I am considering going to Bologna for about 3 nights maybe early December. Was going to book flights independantly and stay somewhere cheap for financial reasons. Can anyone tell me, how far is the airport to the city of Bologna and what is the best travel method from the airport to our hotel which is near to the centre of the city.
Also, is Bologna a good place to visit, is it expensive and is there much to see?
hello,
We wish to travel by train(s) from Rimini to Vieste in early october and as quickly as possible. We'd rather not go all the way to Foggia and wonder if San Severo would be an option even if we had to travel on by coach. Our plane gets in quite early on oct5th. Our return leaves around mid day on the 16th so we'll need a train back up to Rimini on the 15th. Having said that a coach from SS is an option, I know there is a train that runs to Peschici and that would do nicely too.
Hoping you can advise, Roger and Rosie
We have a small Renault Twingo which we use when travelling to from Bologna Marconi airport to our italian cottage in Tuscany. We cannot afford to leave it in the airport car parks. Does anyone know of a car storage facility a taxi ride away from the airport? We do not mind paying a reasonable fee. It does not need to be undercover but that would be nice. We used to leave it at a friends home near Forli when Ryanair flew there. Now when we travel we have to get to and from Forli aswell. Can anyone offer any advice? Kind Regards. Eileen
I am flying into London from the US next week. Then with friend flying to the South of France, driving a bit and ending up in Bologna. My friends are flying back to London since they live and work there. I will have about a week to spend...anywhere in Europe...and then I have to get back to London to fly back to the US. I'm not trying to be too cheap, but affordable with my travel (train vs flying where it makes sense). I feel like I can make two stops. I thought about a train to Switzerland, then train to Paris, then back to London. Or fly to Paris, train to Amsterdam, then back to London. Barcelona has also crossed my mind.
Unfortunately not too specific, but any advice/ideas are helpful. Thanks.
I am travelling Bologna to Ferrara (and return) on Saturday 9/26.
The last train from Ferrara appears to be at 9:30pm.
Is there a later train? When?
Is there a later bus? When?

I will be flying into Bologna Marconi Airport, Then picking up a rental car to visit other regions of Italy. I would love to stop and have lunch in Bologna at a family style tratoria/restaurant. But I will have the rental car with me. Can anyone suggest a good home style tratoria? What about parking?
Also My flight back home from Marconi airport is early in the morning. Can anyone suggest a clean b&b/hotel where I can also park my rental car, within one hour of the airport. I don't want to spend more than 95 euro for a double room. Grazie sararosa

What is the quickest most economical way to get from the Milan train station to Linate airport. Is there a shuttle? How often does it run and what is the cost? Would a taxi be a better option? Rate?
I have read the distance between these locations is only 7km or 4 miles. The only reference to a shuttle is the STARFLY, and it takes 30 minutes. Could this be true?
parma tours Posted: Sat June 13, 2009 05:49 PM UTC
I would like to tour both a cheese factory and a prosciutto factory in Parma. Do you have any suggestions? Also I'm looking for a restuarant called Polipo. Can't seem to find it?

I just heard that the Bologna Central station is closed this sat-sun
I am arriving Sat early morning to BLQ, was planning to take the aerobus to train station, leave my luggage in storage there for a few hours and check out Bologna. I was planning to take a late evening train to Florence.
We need to travel from Rimini to Milan in the next couple of days. Im stuck finding out there are many types of trains to take...I thought there was only Europe Rail which gave many options...but I didnt see them in the train station we came in from Ancona to Rimini. What's the best way by train to get to Milan...Europe Rail or other...Europe Rail also does not allow access to schedules and costs within 2 days of travel...what's up with that??
I will attend a course at the University of Bologna (at Strada Maggiore) and I plan to stay at the Hotel Pedrini but found two addresses. One is 0.3 km (NW) away from the University and the other is 0.6 km (SE) away.
Which one is the main hotel?
Hotel Pedrini
Strada Maggiore, 79, 40125 Bologna, Bologna (Emilia Romagna), Italy 0.3 km
Hotel Pedrini Di Clelia Mengozzi EC Sas
Strada Maggiore, 79/2, 40125 Bologna (BO), Italy 0.6 km
I am flying Ryan air into Bologna, arriving at BLQ early Saturday morning.
I see that I can take a bus from BLQ to get to the Bologna station. I was wondering if there is option to store luggage at the station b/c I plan to leave my luggage and explore Bologna for a day. My wife and I then plan to catch the late evening train to Florence.
Also how much does it cost to store luggage there?
Also, any suggestions on what to do for a day in Bologna will be appreciated?
We are a group of 4-6 (age 26-29), planning to visit Italy and onwards (back-packing) in June, 2009. We would like to travel and visit as many places as possible and that too with minimum amount of time and money. I have made the following tentative itinerary with 2nd class fares (in Euros) on Regional Trains:
Question # 1: Kindly let me know if there are any one-way combined tickets available from Milan to Rome (via Florence and Pisa) effective for two consecutive days that cost less than the combined fare of the above itinerary? I am asking this question after searching on Eurail and trenitalia.
Question # 2: Can we stay at Bologna Railway Station for the whole night (Rest Rooms, other options)?
Could I please have a recommendation for a budget (under 70 euro) hotel or B & B in Bologna? It can be a very simple place, just clean with an ensuite bathroom. We are traveling by train and need a place close to sites and train station. Thank you!
Hi, there's a cheap hotel I've found (Hotel Imperial)in Bologna, it's a bit out of the city centre but apparently is easily accessible because it's on the number 25 bus route. So can anyone tell me how good a servcie is the number 25? What time does the last bus leave the centre of Bologna?
I'm looking for a place in Italy that meets (hopefully most of) the characteristics below and I think Ravenna may be it but I'd love to hear from you! I've never been to Italy though and the relocation would be for some 6 or 9 months starting in October or so.
My Italian is very basic at the moment and I'll be moving from NYC.
.Near the beach (preferably with some good beach volleyball);
.Small town where government is efficient and paperwork gets processed promptly;
.There are people (preferably single) in their 20's and 30's.
in late august this year i will be coming to riccione for 2 weeks.
My girlfriend and i went there last year and the one before aswell and really had a great time. But last year we suddenly heard motorcycle sounds....As it turned out Valentino Rossi was racing his bike around the Misano track!!!which was virtually around the corner!!!Being a fan of Valentino since his first season 1996 i had to go see it,unfortunatly we had to leave sunday morning so i missed the race and could only go to the qualification.
so this year we planned our holiday around the race.We will be going to riccione by car due to comfort reasons for my girlfriend,1500km on the back of ZX6R would kill her.So it would be really nice to rent a motorcycle.Preferbly in riccione but rimini or another near by city would be fine aswell.I hope someone can help me,cause i cant find anything on google.
I thank you very much........
Greets from Valentino's biggest fan from The Netherlands...

Does the Giareda festival occur each year? Are there more activites in Reggio 'nell Emilia during that week in addition to the floral decoration of the Santuario Della Modonna Della Ghira? Might need to budget a little more time.
