We are changing trains in Lux coming from the IR train from Belgium to the TGV to Paris. My wife is rcovering from a broken ankle. Do they have esclators or moving sidewalks between the tracks or must you go up/down stairs.

We are familiar with Liege and Brussels but not Lux.

I’m flying to Luxembourg and my travel visa is only good for 90 days but the time between flights is 110 days. I will not be breaking any immigration laws because I will be spending most of my time outside the Country(and schengen states).Will this be a big problem? Will I have to have proof that i will not be intending to stay there the whole time?

I have a US passport.

Hi folks,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Now I know this is going to sound pretty dumb but I made a stupid bet a number of years ago that at somepoint in my life I was going to run around the whole of Luxembourg.

Basically, I have now got to the planning stage of this bet. I have a few questions if anyone can help!

1. How long would it take? My estimate is it will be 140 miles in total is that right?

2. I need to plan a route. Is there road that goes all the way around the outside...if not what is the terrain like.

Yes I am being serious belive it or not. Any thoughts / advice would be welcome.

I plan a trip in the spring. I remember that I saw a special rail deal connecting Luxembourg, Trier, Saarbrucken & Metz. Is there such a pass? If so, how does it work. I plant to base in Trier a few days and it would be good to know.
In lieu of that what is the fare between Lux. and Trier and Lux. and Nancy or Metz? I could not find a Luxembourg rail site to get this info.

can i use my televisions and other electrical stuff from the U.S. in luxembourg from what i read i would need a adaptor to go from 110v to the 220v they use . and if thats what i need how much are they and are they easy to purchase?

this year we decided to skip Christmas party in our city and to have two days trip abroad with my colleagues. 8 of December we will be in Luxembourg. Please, help me to find some restaurant, where 30 people at once can have late lunch or pub or bar, where we can have a meeting point for glass of wine after walking in the city? We don't eat fast food, so I mean some place with atmosphere ;-)

I am moving to Luxembourg a few weeks before March 2008, I'm starting a 5 months internship there.
I have thousands of doubts about this country,but the ones that most concern me at this stage are:
1)Is it a safe place?
2)How expensive is it?Can someone give a realistic and clear idea of how much does a single person spends per month?
3)Is it easy to find part-time jobs?
4)People do speak both French and German,or depends on the area?

Hi, My husband is arriving into BRU airport from JFK on the 9th morning,will be driving to and from Brussels airport to Luxembourg for buisness/lunch meetings on Oct 9th. I am flying in on the 9th evening. He will drive back from LUX, pick me up and WHERE DO WE GO FROM THERE is my question/ We have till Thursday morning before we catch a flight to Bucharest.We had planned to go to Bruggges, but it will be another 100kms form Brussels airport and maybe a stretch for him since he will have driven 500 kms already! ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR A CHARMING VILLAGE AND INN NOT MORE THAN 30-45 MINS FROM BRUSSELS AIRPORT.

I am planning to do a day trip of Luxembourg later this month.
Actually I have a latenight flight from Frankfurt Hahn and thot it might be a nice idea to do a day trip arriving at Lux around noon for abt 5 hours to see places.
1. Any idea if the buses from Hahn to Lux is crowded and one needs to book in advance for the journey? Also the costs for a return trip in the same day..One operator says it charges $22 per person one way by bus.. is it that expensive?
2. The absolute must sees and if they are connected by some tourist bus.. where to find this bus and how much for a half day trip?

We will arrive in Luxembourg on our way to the Euromeet 2008 in Karlsruhe.

We will arrive in the city of Luxembourg around lunchtime on Wednesday 28th May 2008.

Hi there I plan to travel to Luxembourg for 5 months possibly October to February 2008. I intend to stay at the Kirchberg in Grunewald or any place 5minutes away from the Bech Building. I have the following questions;
1. How safe is this area?
2.Is there any English speaking entertainment TV channel?
3.What can one do for entertainment on weekends especilly?
4.Can 963 Euros per month cover accomodation,transport and food in this area?
5.Can one find an English speaking church?
6.How cold/warm is the season between October and February?

Does anyone have any suggestions / routes for someone who has never been to Luxembourg (City) and knows very little about i? I'll arriving by train and will probably walk from the station to the centre (if it is not too far). It's a day trip (about 8 hours in the City).

My wife and I (couple in the 50's) are going to visit Luxembourg city as part of our three countries (BENELUX) trip. We will be spending two nights in the city. This is our first trip to this countries. We have travel to other places in Europe before. Any hotel recomendations, places to go, where to shop, what to do in only those days, etc? We will arrive on May 25 and leave back to Amsterdam on the 27 (weekend). We like music, history, etc. How long is the trip from Brussels? Is train good or drive?

I plan to be in Luxembourg for a couple of weeks. When I am there which are the other neighboring countries that I could visit, how convenient is it to travel to France, germany and Belgium form Belgium. Would I be needing overnight stay in these places or can I travel to and fro the same day etc etc. Please erevrt with as much details as you can.

I am looking for a studio flat or a room in a shared flat, somwhere close to the city centre or EU institutions asap. hello!! I just finished organizing the trip to Brugge for the family, making sure the kids will be entertained as much as possible. Now I need to do a day plan for Luxembourg. Does anyone know of family oriented things that will keep a 16 year old.. 9 year old and 11 year old's attention? I've gone on the sites, and looked through here but nothing so far.

I was hoping someone might have a "secret weapon" of some sort :)
