Fussen Fuessen Train Station - Lockers?
Posted: Sat July 19, 2008 05:32 AM UTC
Hello! I'll be checking out of my hostel before seeing both castles, and eventually moving on to Munich, and I have a feeling I'll need a place to store my bag, in case the hostel won't let me. Does anyone know if the Fuessen Bahnhof has storage lockers?

Thanks!

Fussen Driving around Fussen
Posted: Sun April 13, 2008 09:51 AM UTC
Hi,

I understand that driving to the south of Fussen will pass through Austria and is there a need to purchase any permit to drive there? I am only driving around the castles and probably to Linderhof and then Lake Plansee, all in a day. Do I need a GPS?

Fussen Romantic Road on Europabus
Posted: Tue April 1, 2008 04:31 AM UTC
Hi ,

Just wondering if anybody tried this from Frankfurt to Wurzburg and all the way down to Fussen in a day ?

Then spend the night in Fussen before going to see the castles the next day.

What's your experience like ?
I guess the stops are very short to take photos and have a quick look...if any ?

thanks in advance!

Fussen Neuschwanstein castle tour
Posted: Wed March 19, 2008 03:47 PM UTC
I have booked the castle tour in english tour at 4:45 PM. I'm in a little tight schedule for returning to Munich. As per DB website there is a train leaving from Fuessen at 6.05 PM and its connecting bus from Hohenschwangau is at 5:40 PM. So looks like if the tour starts at the correct time I have a good chance to catch the bus to the Fussen train station. My question is how closely the tour schedule is maintained by the castle tour guides ? And if not are there taxis available to reach the train station. Thanks a lot in advance.

Fussen Name of Train Station
Posted: Wed January 2, 2008 03:09 PM UTC
Hi

I am trying to check information of trains from Cologne to Fussen using the DB website. When I enter "Fussen" as the destination, it prompted that "Fussen" yield several possibilities.

Would appreciate help as to what should I pick out of the whole list of possibilities that appear. Is "Fussen Bahnhof" the right one?

Help will be much appreciated.

Fussen fussen to oberstdorf
Posted: Sat September 1, 2007 06:17 PM UTC
Hi,

Is it possible to get a bus from Fussen to Oberstdorf? If so, what is the frequency and about how much does it cost? Would I have to book in advance?
It seems to be difficult to travel around that area without going to Munich.
Also, is there a bus that goes from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Fussen?
Many thanks:-)

Fussen Stay in Fussen or Schwangau
Posted: Mon August 20, 2007 05:49 AM UTC
Hi,

I will be in Munich to attend a conference and have decided to visit the castles for a day. I plan to spend two nights in the area with a whole day in between. What is a better place to base myself - Fuessen or Schwangau. I will not have a car- public transport will be my main mode of transport.

Also, should I book tickets for the castles from their website or is it possible to get them cheaper elsewhere?

Cheers,
Mr Hyde

Fussen Horse riding / Camel riding
Posted: Mon July 23, 2007 10:33 AM UTC
Does anyone know of any horse riding places for experienced and unexperienced people in the Fuessen/Schwangau area?

Also, I recall seeing a camel farm and know you can ride those, but am unsure how far away from Schwangau it is, as that is where we are staying and we would have to rely on taxi's to get around.

Thanks guys!

Fussen Accommodation near Fussen
Posted: Fri April 6, 2007 01:48 AM UTC
My husband and I will be travelling to Germany with our 2 children (8 and 10) in early June. We would like to use Fussen as our base for a few days to explore the castles and surrounding areas. I have narrowed our accommodation choices down to 2 properties - Haus L.A and the Allgauer Hotel. Given that the latter is situated out of Fussen, which would provide us with a better base? Also, which apartment configuration in these properties is better suited to a family? We will have a car so do not need the use of public transport - how far out of Fussen is the Allgauer?

Fussen Travel from Florence to Fussen
Posted: Thu February 8, 2007 03:32 PM UTC
My family (wife and 2 teens) will be travelling from Florence to Fussen in April. Is it possible to drive there in a reasonable amount of time? How about taking a train? Approximately how long of a trip would it be? We would love to see more of the country and rather not fly.

Thanks!!

Fussen Would you go to Fussen from Munich only for the day?
Posted: Tue June 20, 2006 01:12 PM UTC
Would you go to Fussen from Munich only for the day?
It is a 2 hours trip and I can not find many trains coming back and forth.
What would you suggest?
The next day I am taking the night train Munich-Koln and therefore it was easier to go for the day to fussen living my bags in the hotel in Munich until the other day at night. Do you know if there are lockers in Munich's train station? Maybe that would be an option.

Please give me some advice!

Thank you in advance!

Fussen Accomodations near Füssen or Reutte
Posted: Sat May 27, 2006 06:36 AM UTC
What are your suggestions for hotels or pensions or bauernhofs near Füssen or Reutte in September for a night a couple in their 60's on a budget?
We can't afford and aren't interested in luxury ... just nice, clean places with our own toilets ... hopefully places with character and a comfortable ambience.

Fussen Paris - Fussen - Venice
Posted: Thu May 18, 2006 08:10 AM UTC
Hi Everyone,
I am planning a trip in April next year and I need to know the following:
Best way to get from Paris to Fussen. To see the castles is it best to stay in Austria, if so what is the easiest and closest place to get me there. Or would we be better off going from Paris to Munich then Fussen. As time is limited I need to know is it Austria or Germany? Any help would be wonderful.

Thanks

Fussen Photos of castles in the evening?
Posted: Sat April 1, 2006 09:47 PM UTC
I'd like to get some shots of the castles without the hoards of people around. Can one walk around the grounds/trails after the tours are over (around 1900)? How close can you get to either of them? (i.e. could I walk to Mary's bridge?) Danke!
