Tottubella Posted: Mon October 5, 2009 12:15 PM UTC
hi
I am flying by ryanair to alghero and stopping at a hotel in Tottubella,,,is there any buses from the airport to the hotel and if not what are the options. If there is only a taxi what are the charges in sardinia.
Hi!
im arriving to sardinia for a low-budjet trip in mid october and planning on doing a diving course. i arrive to alghero airport by night (23:55) , therefore i need to pass the first night in alghero.
1. does anyone know about a nice cheap place to sleep in the night in alghero (with private rooms, we're a couple.)
2. what options of public transportation do i have from alghero to the north-east side of the island (Olbia)?
3. where are the best places to dive in the island? where is the less touristic and more economics areas?
I am looking for some advice and information if anyone can help!
I am organising a hen party in Alghero on the weekend of 26th September. On the saturday night we would like to go out dancing but it seems that Ruscello and La Siesta may both be closed by then.
I would like to know if there is another bar with lively dancing open until late?
Also, i would like to book a table for us (we are 16 people) in Miques de Mirral and also a bar called El Tro, but i can't find any phone numbers for them. Does anyone have a phone number for Miques de Mirall bar or El Tro?
We fly into Alghero airport at 09:50 and need to make our way to Valledoria. I understand there is only 1 bus in the morning to Valledoria that leaves at 10:15 which doesn't give us much time to get through customs etc and we shall probably miss this bus. I have been told that there are buses from AHO to Sassari and we can then hop on another bus to Valledoria. Can anyone tell me what times the buses leave AHO for Sassari after 10am and then how often do they run from Sassari to Valledoria?
the site was very useful to me. I plan my
itinerary right now and wonder if you know something about current
ARST schedule.
My question is the following: are ARST buses on the route OLBIA I.B.
-- SINISCOLA - OROSEI - NUORO pass through Orosei?
It seems funny, but the bus schedule on http://arst.sardegna.it says
that the route OLBIA I.B. -- SINISCOLA - OROSEI - NUORO goes from
Siniscola directly to Nuoro and no mention of Orosei is done. As I
plan to travel through Orosei, this tiny detail is crucial to me :)
Forest Fires Posted: Fri July 24, 2009 11:49 AM UTC
Can anyone give me the locations, either broadly or specifically, of the forest fires on Sardinia just now? Are they all located in one area, or spread out over a wide area of the island? Or is there a website which shows the locations? Many thanks.
hi
we are staying in cagliari for 3 days, can anybody suggest where the best beaches are, preferably in the south of the island.we are also going to a wedding in orestano, so any tips for round this area.
Hi!
I`m going on vacations in Alghero in 22th of july with my friend and we need one nice couple to join us traveling to north side of sardinia. We would like to rent a car but it`s to expensive to travel alone. So if there is somebody who would join us let me now.
P
I would like to travel from the Algarve to Sardinia by road and ferry and would like to know the least expensive possibilities .
Also I am coming to Sardinia for the first time but with an eye to may be live there for longer than holidays....am looking for a rather small quiet village not too far from tourist destinations...where do you recommend to look and what are the prices for a small studio appartment on a long term basis...it is probably best to come at the end of the season....
I will be flying to Alghero on August 20th (staying till 29th) and this is our (4p) first time to this island.
I hope you can give us some tips on what places to see in the north of Sardinia. We are currently thinking of the Palau or Santa Teresa Gallura areas (easy to visit La Maddelena or even Corsica) or even closer to the Emerald Coast (for the beaches and beautiful waters).
We are also looking for an apartment/holiday home/hotel for the period. Any tips?
Hello everyone! I am from Serbia and plan to go to the Sardegna. I plan to travel by car because it is much cheaper than the plane ... Did any of you know the easiest way to come to the Sardinian, ferry guess, but I do not know anything about the ferry... Any information will be of great use! Thanks
Hello everyone!
I hope that some of you will help me...
I thinking whether to go to the Sardegna In July. I hope that someone who has already been there help me with good advice ... Thank you all in advance!!!
Im eager to get out and climb or boulder. The only equipment I have is my harness. It seems that most of the climbs are on the east side of the island. I live in the north west.
Anyone from the north west area of Sardegna climb?
Hi,
I am visiting Caliari. Can anyone advise me what is the most economical way to travel to Sighientu Life Hotel & SPA from the airport in Caliari. How much would a 20miles taxi journey costs? Has anyone stayed at this hotel?
Was looking to go camping in Sardinia in early July. Has anybody visited the San Teodoro La Cinta campsite, or know if it's any good? We would like just a calm, shady spot to pitch for a week or so, near a beach, with enough space to relax. Is San Teodoro a good place to go, or are there nicer places to visit? We will have backpacks and no car, so will have to travel by bus/hitch/taxi. Any help and advice greatly appreciated!
since it is hard to buy bus tickets on sunday i was wondering if i can, for example, in Sassari, buy all my bus tickets for my trip, even if Sassari is not the starting point of destination point for a bus trip ?
if someone could answer this question, that would really help
Ok this is a really random request! I've been asked to play guitar at a friend's wedding in Alghero in September. I'm having second thoughts about taking a guitar on a plane (heard horror stories about this and Ryanair won't let you take a guitar as hand luggage, you're supposed to book a separate seat for it!!!).
