Milan New years in Milan
Posted: Mon October 26, 2009 11:34 AM UTC
Hello! my husband and I are spending the 31st of December in Milan. I've read that this is not the ideal place to spend New Years, is that true? Even if it is, I would like to know if anyone knows what we could do to have some fun. Perhaps a nice restaurant (not so expensive) and then a party or bar to go to??

Thanks!

Milano Sunday in Milano
Posted: Mon October 19, 2009 09:26 AM UTC
Hi everybody, I am going to spend next Sunday and Monday in Milano. I booked already at Hotel Agape in Via Flumendosa for Sunday night and I would like some suggestions for a restaurant nearby. I am not searching for something fancy but I would like to try some local specialty well cooked and reasonable priced. I dont mind going to a different neighborhood if it will be served by public transportation (bus-tram-metro.
I would appreciate any suggestion.

Milan Obtaining tickets for Inter games in Curva Nord
Posted: Thu October 8, 2009 04:50 PM UTC
Hi,
I fly out to Milan on sat 07/11/09 to go to see Inter v Roma on the sunday evening. I would like to get tickets sent across to England but after weeks of research this is proving near impossible. So it's looking like i may have to travel across and try to purchase a ticket either on the sat or the sun. Obviously sat would be better but i need to find out where the ticket outlets are and when they are open.
I hope somebody can help with my enquiry!
Thanks

Milan Hotel Nasco room choice
Posted: Thu September 24, 2009 03:13 PM UTC
Hello,

Is there anyone who could advice me which room at Hotel Nasco to specifically request if we need a larger space in the room because we are staying there with our baby? I have read from some reviews that double rooms are not equally large so we are hoping to have some tips which double room to get from VTers who have been there. Also, we want to request for a room not on the roadside for our sleeping baby. Is street noise really a problem in a roadside room? I was wondering if we choose a room not on the roadside would mean we would miss any lovely view of the city (or park?) that comes with a roadside room. I presume that roadside rooms are the ones with balconies.

Any tip or enlightenment would be really appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

greetings,
ning

Milan Tickets for the Rossoneri this Sunday.
Posted: Tue September 22, 2009 05:24 PM UTC
Ciao from Glasgow,

Will be in Milan on Sunday and would like to take in the game at the San Siro. Will I be able to buy tickets in Milan on the day? I know that you can often buy them from banks etc but don't suppose these will be open on a Sunday. Am in Bellagio Friday/Saturday and don't think I'll be able to pick one up there either.

Any help gratefully received.

Also, any good tips for aperativo on Sunday night?

Harry.

Milan Milan to Venice by train anyone?
Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 04:55 AM UTC
Me again,

We want to travel to Venice at the end of our week - and by train. How long will it take? Are there ticket options (like first class/coach) Should we buy from a travel agency - as others advised on the Milan to Switzerland thread?

Can we get to a station which takes us by boat over to Venice easily (train station?)

Thanks again!

Milan Nannini shops
Posted: Tue September 15, 2009 04:30 AM UTC
Hi,

I'm going to Milan in a few weeks and will have some time to shop. I've seen Nannini purses the last time I was in Italy - didn't buy one and really want to get one this time.

Is there a Nannini store or a place that sells a good selection of their leather goods in central Milan? Thanks so much for any advice!

Milan Milano to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland by train - URGENT!!
Posted: Sat September 5, 2009 06:25 PM UTC
Hello!

My husband and I are in Milan, but we need to take a train to Lauterbrunnen, Switzerland on September 7. However, I am having a difficult time getting any information about getting train tickets and how much they cost.

Can I do this online? Or, do I have to go to the train station? I have waited in the long line at the train station just to get a person who could not speak English. And, my Italian is not good enough to communicate exactly what we need or, at least, to understand exactly what they are trying to tell me.

If I need to go to the train station to buy tickets, is there somewhere I can go besides the main ticket line?

Thank you so much for any help you can offer!!!

Varenna Milan-Varenna transportation
Posted: Tue September 1, 2009 04:29 PM UTC
Hello and help, prego!

My husband and I will be arriving in Milan Thursday evening, planning to spend a long weekend in Varenna. Our flight will arrive in Milan well before the last bus leaves and a few minutes before the last train departs for Varenna.

We've got a B&B already booked for the night at Lake Como and really don't want to have to spend the night in Milan.

How much would a taxi cost to take us to Menaggio? Are there any other ways we might be able to get there?

Thank you very much for your time and response.

Milan parking near milan central train station?
Posted: Thu August 20, 2009 01:38 AM UTC
forgive me for the rush but i need an answer very quickly. is it possible to park within walking distance of milan central train station around 8-9 AM, and return at 10 PM for your car? this could be on the street, at a garage, or elsewhere. if parking at a garage we would need to be able to retrieve the car between 10-11 PM.

if parking close by is not possible, what is the best way to park and ride? i am coming from como if that makes a difference but i need to be able to get back to my car from milan at the stated time. thanks very much

Bergamo deperate for assistance
Posted: Fri August 14, 2009 08:40 PM UTC
Good afternoon Could you answer this question
We are scheduled to stay in Bergamo Italy on September 1st and 2nd and leave on September 3rd
On September 2nd we would like to do a day trip to Lake Como
I understand the 3 main towns are Varenna, Menaggio and Bellagio and ferry boats travel between the town every hour
How would we get to one of these 3 towns from Bergamo
I understand there is a train to Varenna, but you have to change trains in Leco and if we left on the 9.15 train we would not arrive until after 11.00am
I was hoping there was a better way
