Hannover Just 5 Hours in Hanover......What to do?
Posted: Sat December 8, 2007 08:35 PM UTC
Hello all,

My plans have recently changed and I am now going to be in Hanover for just one morning. My flight arrives at 11pm on friday night and my train leaves at 1pm the next day, so I really dont have much time.

Please can you suggest what I must see in Hanover in just one morning?

Also, What is the best way to get to a hotel in Hanover from the airport at around midnight? I hear that the train is good, but how much does this cost and is it safe around the station on a night?

Many thanks for all your help!

Chris.

Hannover sidetrips from Hannover
Posted: Mon July 23, 2007 09:38 PM UTC
My son is traveling to Hannover on business. Someone suggested he take a weekend trip to Prague or Amsterdam. Does anyone have information on transportation to either city? Would train or car be better, and how long would it take to get to either one? I was hoping Hannover would be close enough to Rothenburg, the Black Forest, and/or the Alps, as those are all places I've been to and would recommend. However, in looking at maps, I don't know if it would be very possible in a weekend to make those trips worthwhile. Any information on this would be appreciated. Thanks. Ann

Hannover Does anyone know the name of this restaurant?
Posted: Fri April 6, 2007 09:12 PM UTC
While in Hannover a couple of weeks ago, we were taken to a "kitsch" restaurant that's located in a farmhouse from the 1600's, that's around 20 min. outside of the city. The special dinner involves a kind of show with involvement from all diners. They tie red checkered bibs on you and then roll potatoes onto the table. After that they choose a victim and shove a potatoe into his/her mouth that has been dipped into sour cream and bacon bits. They also pour shots of schnapps into your mouth and all food is eaten by hand off a cutting board. Part of the routine is that a couple is "married" and you have to beg for salt and sausage from the bride/groom.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Please don't think I'm crazy. I really did go to this restaurant and would be happy to show you photos of this madness!

Thanks!

Hannover HELP! ACCOMODATION IN HANNOVER
Posted: Mon February 5, 2007 01:43 AM UTC
Hello, I will be attending CeBIT Hannover on 17-21 of March 2007 and I need a cheap accommodation. I am going with 3 friends more, but we need to find something ASAP. We don't need much, just a couple beds and access to a bathroom. Can somebody help us? Do you think we can get a room for 2 people for $25 Euros/ night in order to expend $50 for all of us per night?

Thanks in advance.

Hannover CeBIT 2007 -- accommodation sought
Posted: Tue November 7, 2006 03:25 AM UTC
Hello, I am attending CeBIT Hannover next year from 15-21 March 2007 and need accommodation... but I am not being sponsored by my employer to attend so I need to find something affordable!!

Ready to consider anywhere up to 120Euros/night but would prefer much, much cheaper. The only places I can find online are more like 1000Euros/night! Far, far too expensive. I am coming from Australia, too, which means it is even more expensive as $A aren't worth much ;-)

I don't need much -- just a bed and access to a bathroom. Can somebody help me?

I did not think they would all be booked out by early November, but it seems so.

Cheers

Hi! We are seeking information about budget hotels/guest houses in Hannover. We will consider hostels if they have double rooms. ideally the place should be fairly central, no more than a ten miunte tram ride from the centre. Any ideas?
We have tried Hostel Hannover but that's a no-go.