I wondered if anyone could help advise what the likelihood of borrowing a guitar when I'm there would be? Or if anyone knows someone there that I could possibly borrow one from?
We will be staying at the Malia Hotel in June, next to the Geovillage sports complex, just outside Olbia. I am sure there will be a bus from the city centre for locals to get there. But Google doesn't bring up any English sites to let me look up which number bus. Can you help?
We are visiting what looks to be a beautiful island mid July for 12 nights - never been before and very keen to ensure we plan things just right. Was considering a villa or apt rental 6nts north and 6 nts south (flying into Cagliari incidentally)but very very open to suggestions - is this recommended? We're a family 2 adult 2 girls of 12yrs - can anyone recommend where to stay with enough to occupy the girls probably more than us - we adults will no doubt be just taken with the lovely surroundings and beaches as will they but I suspect they may want some other activities to keep them occupied. Keen to be close to nice restaurants and bars and not too quiet.
I am arriving in Sardinia in early June and I plan to see most of the island and its beauties travelling by public transportation. But I have some questions:
I got the impression that in Sardinia one buys the bus tickets from places like Tabaccos, bars and so on... But if I go to a certain small village where I cannot find any place selling tickets what do I do? Can the bus driver sell me one? And also what happens in the extreme cases like that - I have to catch an ARST bus from Sassari to Alghero airport at 4.45 in the morning, when obviously nothing is opened, so I can't buy tickets.
I would also ask what is the situation with tickets for the trains of FDS (MAcomer-Nuoro Line, where I will stop to see some Nuraghes) - do all stations have ticket desks and can you buy the ticket on the train?
And one last question - at the Alghero airport I have 10 minutres to catch the bus to the city of Alghero after the landing of my plane, and the next bus is a whole hour later. I will have only hand baggage and if the plane is not late I will try to catch that bus but where do I get a ticket for it? The driver?
Thanks very much to everyonoe who will reply to my peculiar and probably too specific questions:)
I'm planning to go to Sardegna in mid July and am flying in and out to Cagliari but was thinking of renting a car there so I can enjoy all of the island. Considering what I've said i got two questions, one is if 9 days is too long to stay in Sardegna ( in terms of camparision I was 8 days in Malta and after the 5th day was kind of bored ) and the second question is if it is worth it to spend a day in Cagliari once I arrive before heading to a hotel i would book somewhere on the island :).
Hey everyone.. just need a bit of help as I'm in the planning stages of my summer vacation and am not really getting a precise answer from my own research..
I'm heading to Sardegna from a little over a week and my biggest problem is deciding where on the island we should base ourselves.
The best flight connections I've found are into Cagliari and, from what I read, it's the bigger city..but how is it to travel around to nearby beaches or towards the Costa Smeralda??
To give a bit of a background I like to have a city at my disposable; I don't like to be holed up in a resort area with nothing to do and nowhere to go.
I also love exploring new beaches and from what I've seen through pictures, Sardegna has some beautiful ones (think, clear water and white sand)
So, where should I stay? If we end up booking a hotel in the Cagliari area would we miss out on the best the island has to offer? We haven't decided if we will hire a car or not.. how is it to get around?
Any and all help greatly appreciated!!! :)
Thanks!!
I am planning a trip to Sardegna this coming September/October. How long would it take to drive from Castelsardo to Calasetta? Does the ferry from one of Italy's mainland ports take vehicles or will I have to rent a car in Sardegna?
Not unsurprisingly, our Ryanair flight (13 may 09) has been delayed until a scheduled arrival time of 23.25!
As taxi fares in cagliari appear particularly high(?) does anyone know whether the airport bus into the town will still be running at that hour?
Also, would anyone know if the walk to the T HOTEL (cabin baggage only) would be feasible from the Bus Station - (always assuming of course we can get that far so late at night?)
Many thanks,
Brian & Helen
Extremely new to the forum and interested in getting to Capo Testa in Mid May. Can anyone tell me if its possible to hire a car service to arrive from where the ferry comes in from Rome to this area?
Is it allowed to camp there overnight or are there any hotels nearby?
Sorry to sound like a Saregna rookie but I am in Rome and my sportiva daughter wants to do some climbing when she is in Italy.
I am traveling to Sardinia in mid-May with a friend. We are in our mid 20s and are quite active - we would like to rent bicycles and kayak and experience nature. Not so concerned about city sights/bars etc (if so, we would have gone elsewhere).
We will fly into either Cagliari or Alghero, stay a night in the city, and then go somewhere a bit more quiet/less touristy. It would be nice if we had access to bike and boat rentals but not necessary (or maybe we can rent bikes in one of the cities and cycle to a nearby town to stay?)
Then we will return to the city for a day and a day or 2 at the end of the trip.
I read that Calasetta is a good, quieter place to visit near Cagliari.
Thoughts? Should we fly into Cagliari or Alghero? Which has more nature/exploration options?
