Courmayeur bus from courmayeur to aosta
Posted: Mon July 27, 2009 01:33 AM UTC
Hello,

My husband and I are attempting to reserve the earliest bus departing Courmayeur for our upcoming trip in August, on a Thursday morning. We are having difficulty booking it on the savda.it website, however, and were hoping somebody could provide some insight and help. When trying to reserve the earliest bus, at 6:45 am, we get an error message: "La tratta 058561->010001 utilizzata sulla corsa 36398 non è tariffabile," which translates on google translate to "Trafficking 058561 -> 010001 used on race and pricing, not 36,398." An "x" appears where we would select that bus, and we can not book it.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

We do seem able to reserve a later bus, however this would mean us missing our connection in Aosta.

Thank you in advance for helping us out in this frustrating situation!

Courmayeur Transportation to Courmayeur
Posted: Mon August 4, 2008 07:48 PM UTC
I am arriving Geneva airport at 7:45PM (19.45) on 19 September and trying to figure out how to get to Courmayeur that evening. There are ski buses to Chamonix, but the ones I found leave GVA before 7PM (and then I'd still have to get through the tunnel). Is there a public bus or train I can take all the way to Courmayeur in the evening? Or any other way to get there short of renting a car?

Courmayeur How to get to Montreux from Valle d'Aosta
Posted: Mon January 7, 2008 04:25 PM UTC
Dear VTers

I will be in Courmayeur, Valle d'Aosta for 3 days on a work retreat. Since I don't ski and since I'm a big fan of Freddie Mercury, I thought about taking a day trip to Montreux to visit his memorial statue. The trouble is I can't seem to find much travel information. I know there are bus services which go from Courmayeur to Turin, Milan and Genoa but that's all the information I have! Does anybody have any idea of what would be the quickest/easiest way to reach Montreux? I've thought about getting a taxi to a station then getting a train from there if that would be easier (although it's definitely more expensive). Any information would be fantastic. Thanks!

Valle d'Aosta Valle d'Aosta in June
Posted: Mon May 21, 2007 05:19 AM UTC
Hello

We will be having a short break in Valle d'Aosta (staying in Pollein - Express by Holiday Inn) in June and were wondering if there are any suggestions as to places we should visit. Is it recommended to hire a car? Are there any parks in the vicinity where our 5year old son could have fun?

Thanks

Aosta Alpine travel in Aosta
Posted: Wed March 29, 2006 09:37 PM UTC
I am a geologist who needs to traverse from Aosta to Zermatt. From what I have gathered we will have to cross four glaciers and it will probably take us 2 days. I am having a hard time finding a map with all the possible trails between Aosta and Zermatt and all the possible huts along the way. This is sort of round about stuff to be on the internet and find out about. Our group has extensive alpine training and we just have to figure out our basic route before comming up to Aosta on May 22 to begin the trek. I would appreciate ANY advice

Thanks for your help

Valle d'Aosta Hiking in Valle d'Aosta - 3-4 days
Posted: Thu October 27, 2005 02:43 PM UTC
Hi there,
Look, I'm in Torino right now and I'll have a longer week-end, in fact a mini break of 4 days. I would like to hike somewhere, as I have my hiking gear with me...from plastic boots to tent.

1. Could you suggest me something nice ? I am thinking of Valle d'Aosta but this is not a must.
2. Do you know where is there already snow by now ?

Many thanks,
Radu

Valle d'Aosta Hill Walking, Gran Paradiso
Posted: Sun July 3, 2005 03:41 PM UTC
I'm heading to Italy for a week in early September. So far, I'm thinking of doing some routes around Gran Paradiso, anything which doesn't involve scrambling or climbing as i'll be by myself. Can anyone reccommend a good english (or french) hiking guide book for the area? Also, any general suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Valle d'Aosta Help....
Posted: Thu January 13, 2005 05:48 AM UTC
Help,,,
I will be arriving in Turino next week and have two days to wait for my friends from Norway to arrive before we leave for the Alps to ski. What should I do until they get there? I would like to get close to the mountains so I can ski a little before they arrive, but not too far away from Turino.

How long does it take to travel by bus or train from Turino to Aosta? And How easy is it to catch a bus from the airport?

Where can I stay for cheap?

Thank you,
Eric.

Valle d'Aosta place to stay/snow?
Posted: Tue August 19, 2003 02:36 PM UTC
I'm planning several days in the Valle d'Aosta at the beginning of November. Will there be snow? And are their sledding activities for children anywhere? I'm also looking for a 2-room apartment-type accommodation for me and my son. Any ideas? We want to see the national park and the mountains.
