exchanges in Ljubljana that would convert Euros to kuna for us before we leave? (And if the answer is yes, would we be throwing away a fortune by making such a deal?)

The reason: It will be late in the day when we get to Rijeka, and we'll have to take a taxi to the bus station, buy the tickets we'll use a couple of days later to head for Plitvice, and then get on the local bus to Lovran. All of these transactions will require kuna, and it would be worth paying a certain amount extra not to have to think about where to get the kuna just at that moment.

I hope someone's experience can supply an answer.

We are a Brazilian couple with a baby boy(18 months old)and we are going to Luibliana in Sept 03th-10th.

1) How propably will be the wheather? Cold, comfortable?
2) Could you please suggest us a budget place to stay ,also easy place to reach by bus or tram, as we will have many things to carry...the stroll, luggage and the baby :)
3) Is it easy to find baby food on the supermarkts? Such as Nestle, Gerber?

We are worried how to feed our baby...as it will be his first time abroad... and our first time with a baby.

I was going to have a car and do a loop from Munich down to Ljubljana and Bled but I'm wondering about driving into Ljubljana with the car and to where I might park it overnight If I were to use a hostel. I have driven in europe before but mostly in smaller places not in cities. I did manage to navigate Zurich and Bern! what do you guys think?

My Fiancee and I would like to travel around Slovenia between Christmas and New Year in a hire car.
When we travelled around other Central European Countries in Sept and Oct we were able to stay at wherever we saw signs "zimmer frei" or "sobe".

I understand that there is a similar situation in Slovenia but I don't want to get caught out especially in Winter over the holiday season
We would probably book the 24 and 25th in Ljubljana but then we would just like to 'play it by ear', drive thruogh a town and look for accommodation.
Please can you give me some opinions as to whether this is feasible? We'd probably want to stay a couple of nights near Kobla, Vogel, Kravavec, or Kranj
and then a couple of nights near Mariborsko Pohorje. We have a car so little villages nearby would be just fine.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Please, I am in need of some info about traveling by train and/or bus to Prague. I will be coming from Ljubljana to Prague; can anyone please reccommend and refer me to the bus and train routes for this trip? How long does it take? Must I stop in Vienna for a break to make this work?

I am spending christmas in Ljubljana with my two sons ages 21 and 18. Any recommendations would be appreciated, particularly as to where we might be able to eat on christmas day

I will be leaving Ljubljana early on Oct. 13th. Is there any recommendable accomodation (single room with shower) close to the airport just for the night of Oct 12th ?
