leaving luggage Posted: Mon September 28, 2009 05:42 AM UTC
Plan of arriving in Vienna by air. Then want to take bus to Bratislava and then bus to Prague and then back to Vienna for a flight to Asia. I have a lot of luggage as I will be staying in Asia for 4 months. I don't what the hassle of carrying this luggage all over and want to leave it at either the airport in Vienna or first stop in Bratislava.
Anyone know where I can leave my luggage at airport or downtown Vienna or at a bus station in Bratislava?

staying in bratislava area Posted: Mon August 10, 2009 10:32 AM UTC
Hi!
I'm coming to Slovakia at the end of august. I want to spend a couple of days visiting Bratislava before enjoying the Tatra mountains, but I'd prefer to find a pension in the surrounding area, and to take my car just to get to town but not inside town. Will I find parkings, maybe near bus or train stations?
thanks for your suggestions!

Railway Station >>> Airport Posted: Thu July 23, 2009 02:11 PM UTC
Hi all!
I need to go to the airport from the railway station. I've checked the timetables but seems I may not be able to do it.
So I'm arriving to Bratislava hl. st. at 08:00 (hopefully) and must be at the airport no later than 09:20. Do I have a good chance to catch that goddam plane?
Your suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.

in Bratislava for a day Posted: Wed July 22, 2009 11:00 AM UTC
My family is planning a trip to Vienna in September. Since some of my ancestors are from Bratislava, I would like to visit there for a day. If someone could help me with the following questions, I would be appreciative:
1. Is one Saturday there enough to see a majority of the city?
2. Is there a reputable company that guides tours in English or would the city be best visited by one's self on foot?
3. Is Bratislava best visited from Vienna by train?
4. Do many people in Bratislava speak English, German or Russian?
5. What are typical souvenirs from Bratislava?
Thank you,
Michael

Visiting Hungary and Czech republic via Bratislava in Slovakia Posted: Mon June 15, 2009 12:24 AM UTC
Hello everyone ;)
I will be in Bratislava in the end of August, I desperately need the EXACT prices and timetables to go from Bratislava to Praha and Budapest, but especially to the close Hungarian town of Masonmagyarvornear Bratislava. Did someone ever come to this little town, how is it?
I already looked in so many forums and train and transport websites but I am totally lost, I spent days to get the infos and still have nothing! I look for the cheapest way, bus or train.
By the way, if anyone have tips and advises for these countries through their travel experiences, it would be perfect.
Thank you so much, :)

Centrally located hotel or pension? Posted: Sat June 6, 2009 07:09 PM UTC
Hi,
I'll be staying for one night in Bratislava later this month. Can anyone recommend a hotel or pension - needs to be in or within walking distance of the Old Town and Danube. Doesn't need to be luxurious, just clean and centrally located :)
Cheers Phil

Transport from central train station to city centre Posted: Wed March 4, 2009 09:51 PM UTC
Hello All!
We're off to Budapest at the end of the month and will doing a day in Bratislava. We'll be taking the train from Budapest Nyugati station and I believe we arrive at Bratislava Central station. From what I read in the travel pages and in my guide books the city centre is about 1.5 km from the train station. Unfortunately my Budapest guide book doesn't say much about Bratislava except how to get there and my Czech/Slovak Republics guidebook does not go into detail on how to get from the train station in Bratislava to the town centre.
What bus/tram/metro can we take if we don't just walk there?
Thanks a bunch~

Hello all
Can anyone recommend a pub in Bratislava that has Sky Sports? I'm interested in hearing all suggestions as we are hoping to see a rugby game that's on in April while we are in Bratislava.
I emailed the Irish pub The Dubliner but the address failed.

Russia train tickets in Bratislava Posted: Thu January 29, 2009 04:24 AM UTC
Hello.
We are agroup of 6 people planning a trip to eastern Europe by august 2009. I found some information from travelers, that is possible and cheaper to buy a train ticket from Moscow to St Petersburg, in Bratislava.
If this information is true, I have some questions about:
I have to buy also a round trip ticket from Bratislava to Moscow, in order to buy the Moscow-St Petersburg?
I have to be citizen of Slovakia or any other European country to buy it.
Should I have to book in advance this trip by internet with a travel agency or ticket office in Bratislava?
Or is possible just to walk in and buy the tickets the day I’ll be there.
Can I buy and make at the same time a reservation for specific date, train and 1st or 2nd class berth?
And last, where to find the ticket prices and options in the internet.
Thanks
Francisco

How to get from the airport to the city centre Posted: Mon January 19, 2009 10:03 AM UTC
Hi everyone,
I am coming to Bratislava really soon. I will be landing in Letisko Airport Bratislava and was wondering which is the best way to get to the city centre. Which bus do I have to use? I guess it's better avoid taxi cause it is usually expensive.
Thanks in advance

Planning my first trip to Bratislava in March 2009 Posted: Mon December 8, 2008 03:20 AM UTC
Hi,
I am new to the site and was hoping to get some general information of an upcoming trip I am planning.
I will be going to Prague towards the end of March and from there I will be going to Budapest. I was hoping to stay for a night or two in Bratislava. I am American and have never been in the area before. I am interested in finding friendly locals and fun nightspots for people around my age (I am 31)
Could you please direct me to some popular spots and give me the names of nearby hotels? Also, how long of a train ride is the city from Prague and Budapest?
Thank you all so much in advance for your help!

Bratislava with childeren Posted: Sun November 16, 2008 10:38 AM UTC
Hello,
We're coming with the family to Bratislava in December, just a long weekend. Know the place pretty well myself and will do a one day trip to Vienna, visit the Christmas market etc.
But I want to spend one day in a spa/waterpark resort with the children (10 & 14 years old). any recommendations from anyone??
Should not be a to serious spa resort with nothing to do for the children though.
Regards,
