I will be on MSC Cruise from Venice to Bari as first stop. Within 5 hours, how can one go to town from the port by oneself, any public transport or just walk.
Hello all, I wanted some advice about how to get to Patras, Greece from Brindisi. We will be coming from Naples and arriving in Brindisi.
Are there many trips from Naples to Brindisi by both bus and train?
Which is faster and which is cheaper?
From Brindisi, is the ferry ride to Patras a safe and pleasant journey? No big waves? Or should I get ready for sea sickness? We plan to travel in Spring.
How often are the ferries to Patras from Brindisi? Daily? Are there many companies that do this route?

Hello all,
I am visiting the area of Puglia on a road trip, at the end of October and I would like to ask where can I see/listen grico music bands.
Are there any festivals or fairs with folk music between 23/10 and 28/10 in the area of Puglia?
We are coming from Zurich, Switzerland and would like to visit Padre Pio shrine at San Giovanni Rotondo, stay at hotel for 2 nights and then return to Zurich. What is the best way to get there and back to Zurich? We would like to leave Zurich on 19 Sept 09 and return 21 Sept 09 or 22 Sept 09. We want to fly but do not know what airport to fly to and economy hotel to stay in.
If I am arriving at the airport in the early morning 02SEP and later departing via ferry in the late afternoon, would I be able to check in my bags early with jadrolinija? or is there a suitable place in the Bari town area where I could leave bags??
We are taking a cruise out of Port of Bari in October. We will be taking the bus from Palermo to Bari. Need to know if there is a local bus to the port and about how far it is. Thanks!!!

I spent a month last September/October throughout Italy (Tuscany to Sicily). I will be returning with my mother this October for another 3 weeks and hope to spend a solid week to 10 days in the Puglia region. Because so many of the travel books are outdated, I am having a hard time gettin a feel for the safety in the region as a whole. My priest's colleague spent years in the region and said it was very dangerous? (perhaps he heard too many confessions while over there thus his viewpoint!). I figure if I could tackle Palermo then certainly Puglia will be a breeze....?
I am travelling with my family to foggia & gargano late 2009. We are travelling from Rome by train and using Foggia as a base to travel to other areas. If anybody could help with the following questions, it would really be appreciated -
1) are there many buses that link Foggia to towns on the gargano peninsula? (is there a website)
2) how are the roads around Foggia and Gargano?
3) how safe is Foggia and is there any street markets?
4) what is the best way to get from Foggia to Reggio Calabria? (what are the best websites to check)
Thanks for your help.
I'm catching a ferry to Bari from Corfu and will be arriving at 7.30am. I need to fly to Rome. I did find a cheap flight that leaves the same day I arrive at 10.45am but i'm worried won't make the flight on time. My other option is to fly out at 5pm but this leaves me with quite a few hours in Bari. Is there anywhere in the town I can store my bag while I walk around and do some sightseeing? I will have a giant backpack so don't really want to spend all day carrying it around with me.
Night Train "Targeste" arrives Bari Central Station at 07:05. Is there any possibility to take an 08:55 onwards flight from Bari Airport to Athens, keeping in view the transfer time?
Hello, Our cruise ship is docking in Bari for 3 hours on Tuesday, May 19th and I am wondering if it is worth even getting off the ship. We find the cruise ship excursions very expensive, but would like to "see what we could see" in this short time. Are there any sites? shops? restaurants? near the pier? How far from the pier to the Old Town? What could we possibly visit in this time? Thanks in advance!!!
What public transportation is available in Puglia? I'm interested in visiting the area but can not drive while there.
I have managed in Tuscany and Umbria But can not find information about Buses etc.in Puglia.

3.What are the best sightseeing place's to visit?
4.I might also be interested in a day sailig trip to Albania.Montenegro or Croatia,do you know hong long it would take to sail to either country.what are the ship companies that do the trip's and roughly how much it would cost?
Thank's,Chris.
I checked the website that was given but it is only in Italian. Can someone tell me how much is the bus fare from Rome to San Giovanni Rotondo and the schedule. Thanks
I believe there are at least 2 or 3 bus companies that offer a bus service departing Naples for Bari. Both Mazzotti & Marinobus and Mako operate bus services - I think Marino Bus has a service leaving about 12.30pm and arriving in Bari about 4.30pm. Both bus companies have websites online for bus tickets however both sites are a little tricky to navigate timetables and tickets as they are both in Italian only.
My son & his girl have Eurail 2nd class Youth passes and wish to buy walk on tickets for the bari to patras ferry at the port before boarding.
Unfortunately they can't book ferry tickets online - as Superfast/Blue Ferries don't offer online bookings for Eurail passholders which offer them free deck seating for the ferry crossing plus a fee for fuel surcharge and embarkation fees.
As they are travelling on a Monday evening, the 1st of June, we think that they should be able to secure walk on deck seats on the ferry providing we arrive 2 hours before boarding(8pm)as recommended by Superfast ferries.
My son is travelling by train in the morning from Sorrento to Naples in the morning. The 2.15pm train from naples via caserta to bari gets them to Bari too late at 6.15pm. (Then they must get from the train tot he ferry)
I have read quite a few blogs on this subject from other travellers who seem to have similar transport problems to us.
If any member can give us any information or advice that can help us we would much appreciate it.
Hi, friends? This is my first trip to ITALY. Do You know how to get to San giovanni rotondo(st. Padre Pio) from Assisi by bus? Is there a bus line without reservation? From Seoul,Korea
