Hello.
I´m sorry for my English, I will be visiting Bolsano this coming Winter and I would like any advise about good place to do easy sky or maybe alpine sky since we are novice, a advice of what to do near by will be welcome as well, also does the stevio pass is open during winter? does any recommend to rent a car and drive through the country? any other suggestion will be welcome
Is it very cold during the day? I was packing for it to be between 50-70 farenhight (10-21 C) -- is this about right? Or can it be much colder? I was planning on hiking in shorts with tshirt + fleece and wind breaker if rainy/windy.
Thanks:)
Can anyone tell me how to get from Rome to Dobbiaco (Toblach) in the Dolomites?
I am trying to go there to visit the Parco Naturale Faies-Sennes-Braies and the Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee).
I had assumed I would take a train from Rome to Bolzano, and then Bolzano to Dobbiaco, but I can't find any Bolzano-Dobbiaco trains.
I checked the Dobbiaco tourism website, but I found it confusing.
Any recommendations would be extremely appreciated!
Thank you,
Appia
Hello! I am spending the summer in Rome and would love to take a few days to visit the Dolomites and see the Lago di Braies. But I don't have a car! Does anyone have any advice how to get there? I figured I'd take a train to Bolzano, but then....?
Thank you so much for any advice!

I will be going on holiday with my wife and 12 year old son in July/August and will be arriving in Treviso airport late evening. We will be spending the night in Treviso and on our second day we will be visiting Venice for the day. We will again spend the night in Treviso and On our third day we will leave to go to the Dolomites by car. What places do you suggest I should visit and how many nights should I spend in each place. I really would like to see places with beautiful scenery. As I will be flying again from Treviso, on my way back I would like to take a different route and perhaps visit Soave or Bassano Del Grappa and spend my last night there. I am open for any suggestions which I will greatly appreciate.
I'm traveling from Munich to Milan in June and want to stop by Bolzano for a day or two to get a glimpse of the Dolomites. Is there any hostel in Bolzano? Or any cheap accommodation for 1?
Hi :)!
I'll travel to Dolomiti next weekend. Can anyone notify about snow conditions at Dolomiti, start of April?
Which hills or which slopes are better to take for spring-skiing (staying in Val de Fassa)?
The self catering suites at the Hotel Vecchio Porto Excelsior look funky and cool, but I cannot find a review anywhere. Has anyone stayed there? I would love to hear something firsthand.
Dolomiti Posted: Tue February 3, 2009 09:27 PM UTC
We are going to visit the Dolomiti in the beginning of March. We are going to be staying near Merano for 2 nights and were thinking of passing a day in the Dolomiti.
Do you think visiting these places in one day is possible:
Ortisei - Cortina d’Ampezzo - Misurina - San Candido - Dobbiaco - Brunico
We will be travelling by car.
And were is the best place to catch a cable car please?
Going to Bolzano for a conference next March, I would like to have suggestions from people living here or that have already stayed in Bolzano about nice places to eat. In the center, as me and my colleagues will be finishing the conference at Viale Druso and would not like to go outside the city to eat.
Thank you,
Paula
My husband and I will be flying into Milan for a 9-day visit with our 8-month old baby in the first weeks of December 2008. We want to fit in a quick trip by train to Bolzano, which we understand is 3.5 hours from Milan. From Bolzano, we have the option of returning by train to Milan or on to Venice or even Zurich to catch a flight to Canada.
Which of the above three airports is our best option after we have visited Bolzano? We prefer a scenic train ride through the Alps, if possible, but are concerned about inclement weather, rock slides, avalanches, etc. possibly stranding us in Bolzano or en route. How likely is this to happen?
Also, we do not want to spend more time than is absolutely necessary on the train. We would rather spend time walking around seeing the sights instead of sitting for long hours on a train trying to get somewhere and then not having time there to actually experience anything.
Alternatively, we are open to making either Milan or Venice our base, and going on a day trip or overnight trip to Bolzano from either city. Is a day trip feasible with a young baby slowing us down?
I notice from the Trenitalia website that many of the Milan-Bolzano trains require a train change in Verona. We do not speak Italian so we are nervous about missing the announcements directing us to hop off the first train and on to the next train. Will there be announcements in English? In Verona, will there be clear signs posted to help us find the connecting Verona-Bolzano train?
We will likely have 3 or 4 bags that are on wheels. Will we have enough time to move our bags from train to train?
Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
route ideas? Posted: Sat August 9, 2008 04:01 AM UTC
Hi guys,
We are a 30's couple and will be driving early september from Milan to Innsbruck . we will have about 2 days and would like some ideas about towns/nature spots on the way for check it out we will probably spend two nights in Innsbruck (driving from Verona morning to Innsbruck, next full day there, next day afternoon drive to Zurich). Thank you so much!
We booked to go to Riva Del Garda in October with my boyfriend for a week. We'll be staying in Hotel Villa Nicolli. What is the weather usually like in October
I've read somewhere that the season finishes the last week of September. Does that mean shops, restaurants, museums & other tourist attractions will be closed?
What about public transportations i.e. buses, trains, ferries, etc. will they run on reduce timings? We would like to go on a day trip to Verona & Venice, do we need to book a hotel overnight or is it still possible to do this as a day trip?
Is it still possible to see/visit other towns via ferry?
Can anybody please tell me if there is a tourist information in Riva Del Garda and whether they'll be open in October? What will be their opening time? Where is it located in Riva Del Garda?
I am going to fly to Munich from London next Monday. I will be arriving at the airport 5:00 in the afternoon.
Then I have to find right train station to get to Bolzano. I was told that - there is a direct train to Bolzano & it take about 3 hours. Is it true?
I would like to know, (1) which train station (and how to get there from the Munich airport) (2) what time the train leave? (on Monday night) (3) How much is the return ticket between Munich and Bolzano
I can not find any good English site to tell me the information.
Hi there, in August im trying to get to Bolzano from Cardiff in Wales on a budget, have friend there I want to visit but looking for best options of either flying, train or even bus. Also whilst there Im happy staying at hostel if they are available or bed and breakfast or at a push a cheap hotel.has anyone any ideas?
Hello, in August I'll be flying to Munich, will rent a car and drive down to visit my father's home town, Revo in Val di Non. We will be driving down to Venice from Revo (via Auto Strada), but on the way back I wanted to travel up the Dolomite Road. Any suggestions on the best route to take from Venice via the Dolomite Road would be appreciated.
We may spend one overnight (someone said to avoid Cortina D'Ampezzo for prices and crowds) or simply drive through and go back to Revo.
If anyone has suggestions, I'm also looking for day trips from Revo (we'll be there for 8 nights). Thank you!
We will be staying in Ortisei for 7 nights and are looking for another town for to spend another 2 to 3 nights. Perhaps something further up in the mountains, but in the direction to Treviso so our trip to the airport won´t be longer than if we were leaving from Ortisei. Does anyone know anything about Arabba or Corvara? Any recommendations? This would be in July.
Do any of you know places to buy organic fruits, greens, meat etc? Markets, farm shops near Bolzano / San Genesio
We are going to the area 4th year in a row - love it there
