Train tickets Posted: Wed June 17, 2009 09:01 PM UTC
I learned that if I want to get from Charleroi to Luxembourg, I have to take the train to Namur first and change with another from there to Luxembourg. My question is what are the prices of these tickets?

Bus from Luxembourg to Paris? Posted: Mon February 9, 2009 05:39 AM UTC
Hello,
I will be traveling from Trier to Paris, with a few hours stop in Luxembourg city. I was wandering if there is a bus service between Luxembourg and Paris. I am looking for a cheaper option to the TGV. I checked euroline but they don't seem to have service on that route.
Thanks

hamburg-to luxembourg Posted: Mon September 15, 2008 02:20 PM UTC
hi everyone!
This friday (sept 19th) I'm making my first trip to Luxembourg! We are visiting Esch Sur Alzette. I am in Hamburg the day before and want to travel by train from there to Esch Sur Alzette (from there on sunday we travel home back to the uk). The fares that come up however are 111 euros! I was wondering if there were any ways to get this a bit cheaper, or is that the cheapest I will find? This is the normal fare, so should I just buy that ticket on the morning at the Hamburg station? I realise it is quite a long journey, but if anyone has any advice, that would be great, thank you!

Dinant to Echternach + accomodation Posted: Mon September 8, 2008 12:10 AM UTC
My husband and I will be leaving Dinant Belgium for Echternach. Unfortunately, i can't seem to find the cost of train 2nd class from Dinant to Echternach.
1)Is there a direct train?
2)How much will it cost? one way?
3) From there we will stay for 4 nights and head back to Amsterdam Central? Is there a direct train and how much for 2nd class?
The websites for train service in the Netherlands and Belgium only show cost for internal and domestic services.
4) Does anybody know of a good B and B near the Echternach train station. We are an elderly couple and we would like to find budget accomodation near the staion. a budget hotel would also be fine. many thanks for your help

looking for an American sports bar Posted: Thu August 21, 2008 07:44 PM UTC
Hi!
I'm a 25 year-old American moving from Columbus, Ohio to Luxembourg City in less than two weeks and have been looking unsuccessfully online for a place to watch American sports - in particular NCAA football and basketball. I'm hoping to find something in Luxembourg City (or any city nearby) before the OSU-USC game in a few weeks. Does anyone know of any such place? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Question about Lux train station Posted: Sat May 10, 2008 07:55 PM UTC
We are changing trains in Lux coming from the IR train from Belgium to the TGV to Paris. My wife is rcovering from a broken ankle. Do they have esclators or moving sidewalks between the tracks or must you go up/down stairs.
We are familiar with Liege and Brussels but not Lux.

Is it a problem if my airline departure is after my visa expires? Posted: Mon April 21, 2008 03:39 AM UTC
Hi,
I’m flying to Luxembourg and my travel visa is only good for 90 days but the time between flights is 110 days. I will not be breaking any immigration laws because I will be spending most of my time outside the Country(and schengen states). Will this be a big problem? Will I have to have proof that i will not be intending to stay there the whole time?
I have a US passport.
Thanks for the help

Running around Luxembourg Posted: Tue March 18, 2008 12:40 AM UTC
Hi folks,
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Now I know this is going to sound pretty dumb but I made a stupid bet a number of years ago that at somepoint in my life I was going to run around the whole of Luxembourg.
Basically, I have now got to the planning stage of this bet. I have a few questions if anyone can help!
1. How long would it take? My estimate is it will be 140 miles in total is that right?
2. I need to plan a route. Is there road that goes all the way around the outside...if not what is the terrain like.
Yes I am being serious belive it or not. Any thoughts / advice would be welcome.
Thanks!

Rail travel via Luxembourg Posted: Sun February 3, 2008 11:43 PM UTC
I plan a trip in the spring. I remember that I saw a special rail deal connecting Luxembourg, Trier, Saarbrucken & Metz. Is there such a pass? If so, how does it work. I plant to base in Trier a few days and it would be good to know.
In lieu of that what is the fare between Lux. and Trier and Lux. and Nancy or Metz? I could not find a Luxembourg rail site to get this info.
Thanks

Restaurant Posted: Thu November 29, 2007 10:19 AM UTC
Hello,
this year we decided to skip Christmas party in our city and to have two days trip abroad with my colleagues. 8 of December we will be in Luxembourg. Please, help me to find some restaurant, where 30 people at once can have late lunch or pub or bar, where we can have a meeting point for glass of wine after walking in the city? We don't eat fast food, so I mean some place with atmosphere ;-)
Thank you,
Letute

Living in Luxembourg Posted: Mon November 12, 2007 12:00 PM UTC
Good morning all
I am moving to Luxembourg a few weeks before March 2008, I'm starting a 5 months internship there.
I have thousands of doubts about this country, but the ones that most concern me at this stage are:
1)Is it a safe place?
2)How expensive is it?Can someone give a realistic and clear idea of how much does a single person spends per month?
3)Is it easy to find part-time jobs?
4)People do speak both French and German,or depends on the area?
Thank you so much for your kind attention and hopefully for your answers:)
Wih you all a nice day,
Luísa
