Freiburg im Breisgau i was in a bar...
Posted: Wed May 18, 2005 12:33 PM UTC
Hi

I was in a bar in freiburg last week-end, and it was so good i forgot the name.

i thought it was called the 'altrathauskeller', but i couldn't find anything with that name here, or in gelbeseiten, or anywhere else.

Location
so it's underground, under a fairly modern building with a shopping alley.

What it looks like:
totally underground, but high ceilings, 3 or 4 big rooms, maybe more (i didn't spend my time walking around), old style, with stones and wooden parts, it's got a big screen for german football on saturdays...

and last detail: in the men's toilets, when you ***, you score a goal on a miniature plastic goal...

they've got good cheap food (lots of choice for schnitzel, and much more), good beer (alt konig ludwig) and specials nights... every night. wednesday is beer night, for instance, monday, all 'long drinks' are half price, and so on.

SO i remember a lot, EXCEPT the name.

can anyone help? I'd very much like to find it again.

Danke sehr!

Freiburg im Breisgau Freiburg - Prague transportation?
Posted: Mon March 28, 2005 05:51 PM UTC
Hi All,
I'm going to need to travel from Prague to Freiburg in the beginning of June. What's the best way to get there: rail? plane? For the train, is there a website I can use to check times, connections and costs? Or, would it be better to fly?
Thanks for any help you might be able to provide!

Posted: Tue October 26, 2004 10:32 AM UTC
We are coming to . We are looking to get fairly average cost for a clean Apartment in safe area. We are tourists. Would it be diffecult to find?

We prefer an area whose residents are countryside people. In other words, crowded of people but safe and quite.

Freiburg im Breisgau Freiburg to Basel/Mulhouse airport
Posted: Thu July 8, 2004 06:49 PM UTC
hey all,

My girlfriend and I are headed to Portugal in September, flying out of Basel/Mulhouse airport. I know we could take the train to Basel and then some kind of bus (right?) to Basel but I heard that there is a bus directly from Freiburg to the Basel airport. Do you know anything about this? How much? Is there a website with times?

thanks!

Freiburg im Breisgau travel in and out of freiberg
Posted: Fri June 25, 2004 04:23 AM UTC
We will be travelling in southern Germany the week of July 11-15 in the Meersburg area (Lake Constance).
We would also like to visit Freiberg. How long would it take us to drive from Meersburg to Freiberg??

Then, what is the best way to get from Freiberg to Beaune, France. We won't have the vehicle for this leg.

Freiburg im Breisgau Directions by bus or tram?
Posted: Sat April 17, 2004 08:22 PM UTC
Hello,

I will be visiting Freiburg during the end of May, and would like to know how to go from the Hauptbanhof to Muensterplatz by either bus or tram. The hotel (Rappen) should be right across from the Cathedral from what I have read, if that helps any.

It's sometimes easy for me to get lost and I don't speak German, so any advice on how to get transportation maps once there would also be much appreciated!

Thanks!

I will be in Freiburg 24 - 28 May. Anybody up for a beer (or "viertele" :-))? Not Thursday, 27 May (reserved for a day trip to Basel).

In addition, any special tips for events that week in the area?

Thanks, Ingo

Freiburg im Breisgau Freiburg
Posted: Tue March 2, 2004 11:22 AM UTC
We are a family of 4 (2 with 50, 1 with 20 and 1 with 16) planning for September a 7 days stay in ALSACE.
We are budget travellers who especially look for accomodation in convents or Ibis hotels as they usually are cheap, clean, central and safe.

Our travel style is very relaxed so we love to explore places by foot. Normally we spend much of the day visiting museums, art galleries and other heritage sites.

We're supposing to arrive in Mulhouse/Basel airport and start there our tour.

Can anyone share an opinion about Freiburg - what to see and where to stay ?

Danke.

Freiburg im Breisgau Looking for a flat during Juni and Juli 2004
Posted: Fri February 27, 2004 08:47 PM UTC
Hi everybody!

I am planning to stay for a two months in Germany this summer and I am wondering if anyone know how to find a small appartment (ferienwohnung) near Keiserstuhl. I have some friends down there but I don´t want to live with them for such a long time (one week is one thing but two months, then you need your privacy).

Does anyone know about nice flat near Ihringen where I can enjoy lovely german summer with my german friends and also work dayly on my computer online!

I would be very greatful if you can point me out something!

Thanks,

Freiburg im Breisgau How to get to Freiburg from Karlsruhe, Stuuttgart or Zurich?
Posted: Fri October 3, 2003 11:27 AM UTC
I am travelling to Freiburg this October with my 4-years old daughter. We will take either a bus to Karlsruhe, or a plane to Zurich (or Stuttgart). Is there any bus service from the Zurich airport (or Stuttgart airport) to Freiburg (if there is some, how much does it cost)? Is there a bus service from Karlsruhe to Freiburg and what is the price for that? Thanks.

Freiburg im Breisgau Freiburg in October 2004
Posted: Tue August 5, 2003 03:39 AM UTC
We're planning a trip to Freiburg during 20-30 October... what are the must sees? What is the weather like? We're considering a trip up the Rhine & Moselle--is it too late in the year to do so? How far/easy is it to get to Paris or Prague? Can we do either in a couple of days? We know we'll definitely visit Strasbourg. Better to travel by rail or rent a car? THANKS

Freiburg im Breisgau Getting to Triberg
Posted: Tue May 13, 2003 09:30 AM UTC
Hello Oh-Worldly-Ones!

The last week in May I will be in Freiberg and want to do a day trip to Triberg. Does anyone know if there is bus service between them? I have looked into the train (which is easy and cheap) but I thought I would look into other options.

Thanks,
Kelly Anne
