I am debating wether to go to see a lady in Omsk!
Is there an airport?? or do I fly to Moscow and get a train??
Or is there an easier route from another country??
I will google all this shortly, but wouldnt mind some advice from those that know this city??

Hello. Could someone look in the phone book and see if there are any Appelt family names listed? My grandfather left Omsk in 1923 and last heard from family in 1936. His father was Henry and mother Amelia. They were Germans settled around the eastern shadow of the Ural moutains, not too far from the Irtysh river. Any help is appreciated.

I heart that there are some environmental problems in omsk
Are they dangerous for a long time live? and what kind of environmental problems are on omsk.
and ı m a single man so what is the social life in omsk.

From Omsk i have to go to Novosibirsk and furhter to Moscow. IS there any flight connection?

I will be traveling to Omsk on next august and I'd like to rent a car to explore the surroundings and the region, probably going to Novosibirsk and back. I couldn't find any car rental agency online. Can anyone give me advice about this issue?
(Any other help about transportation and not-planned trips in that region will also be much appreciated)

I plan to visit Omsk in the second week of January 2006. Various websites and discussion groups mention prices around $20 night. But, after hours of searching, I can only find three hotels (Tourist, Molodyozhnaya and Omsk) all quoting rates around $80-90. But then, none seems to be available in January! Do they close when the weather gets cold? Has anyone in Omsk got any ideas about where to stay - (closer to $20 than $90) and available?

I recently met someone who lives in Omsk, Russia. She wants to come visit me in California. I need to borrow $550 from my parents to pay the balance of her airline ticket but they want to be sure she is who she says she is and I'm not being scammed. Does anyone live in Omsk or know where I can verify a name and address of someone living in Omsk?
