Ohrid Hiking trails in Galicica
Posted: Mon July 7, 2008 06:48 PM UTC
Hello,

Does somebody have any information about the marked trails in Galicica National Park? Where do they start, etc.

In May we met somebody who traveled with a Dutch organization (SNP travels) and he had descriptions of the trails and marks. Unfortunately, this person did not get back to me...The travel agency does not give out information without an arrangement...

Thanks,
Dennis

FYR of Macedonia Archeological site Trebenista
Posted: Sun July 6, 2008 08:46 AM UTC
Hello,

Last year, me and my girlfriend (she's from Skopje so I have a great translator) tried to find the archeoligical site Trebenista near Ohrid site but we did not manage to find it.

We spoke to some old men near the village Trebenista, who told us that you could only reach the site after a hike of an hour through the hills and that the trail was not easy to find, and full with snakes.

(We had the feeling they didnt like people to visit the site, maybe because of vandalism or something).

Could somebody give me some directions how to get there, we might go to Macedonia this month...(and we're not vandals :-)

Thanks
Dennis

PS If somebody has information about hiking trails in Galicica National park, or in Macedionia in general, I would be *very* interested as well!

Skopje Travel from Sofia to Skopje
Posted: Wed June 18, 2008 01:21 PM UTC
Hi all,

I am trying to find info online of transport available between Sofia and Skopje. The only link I have found is this 1

http://tis.centralnaavtogara.bg

According to this there are only 2 buses per day. However when I was there in 2007 I seem to remember there were lots more buses than that. Does anyone have any info they can help with please?

Any help much appreciated.

Keep well,
Stevie

FYR of Macedonia What type of visa would I need?
Posted: Thu June 12, 2008 11:43 AM UTC
I'm an Albanian citizen and am intending to travel to Serbia through Macedonia and back again to Albania through Macedonia. I already have the Serbian visa. What type of Macedonian visa would I need? I heard I would need a double transit visa but that option is not on the visa application form.

The options in the application form are :

1. Entry visa
2. Exit-Entry visa
3. Transit visa

Posted: Sun May 18, 2008 09:58 AM UTC
As it seems, I'll probably go to Veles in the end of June, and stay there for a few days.

I can't find any tips, so I'd like to know if any of you have any info about city?

I'm interested in any sightseeing places there, shopping, nightlife, restaurants, anything that would make my stay there more enjoyable.

Thank you in advance.

Skopje Hotels near airport
Posted: Tue April 29, 2008 05:46 PM UTC
Hi! Are there any 3,4 or 5 star hotels near Skopje airport? I'm spending 1 night in Stonebridge Hotel first, then I'm driving to Ohrid for 2 nights, and then back to Skopje via Krushevo. I'm catching a plane very early the morning after, and I was thinking of avoiding Skopje downtown and sleep in a hotel near the airport, but I can't find any. Any suggestions?

FYR of Macedonia Turkish minority festivity agenda
Posted: Mon April 28, 2008 08:33 PM UTC
Hello,
I now live for 8 months in Skopje and I cant find info about popular parties and activities.
For example, does anybody know about colourful festivities in Turkish minority villages around Debar? I saw it once in a book but I cant find it back. I am looking for the dates of these parties, or any other info !
Any other date of popular party date in MK is welcome (other than Galishnik wedding and Struga Carnival)!
Thanks,

Kosovo Entering Serbia
Posted: Tue April 8, 2008 02:56 AM UTC
Our route: Dubrovnik to Montenegro, then south to Tirana (Albania) then on to Ohrid and Skopje (Macedonia) before crossing into Kosovo and returning to Kolasin (Montenegro) via Pec and Berane and back to Dubrovnik, continuing to Mostar and Sarajevo (Bosnia) then Zagreb (Croatia) and then on to Belgrade (Serbia). Our concern is: Will we have difficulties getting into Serbia because we have driven through Kosovo? Any help, advice or contact information regarding same is appreciated. Thanks in advance to all who reply.
